Thank you for talking about the importance of heartworm prevention in dogs. I have a 12 years old German Shepherd. We live in southern part of USA and heart worm disease is very common here. When I was a teenager, one of our dogs got heartworm. He was the best dog we ever had, so my parents spent several thousand dollars to save his life.
After several months of treatment, he recovered, but he suffered permanent organ damage. A few years later, he was blind and deaf, and his kidneys were failing.
During the last week before we took him to the vet to end his suffering, I slept with him on the floor of my dad's study, so that he wouldn't be alone and scared during the night.

You inspired me to have a spa day with my beloved rescue lady, I bought all the fancy professional products (for her) and we took a bath together - last time, she wasn't very enthusiastic, this time, maybe seeing me doing the same thing to myself (applying some goo on my head-fur 😅) and having better footing ( anti slip mat and two layers of thick,pre-wetted with warm water blankets for extra padding made her more comfortable. We wash teeth with the same ultrasonic toothbrush...for pets (turns out,it's exactly the same as for humans except packaging and higher price - I'd never splurge on it if it weren't for her quick plaque problem - tiny teeth - and delicate gums that bleed too easily from normal electric toothbrush - if Your pet has the same issues I highly recommend that investment, keeping teeth healthy especially for smaller dogs, with smaller teeth that can't or don't like harder chews and eat soft diet (cooked or raw) that don't provide enough friction to scrap the plaque buildup on teeth. Some breeds are highly predisposed for teeth problems even if their diet is excellent - ph of their saliva, tooth spacing and size etc. play a role too so sometimes washing Your dogs teeth is a necessity - We try to keep a schedule of at least every other day or daily and she's got a Hollywood smile 😁). Her fur is like silk after the conditioner, I even tidied her paws and slightly grinchy feet, conditioned her paw pads and nails - couldn't get the cologne on time but she still smells divine from the extra protection layer from ticks and bugs besides the Bravecto tablets in form of coconut oil based lemon extract and lavender essential oil product (I was sceptical but the smell doesn't bother her at all and we never had found even a dead tick in her fur). She said polite thank You to the dryer by running away so a lot of towels later she's drying up belly up next to a radiator - maybe a happy hoodie would change her mind and next time I'll be able to give her the Celebrity Blowout You always give Your clients ❤️She looks fabulous, her butt looks better than mine and tidying up her belly made her look at least few pounds lighter. She's glossy, she's gorgeous and she's snoring happily on my side of the bed (closer to heat source, belly up. I'm so happy watching You work Your magic convinced me to give professional products a try - I didn't bathe her too often in fear of chemicals in the cheap dog shampoos giving her allergies (and well, they smell worse than she ever did before bath ..),drying her skin and stripping her outer coat of the protective layer but now I hope I can do it more frequently and allow her to not only tolerate but enjoy the process before her advanced age increases the need for more frequent help with keeping sanitary areas hygienic. Thank You Vanessa ❤️❤️

My Keeda knew I was pregnant before we did. She was constantly under foot, in my lap, in my bed 😂 she was the absolute sweetest girl in the world and absolutely sensed the human emotions

Such good doggos! My dog, Sam used to go to the vet every six months to test for heart worm among other tests for well visits and he would get a heart worm preventative via a shot. I hope next time Hercules gets tested, he’s heart worm free

heartworm chewables (and flea and tick topical) is such a must for us, the only thing that has changed is the brand. we used to use heartguard, but have switched to interceptor in the last few years. and still have them tested once a year during annual exam, just in case, cause that stuff is horrifying.

Thanks for the info on Malamutes and their sensitivity. It sure explains a lot about our boy. Don't think I would have known except for your video. :)
