The day of 9/11 changed the world in a single day. A world we think we know. It’s defining image is the collapse of the twin towers & the tragic death of innocent people inside.
The construction of the World Trade Center was an incredible breakthrough in skyscraper design. The latest in-building technologies allowed designers to go bigger and higher than anything the world had ever seen. Nothing else like this, had ever been built before since. And I think the beauty, the architecture beauty of the WTC is remarkable and it’s not easy to underestimate. The twin towers of the World Trade Center, completed in 1973, were for a time the tallest buildings in the world. They dominated the Manhattan skyline rising 110 stories high. The buildings were home to some of the world’s leading financial institutions. Each tower was 110 stories high.. Today, the WTC, had become an icon for success, ambition & Manhattan itself. We’ve become so familiar with it. And remarkably after all this time, it continues to inspire us all.
For more than a quarter of a century, the W.Trade Center Towers stood like sentinels at the gates of the free world. But then came the 11th of September 2001 and in little more than 10 seconds, each of the WTC Towers was gone…
Years before 9/11, after the ‘93 bombing on the Towers, there had been clues that the attack on the WTC was a disaster waiting to happen. Despite improvements and security, after the 93 bombing, many people were convinced that the world trade center remained a target. The whole complex posed an unusual security risk, because of its symbolism, its size, its recognisability, the best know building in New York, the center or World Capitalism just steps away from the stock market. The day that many people had predicted, arrived on September 11th 2001.
It was 8:46 am when the first plane hit the North Tower (1) of the World Trade Center. In less than 2 hours from this moment, both towers of the WTC will be in ruins, and thousand of lives changed forever. From this moment onwards, no one was safe from attack by suicide bombers. Thousand innocent people were killed on both buildings, thousands were injured. It still not known how many people perished in this nightmare of collapsing steel and dust.

Today, 20 years after 9/11 events, it might be wrong talking about anniversary, but we still and will forever remember what happened on that horrifying September morning in 2001 & we shall #neverforget all those lost on this day. The best lesson we are given, is never to lose our hope, strength and courage in life. 15 Septembers later, a view of the Manhattan skyline, on the site where the twin towers were stood, a new WTC has been constructed. The structural void created by the 911 attacks, has been filled. Now as the new site is being completed, there is only one question that defines years of effort. How can we prevent this from ever happening again.?
Is it okay to be nostalgic for somewhere you never went?
Is it okay to cry for a place you never got to see, for people you never met?

I totally agree.! The terrorists destroyed an icon. And by changing its successor design (in a way nothing refers to the Twin Towers) is like we admit “We lost” & we somehow dropped all those decades to trash. Of course being there on 9/11 was a really traumatic experience for everyone. It was a right choice to transform their original footprint to pools. The destruction left a huge void on people’s lives and that is perfectly displayed there.Even relatives of the victims visit that place with respect for the people they lost suddenly.
But talking about the rebuilding process at the rest of the WTC site & the design of the new towers….we can’t find any connection to the glory of NYC in the past decades. No reference at all. WTC is a business address for sure (and maybe they were thinking of businessmen afraid to choose their office space at Twin Towers again). But that fear has nothing to do with the towers. It could have happened anywhere. The design of the new WTC is the not the fact people choose to move in. It’s the technology behind its construction that makes people be and feel safe there. So they should have recreated a better version of the iconic twin towers, safe for everyone while keeping the memorial as is. This should have been the best reference to 9/11 and the strength to move on after a tragic event (without letting fear to define the way we think).
The new design is not bad. But that place wasn’t a place to begin the architecture change of NY skyline. There are many opportunities to do it somewhere else. After all…. new generations are not interested as much in History & Archives. They treat this event in a way we hear about World Wars. But this is not an event happened 80 years ago but only 20 years back. An event that happened at the beginning of a new millennium.
And even though the site was rebuilt, by changing its original form we admit “our hidden fear”… The terrorist didn’t want to destroy the materials of those buildings. They chose a specific icon. And by destroying that icon they destroyed what it was meant to represent. The right message should have been “bringing the icon back to life” (rebuilding while preserving history).
Just imagine your children asking about 9/11, showing them the museum artifacts and photos and finally let them see the recreation of something that was lost…
@@ArgirisRamandanis I couldn't have said it any better myself. As a foreigner, I have a couple of friends and relatives who've visited Ground Zero in the past, when it was still a pit, and during the final stages of reconstruction. So, when One, Four, Three WTC were already completed, as were the memorial & museum.
With that being said, they were massively impressed with the size and scope of the memorial e.g. the two huge fountains/pools and One WTC. Being able to stand there for hours and observe.
Nonetheless, you still feel like a gaping hole is still missing. It might have to do with 2 WTC missing as well. Knowing it's a 1300 ft. (400m) tall tower missing. Either way, they also agree that the right thing would have been to rebuild the towers. For that when you get knocked down, you have to get back up right again. If not, it would be at your own peril. Peace through strength. As Reagan said.

I wasn't around for the twin towers, but just from this video I can tell that the new WTC can never be like them.
I know I’m fascinated with these videos bc I was only 12 in middle school when 9/11 happened. No they should have replaced them I will point them out in any old movie that shows them in the background.

When the Towers fell, they marked the beginning of the collapse of the American Empire. Nothing has been the same since 09/11/2001 and everything has gotten astronomically worst.
This terrorist act took place in the US actually. But it affects the whole mankind (even today)... If only we had the option to return on those great decades of peace...
My father worked as a businessman and traveled a lot from Ecuador to the US and abroad. He was fortunate enough to visit the WTC in the year 2000 and made it all the way to the top floor on the elevator. He told me how excited and surprised he was by how fast the elevator trip was. He also partook in a simulated helicopter ride of NYC at the observation deck of the WTC. He took many photos that day which he treasures dearly.
I must admit that visiting the towers was one of my dreams as a kid. Although that day never came, this video is so emotional and gave me a glimpse of what they were like pre 9/11, so thank you so much for uploading it!
As for all the victims that passed on that day, rest in peace. You will not be forgotten. 🕊

Such an innocent, beautiful complex. I just don't get why even the most cold blooded individuals out there would have such hatred against this place to attack it not once but twice.

I am glad to hear that everyone of you enjoyed my video. Sadly many of us never had the opportunity to visit the original WTC Towers.. However we all understand their value for NY. And talking abou the after 9/11 period, the symbolical power of those towers is even more powerful for all humanity…
We all remember the tragical events of September 11th.. But the worst thing about that is that this act of terrorism took us our smile.. You can’t talk about 9/11 and not feel the fear of a possible new attack. It is natural to think and feel that way. But the worst thing is that this fear kills our vision and smile for the future. Eventhough we have recreated the WTC site the fear and sadness is there… It is reflected on the on the WTC Pools… The conclusion is that we all remember what happened and will continue to do so..
But….we should never forget how the world was before 9/11. Thats the reason I decided to create this Flashback Video for this 20 year anniversary. We need a vision for a vision.. A vision to help as create (not the ideal world but) at least a world like the one we had on 1990’s - 2000’s… We have to use such flashback videos to get our visions inspired for the future..

@@ArgirisRamandanis Life was beyond beautiful in the 90s, thats why the 1990s is so appreciated. It was the decade with a short period of true relaxation peace and calmness. Such a beautiful time. Plus no heavy tech, I cannot fanthom the fact that during that time some evil people decided to attack the US. Not a single day om earth have that kind of feel came back since 9/11. it was indeed such a different time. Like living in a good good dream. And you wake up to reality and it sucks. You cannot go back to the same dream, it felt so good as long as it lasted.
@@numan2985 I couldn't agree more with your description. And talking about myself, being able to live on that days even as a child I really feel blessed. The feeling of those decades is on our blood. We cann't forget that. And thats why so many people agree on the same topic. We are not just a bunch of crazy men stuck on the past. If only we could change the events unfolded on that day... Imagine if we could somehow stop the terrorist before it happens. Nothing would have happened and the problem would have been solved with some extented restrictions and security measures... 9/11 left a mark on all of us. Years ago, I have heard a phrase on a greek documentary about 9/11 and I always repeat that...

And that is a huge true story. I remember myself watching the footage on TV. Without knowing before whats the meaning the terrorism, I had an image for it and a very bad feeling. Everyone was broken that day. American or not. We are human beings and that doesn't change....

@@ArgirisRamandanis I was born in '98, so I don't really remember much of pre-9/11 life in America. What I do remember is that I was supposed to start pre-school in September 2001, I believe the week after the 11th. But after the attacks, my parents pushed my start date by 2 weeks.
Years later, I found out that they did this because brown skinned people, like my family, were being targeted as part of the post-9/11 wave of hate crimes against Muslims and anyone who looked Middle Eastern. But I also found out that my father's colleague was lost onboard American Airlines flight 11. I can't imagine how hard that was for my dad to deal with.
In a way I am glad to have been too young to remember 9/11. Had I actually understood what what was actually going on, it would have been unimaginably devastating and terrifying. That too, I'm an airline enthusiast. I wouldn't be able to bear seeing my favorite industry become weaponized the way it did.
This is how they should be remembered. Not only for 102 minutes of unfathomable horror, but for lifetimes of joy and prosperity they brought people who worked and visited there. They were the jewel in the crown of Manhattan. Not everybody liked or appreciated them while they were there, but everyone felt it and still feels it to this day now that they're gone. I know what happened but it's still utterly inconceivable. Absolutely unforgivable, lacking any and all absolution.

Sad 😭. The new WTC complex might be a symbol of recovered but never forgotten dark 9-11 event but it can never replace the old twin towers' popularity and glory-- it touched most hearts of the people. Especially me, I am a 90s kid and saw old wtc countless time on most of American tv shows and films.
I totally agree with you.! Every child that was lucky to be born on the 90's really had the chance to live during such a great decade...It's a feeling that can never be forgotten. We had this feeling of completion without having everything on our hands. Its not the materials that matters. On 90's we could enjoy our evening only by watching a tv show. It was a decade that let people unfold their lives, their dreams. Someone that hears us today will call us crazy but we had a different model of life. There was no internet, no social media, no problems to interrupt our way. Every video we see from the years before 9/11 is the proof for that... Just take the look at the faces of the people..What they were doing... Simple things that was everything. And we are not crazy or idealists. It is a known truth that happiness lies in simplicity..
You can see people gathering on the WTC Plaza for example.. For what purpose? To enjoy an afternoon dancing event. To see friends. NOT to check in on facebook or upload an instagram story. At first plan it was the moment, the people, the place.... And then a break high on the sky, a drink on ''windows on the world''... Those moments will never come back. And thats because we have let technology define every single moment of our lives. And for many people technology brought a complete change on their identity. If you forget all this virtual environment for a moment life is again so simple, so happy, so delightful... Twin Towers is only a part of history, but a part of our happier self and a happier past (that we have let back on september 11th)....

The loss of these iconic buildings and the continued lives lost has changed the face of our world forever.
Sadly this is what we got after 9/11… A world where people stopped smiling as much. And even when we see smiles are from people enjoying their good lives while others suffer (next to them).. Years ago we were dealing with topics like the poverty of other countries and we were feeling sorry for that… Now that the economical crisis hit almost every country the problem is everywhere. We see people on the streets suffer. People that are afraid to smile watching people suffer. And people that laughs like nothing is happening… And due to this situation we have even more problems coming up (hatred, depression, wars etc). This is not the happiness we had before 9/11….

The foreshadowing in some of the videos,prior to 9/11 is stunning. The shot of the high jumper falling from the top, American Airlines. Sort of makes you think of the collective human consciousness...

“Seems like” Unfortunately it was prophesied as it was shown in various movies and 📺 shows like “The Simpsons” where they go to NYC to get Homer’s car. Which was parked in the plaza between the Twin Towers of all places! Even late singer “Prince” hinted about “0sama Bin Laden” gonna drop the bombs in a performance back in 2000. “The Path to 9/11” showed that both 2/26/93 and 9/11 was all set up and allowed to happen! It was a 2part TV movie shown once! The Clinton and Bush Administration turned a blind eye and deaf ear despite the Feds efforts trying to stop what’s to happen despite numerous warnings!
That American Airlines commercial is kind of creepy. The World Trade Center was, in my opinion, truly amazing aesthetic works of art.
Those people who decided for the final design of the new WTC should have changed mind... Those two building were stunning for sure...

@@dev44467 I have watched many documentaries about it. Even though i am not an american it is clear that all americans got used to the WTC some years after their construction. By the end of 1970’s the Twin Towers was part of their lives and everyone enjoyed being there.

Yes it is true.! Their scale was really impresive and it really dominated the New York skyline... Their power is so strong and you can easily see it by yourself. Eventhough they are gone for more than 2 decades people are still talking about those towers, their beauty... Everyone remembers the world before 9/11 and how happy everyone was back in time... If only we could bring time back or at least build them again there...

Twin Towers were very beautiful 🥺❤️✨ even when about their dissappear. Both buildings were an power icon of United States 🇺🇸. Someday I'll visit New York to be in that memorial and in that pools for tribute to victims of that tragic day. Feel and be on the ground zero of 9/11 brings a lot of nostalgia and sadness. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us.! I am too waiting for the day to visit Ground Zero and pay respect to all those people lost on 9/11. They were killed without hurting anyone, only because it happened to work/be there that specific morning.. The date has no significance. If it had happened days/weeks/years later again it would have killed people as well.... Normal People who earn their living everyday... People who refuse to give up... People who keep our community alive with their everyday service.... The victims of every terrorist attack (whatever the number of deaths) is the humanity as whole... Terrorist force our values to collapse.... We have to be UNITED.... Even if its about war, virus or economic situations... We have to care for each other, for animals, for the enviroment... We live in a century in which the condition changes everyday... Today there is a problem on one country, tommorow the problem is on our own door. We cannot be pathetic... We have to stand up for what is FAIR, RIGHT... Whatever the cost we have to prevent such days of happening again... This is the best tribute of 9/11.... We live on a century with many changes that's right and we're humans who make many mistakes. We need changes this world, makes me sad to remember all those innocent people who died that day. And as I hear on documentary, somehow everyone remember what he was doing on September 11th. Thats the reason we should never forget and accept things as they come.. We are on a generation that has to be aware for everything and if its possible to be one step ahead from the evil to prevent a possible destruction.. Now more than ever we should NOT be divided... What a time to be alive. Those buildings were massive and gorgeous. I never got the chance to see them in person as I was 2 years old when 9/11 happened.

I could not agree more. As a photographer I totally understand what you mean. After so many achievements & development of camera technology, we are stuck in the details and the result is losing the magic of the picture as whole… We see the tree but not the forest. This is the reality of our days. And that is our modern “prison”. A prison of the details. The cameras of the past weren’t good at details but were good at capturing the whole picture. This is their achievement…
Newer cameras have HD, they capture more detail. Details can be ugly

@Gabriel C You said it! When the camera captures less depth of details,
it can make the shadows seem deeper, or the light seem to glow with overexposure,
and it kind of puts you in a different world. I remember when HD photography became common in the early 2000's
and it's funny, because you would look at these screenshots and say "Wow! Photos of the world now look even cleaner than the Real world!" :D

I totally agree with you.!!! The fact that so many people remembers those towers with nostalgia and good feelings is the reason of hope... We shall never stop hoping...And we have to try as many times needed to create again a world like the one lost on 9/11... A world full oh values, virtues, love, compassion, courage, hope and etc. If that world is alive on our hearts it can be created again...
Absolutely beautifully done! Those 2 majestic giants are greatly missed by many.
Those towers were stunning for sure. Their image, their symbolic power, their meaning, their memory is alive until today... Eventhough their end was marked by the terrible events of 9/11, people really gets emotional while remember the past years.... It it not the structure itself but what they represent.... The twin towers is directly connected with the pre 9/11 world.... The fact that they destroyed that day just marked the beginning of decades with catastrophic events...... If only we could get back to those peaceful days of NY, sitting on the WTC Plaza, or drinking a coffee on the outdoor observatory at the south tower.... They twin towers were not replaced, and the new WTC is something completely different... But I repeat it is not the tower as a structure... We also have towers and observatories today.... The days has changed completely.. People has changed. The skyline is changed. Everything changed (not in a good way). And this is what makes all those past decades so perfect to our eyes....

It is sad that most old films/shows with cameos-scenes of the old wtc had to be deleted.
Sadly they deny to use films showing the Twin Towers anymore... We should always remember what happened there. And we remember by hearing or seeing. We have to introduce the world before and after 9/11 to the coming generations. This is the only way to learn them the meaning of peace/prosperity and the damaging results of hatred/war on humanity. By introducing museum artifacts with endless descriptions it becomes a boring story to the eyes of a child. This terrorist act defined the beginning of the new millenium/century and changed our world forever. We have to give them the right lessons and a message of hope. We have to inspire our kids with images of a better world. We were the lucky ones to live on those great past decades and we obtained a vision for our future. Next generations needs a vision too. And we have to give them the right examples. We cant rest on the internet. It is a giant source of history that almost noone use. So lets begin the hard work. Lets find an easy way to talk about history in order to save the world. We are the present, our kids are the future...

My late husband and I visited NYC in the 1990s. We saw TWTC it was so impressive. Went to the observation deck at one of the top floors. My husband filmed a lot from there, the views. Amazing. I am so glad that we got to see it.
People said their designs were bland. I think the Twin Towers were perfect, for one the simplicity for most of the facades combined with the intrinsic details of the Floor and Sky Lobbies worked. Not like the skyscrapers of today that look like scrunched paper.
Also, they both stood independently from the ground up unlike the Petronas Towers, which is really ONE building.
Also do not forget building 7, that had a nice earthy granite colour to its facade.
I totally agree with you... I think that almost everyone accepts the beauty of the original WTC... If you read my comments here, somewhere I wrote that the architecture design was meant to be timeless and unique... No other building could mimic that greatness, no other building could represent the image of NYC so powerful as the towers... The fact that today you see millions of people talking about the Twin Towers is the biggest proof of all. People who never visited the wtc, or were not born at that time still admire the original idea.... As for the new 1 WTC okay it is beautiful but it's design fate is to be overshadowed but other buildings in the future (with greater heights or building technology).. The creators of the new WTC tried to develop the future image of NY beggining with the WTC but they were wrong.... Imagine NY 50 years from now... Glass skyscrapers everywhere and maybe taller or more beautiful.. 1WTC will be lost among thousand glass buildings.... As for the original towers... They were a powerful icon, with great symbolic power and meaning.... If they were rebuilt safer and stronger than before everything would have been better... The towers were icons of the american history and should have been rebuilt.... By changing the original form it's like we admit our fears... In my country greece for example (The Parthenon in Acropolis) is an icon that was detonated/destroyed/broken into small pieces through the year of our history... Lord Εlgin of England also stoled a high number of sculputer from the Parthenon Facade which were never returned to us (and which are now located on the british museum eventhough this is stolen Greek archaeological heritage. But it is the symbol of Athens who invented democracy... Its marble, its rocks has a value even if they are broken into pieces... But we do not give up... We are trying for decades to identify pieces, bring them together and recreate the icon as it was 2000 years ago.. Not because we cannot find new marble... But because the destroyed structure is an icon... And this specific location, these specific rocks are the history... Talking about the towers of course it was not need to bring all the destroyed pieces back together but at least rebuilt the icon... Safer and stronger... Not its too late to discuss that but the rejection of Twin Towers 2 are one of the most important mistakes of modern history.... They killed an icon in way that it was a typical structure like many others....
@@ArgirisRamandanis well said. They were iconic indeed, just like the Pantheon is to Rome. I also read somewhere that the present-day 1WTC design was stolen (from Mr Park I believe), which its original use would have been more suitable instead of replacing the twins.
Being slightly angular in design means no genius window washing system like what the Twin Towers had is possible and no one can climb it like what George Willig did as he used the tracks that ran vertically down the corner.
The Twin Towers 2 would have been great. I think the problem is that people would be afraid to occupy them but their thinking would be flawed because what is to say that the same thing will not happen to any other tall skyscraper of existence.

Growing up in the 1970s/80s/90s, just about any movie, tv show, music act etc. that was set in NYC invariably had footage of the WTC towers. They & the city they towered over became one to generations of people; it is still difficult to comprehend them not being there anymore.
I was very fortunate to see them in person in late 1992, makes me sad but thankful of its memory (In my mind, the WTC still stands tall).
If only we could get our clock back to these days.... If only we could spend a day or night at these towers... They were something more than structures... They really were an ICON, a symbol for all the western civilisation...

There were such dreams and high hopes for the future of humanity back then. Things were clearly defined:
Movies had a meaning, songs were music, Police policed, teachers actually taught, actors just acted, and a career victim was a thing of myth.
Those were the good things. Politicians were still not public servants though, and the country was still pretty lost from its roots of purpose and belief.
I believe that behind the scenes, the globalists plans were still very much set in motion back then, trying in vain to outdo our current system of government. It was just more hidden and less people knew about it at the time back then.

Sadly this is what we got after 9/11… A world where people stop smiling as much. And even when we see smiles are from people enjoying their good lives while others suffer (next to them).. Years ago we were dealing with topics like the poverty of other countries and we were feeling sorry for that… Now that the economical crisis hit almost every country the problem is everywhere. We see people on the streets suffer. People that are afraid to smile watching people suffer. And people that laughs like nothing is happening… And due to this situation we have even more problems coming up (hatred, depression, wars etc). This is not the happiness we had before 9/11….

The process of making this video was very emotional for me either (eventhough I am not an American) I always felt very connected to every New Yorker who faced that tragic day... Last year, my thoughts on the 9/11 anniversary (when I was about to make this video) was whether I should make a video about the attacks or a video that will bring hope to us... Of course it is not bad at all to remember what happened there and pay respect the victims..But during the last 21-year period, we simply do the same thing again and again... Repeating the tragedy and keeping our feelings arround black/evil/hate, poisoning our minds and hearts... Whoever organized/completed the attacks was a problematic figure in history. The real problem is that everything changed after 9/11.. The western world, our civilisation, our smiles, our hapiness with simple things, our love for life, our peaceful evenings, our values, the lack of fear and etc... We are in 2022 and we got to a point where we tend to forget everything before 9/11 like it never existed/happened.... We lost ourselves with that attack and that cannot be continued if we keep going to the same way.. Our countries are bleeding... The newer generations lost their values and destination is life because they dont have a meaningful VISION....
Enough with the pessimism and the materialism.........
We have to find our identity BACK... We have to remember what life used to be, before the attacks... We have to find our lost/hidden values and get them back on surface.... We have to bring the peace back... And the first step is between our every day relations with others... With respect for life (animals and nature)... With love and compassion... That is the pre 911 world we admire now... It seems ideal but EXISTED very recently... That is the purpose of the video... Lets remember AGAIN everything and we will change the world again... People with no sense of Architecture Beauty actually believes that... The new WTC is beautiful yes. But for now. What if the winds of architecture design changes in 10-20 years? Glass skyscrapers seem an obvious choice based on what we see on movies of the future.. Even if glass design is the future, personally I am not satisfied with thousand buildings using the same design on the NY Skyline... They should have really considered the idea of recreating the Twin Towers... And the reason why is the symbolism.
Even a terrorist attack is not powerful enough to destroy an icon. Those Twins were an absolute timeless landmark of NY. They were a piece of history for the fast changing city of NY. I am afraid that the new 1WTC will lose its identity in the next 15-30 years (when NY will be a city full of glass skyscrapers using a much more innovative design for sure). In a city like that, the Twins would have been absolutely a piece of modem history. A living memory of that fateful September morning. A living tribute for the 9/11 attacks and victims. An icon with powerful meanings for USA, NY and for the whole humanity who fights for recreation & for a better world of prosperity, safeness, without fear, war or terrorism. The symbolism of the Twin Towers was not destroyed by the attacks - it was multiplied in size. And those who had to decide lost a great opportunity while killing a symbol.
We do not admire the Empire State Building (or any other buiding) for the way it was built or for the materials used. For modern architecture its outdated and maybe not so safe. But we admire it as an icon. For what it represents, for the history of NY behind of that building, for the difficulties we had on 1930's that was surpassed later. The skyline of NY should have been a living reminder of the city's history, a real timeline for the evolution of the city. And the Twins remains a part of that forever...

If 9/11 never happened, we honestly would’ve better off. Not only would the twin towers still be standing, but America wouldn’t be so politically polarized as it is nowadays.
I would’ve visited the towers almost every time I visited the city, even as of today (I moved to NJ in 2008), and it’s a shame I never will in this universe.

The terrorists wanted to destroy something iconic, something beautiful, something that brought smile to all the people. They forced every person/nation to change directions. Yo soy del año 98 , cuando ocurrieron los atentados del 9/11 apenas tenía 3 años por lo que no recuerdo nada de ese evento.
Cuando cumplí 5 años , me compraron una lámpara en movimiento que tenía el Skyline de NY quede fascinado con el diseño de las torres gemelas.
Ni siquiera soy estadounidense , pero entristece que ya no estén esas torres y la gran cantidad de pérdidas humanas que ocurrieron ese fatídico día.

This was posted on the 20th anniversary of the attacks. I visited the memorial that day. Believe it or not I actually walked down there from Central Park. When I got there I almost felt like I was going to cry. Especially when I saw the Tribute in Light. That's the same feeling I got watching this. I love this city. And I really wish I could've seen those towers for myself. I even asked my parents if I ever saw them with my infant eyes but they couldn't remember. I don't care what anyone says, these towers were so iconic to the NYC skyline. You did a wonderful job with this video, and you even picked the best music to go along with it. I wanted people to enjoy a flashback because our world is full of sad anniversaries and bad news everyday. Our countries, our communities, our souls needs a rest. We have run out of vision, of happiness, of energy to keep going forward... We have to go back in time and find ourselves through history... We have to remember how everyone was before that terrible attack on the towers... Whoever did this knew exactly where he was hitting. Twin Towers was more than an office building. People do not love the steel and glass. Its a place that connected the lives of thousand people, a place to work, a place to take a break, a place to learn dance and much more... When we say #neverforget we should not get in the trap of pessimism. We will never forget all those innocent people that were killed that day. We will show respect to their memory and we will talk about them to our children. But at the same time we have to remember our world before 9/11. We have to take our vision for a better world back... That vision is our weapon. And noone can take it back. If someone want to destroy the western civilisation we will respond with recreation.... And recreation is a method of bringing things back to their original place. Thats the reason those towers should have been rebuilt stronger... But now there is no point talking about it.. The way they faded away at the end gave me chills.
I chose this type of end for a specific reason.. This video was supposed to bring back all those beautiful memories prior to 9/11 (when the Towers were standing proudly and the life of every NewYorker was much much more better from the years following the 9/11 attacks)... All the destruction caused that day is deeply recorded in our minds but even the memory of what happened do really hurt people... So there is no point focusing to the destruction only... We have to remember the glory of the past an example for the future... That is the reason I created this type of tribute... We have to remember who we are, we have to bring things back to normal. And to do this we need to find the lost vision. These towers were physically destroyed of course but their idea is still present... So fading their silhouette reminds us that they are absent but at the same time present.

I was born in Russia, but when I first saw these towers and how they were collapsing, I was scared! And these towers were amazing ! these photos from vizheo reminded me of the frames of American films ! such nostalgia! if I had a time machine , I would have gone to America in the 90s ! to see these towers and new york.
I totally agree with you... If only we had a chance to go back to those great decades.... I was born in the 90's and I really appreciate all those things I was able to see with my own eyes.. Sadly the Twin Towers were not part of that... I never had the opportunity to visit them and sometimes I wish I was born one decade earlier... That way I would have able to visit NYC and the original WTC in the 90's...

I remember visiting there in 1997 and 2000. My sister was staying to earning her masters degree. Although I didn’t get enough time to visit the wtc because we had to leave soon I was able to see them in person at least. When I saw them in the horizon while going to Lady Liberty, it felt like I was in a movie. Still to this day it is hard to believe they’re gone❤😢

I was born in 2007 6 years after 9/11 I loved ny when I was a child and still to this day but one thing is certain I miss the twin towers the freedom tower is there today but ny will never be the same again

Most of the shots comes across the internet. At the end you see footage (at the end of 90’s - beginning of 00’s) from the time when the HD was released. Professional camera’s were tested for their abilities with shots all over NY. So we had a chance to see the Towers in HD (and imagine how it would be like to see them with our own eyes…)
I recognized many of those pictures as being from films and TV shows that had the Twin Towers in the background. Some that I've noticed in my own viewing (some probably in here as well) are Crocodile Dundee II, Sleepless in Seattle, some episodes of Murder She Wrote, The Runaway Bride, and many more. Whenever I see them on TV, I pause my DVR and just stare at those buildings again for a while before continuing with my movie or TV show. They were an iconic presence.

I have been watching videos about WTC and 9/11 for years and it was really hard to find it yes. I am not sure if the actual song was exactly the same with that but I know what my ears has to tell to my brain...my opinion is that this version is almost identical to the original one played on the Plaza. You can search YT for a video called ''WTC Center Stage''. There you can enjoy the whole soundtrack.

These towers sadly no longer exist. But you may also try visiting other Twin Towers in China and Dubai which are top 10 tallest. Oh, Petronas Twin Towers is the best choice for all of you to vist if you really like twin towers.
Sadly it’s not about the Twins in general. It’s about the exact Twin Towers of the WTC, in the exact same place. And in the exact time when they stood (every decade after their completion is unique for a different reason). It’s the whole society that changed, the whole system & history after their collapse. Everything they represented was somehow gone, and we are searching for decades all those things lost…. Sadly, every other Twins can NOT replace the original Twin Towers, unless we talk for a complete recreation…

0:15 the shots zooming up the towers are from the movie “The Walk”. It’s about the guy that walked between the towers on a wire. It’s a wonderful love letter to the towers pre-9/11 and captures their beauty perfectly.

@@LauraRN713 At the original WTC Plaza there was musing playing all the time. During the 9/11 attacks music kept playing ironically while the towers were being destroyed and evacuated.... And the saddest part of all is that the music played while people were jumping out of the towers to their death... Although the area arroung wtc had strict measures and restrictions a videographer called Torri Gemelle entered the WTC Plaza to shoot what was happening arround... He recorded the situation at the Plaza, the debris all arround and people that tried to climb down the towers unsuccessfully.... During these shots we hear two songs being played (She is a woman to me & How deep is your love).. Of course he couldn't keep recording with danger for his life but this is the last video we have from the WTC Plaza about 20 minutes before the South Tower collapse.. The music had stopped of course in that time, so in this 20 minute runtime there were possibly more songs that played to the plaza (provided the fact that there was no power outage).
So the be precise the instrumental version of How Deep is your Love is the last KNOWN song ever played there..
There are many version of this song. For years we have been searching for the exact same version that played on the Plaza with no result. But 2 months ago on Christmas users discovered the songs on a satellite channel... So the songs were not playing with a CD on the plaza. They were transmitted via a sattelite channel there... This is a huge success and all those tracks found are part of the 9/11 story... They were lost for 20 years and now they are back to the light.. If you want I can send you the links to hear the playlist... We are 99% sure that this is the list that was used on the Plaza..!

Imagine an evening at the World Trade Center Plaza, a coffee at the Windows on the World, a walk through the outdoor observatory of the South Tower, and then a walk through the WTC Mall... It's difficult when you realize how happy people were in the 90's...
