Excellent tutorial. Worked a treat. These redundant files were driving me mad. One thing to add - rather than removing one by one, you can do the one command and then list the files, separated by comma with no spaces either side of comma.
Thanks for making this video. THREE YEARS AGO... Still works, happy to say. Ditto to all the previous comments. Those un-removable files were most annoying.
For those who don't see the other file name in the directory, try renaming the folder itself, then relaunch it, and it should appear. At least that's what did it for me. Thanks for the help my good man!

thx for the video, very helpful quick question: what does it mean if there arent any name for a folder in the command prompt? (like what you talked about at minute 2:51)?
If you rename the file and rerun the prompts, it'll assign your file a new "real" name. I got it that far, but my file still won't delete for me (yields a "the system cannot find the file specified" message) 🥴

Here's a quick tip: sometime you can't delete folders even with this method because the program you uninstalled left some folders around and also more imortant: left a process in background who keeps those folders from being deleted. You must kill the process before. And then easy to delete tham without cmd.

Hello! Everybody here says it works great, but it doesn't work for me; I tried to delete the 'undeletable" folder from a ZORIN OS (which I booted in trial mode from a USB drive); but that action only created a folder around it called '.Trash-999', situated directly in my C: drive, which is also undeletable. Then, trying to follow this tutorial, executing the 'dir /x' command in the command prompt, it shows it only as a file name, not as a directory. Therefore I cannot use the final command (rmdir /q /s [folder]). Any suggestions for how I can surpass this obstacle, please?
