  • Before the One World Trade Center spire dominated the New York City skyline there were the Twin Towers. Every part of the city was a showcase for the towers. Osama bin Laden knew the importance of the towers and how they stood as a symbol of American success and prosperity. September 11, 2001 they became a target. Thousands died when the buildings collapsed. The new spire stands at 1776 feet as a statement of American resolve.

My father worked in the South Tower, and in it’s footprint I was raised. Spending countless days there, at the toy store, buying all the Thomas toys.
Finding it hard to believe even 17 years later that they’re gone. They felt permanent, and that was the skyline I long to see. Their presence and absence is forever felt. Those towers were so cool, man. I can’t even describe how I feel watching this video, sad, very sad.

My biggest regret in life was not visiting it when I was in NYC with my dad on the saturday before that happened (saturday 8th 2001) when i was five years old. We were in NYC for the day. My dad had always been insisting that I had to visit the twin towers with him sometime. It was the afternoon and after a late lunch, he again asked me if I would go visit it with him. I told him I was too tired and didn't feel like waiting in line for tickets to go to the top, but I promised him that I would go with him the next saturday. I still feel so bad to this day for not fulfilling that promise and I deeply regret not going. I still have a vivid memory of looking up at those massive buildings from the street and trying to take a picture with my tiny polaroid camera, but being frustrated because I couldn't fit both if the buildings together in the frame. I really wanted to go to the top, and I seriously contemplated it for a while, but I ultimately decided I was too tired and wanted to go home, thinking that I would be able to go the next week. I started the next week at kindergarten excited to go visit it the next weekend with my dad, and he bought us tickets in advance so we wouldn't have to wait on line. But by tuesday, both buildings vanished. I would give anything to re-live that moment of looking up at those beautiful buildings.

It is by no means Strange , Odd or Weird Kas ....... I'm also tearing up with this Video and this is March of 2016. 😢
These Towers were so Magnificent in size and became such a recognizable symbol to Everybody when thinking of New York. And then when they fell ...... these Twin Towers became a symbol of Strength , Hope and Love ... as we all tried to " Pick ourselves Back Up " and show the world that the Plan to weaken this Country by Evil and Terrorist Acts ..... only proved to do the Exact Opposite.
I personally didn't know anyone who lost their life on that Day , yet like so many others .... it FELT like I did.
May we ALL Never have to experience something like that Day in September .....and for those who lost Family on 9/11 😢 ..I can only pray that with Time ... the pain has begun to Ease and the memories of your Loved ones Stay Bright.!!

The spire on One WTC has still *not* been finished to this day in regards to the cladding that leaves it entire exposed. Also, rebuilding the Twin Towers would have shown the *perfect* resolve by restoring a symbol that was lost. Thereby paying tribute the victims and moving on in the right direction.

It tears my heart apart how missing these buildings is like missing a person such as your mother, or father, grandfather, or grandmother. How we sometimes taken them for granted while they were here with us, and miss them when they are just a memory. RIP to all those that lost their lives that horrible day, and God bless all their families, and friends as they still hold this heavy weight in their souls for many years...
