Serum is massive. In every way possible. Haven’t used it yet but looking forward to spending a day with it sometime soon. You and AU 5 Are fantastic teachers. Articulate and you don’t waste words or um’s or ah’s and stutters and 🥴. you know what I’m talking about. Thank you.
I still don't get how people come up with these chords and melodies. I'm just not sure how to learn that. Everyone makes it look so effortless, but i know it's just years of practice. i spend hours just trying to make a few chords sound good.
For people saying the wavetable "ESW Rigid" isn't included as a default, you can always draw your own. Click on the little pencil on the top right of the oscillator waveform, set the grid to 0 by 0, and left click/drag to draw a rough copy that sounds the same.
Echo do you have a tutorial or recommendations for chord tricks? How to make them sound more full, which kind of chords you should use for which kind of genre/progression, etc.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS!!! I've been trying to get into making EDM stuff and Future Bass ever since I got Serum and this video, has helped me by informing me. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! This is awesome, keep up the good work, much love from me to this channel.
Amazing tutorials, highly entertaining and useful. Do you have any ideas of how to make a progressive house lead/drop. Not many tutorials out there that shows he actual process of the lead sound in Serum. You are doing great things, thank you!
Hey Echo Sound Works, thanks so much for this useful info! Just got your Snake Lazers presets, looking forward to using them. I was wondering what sample rate you usually use when you are working on projects? Like does 44.1 KHz work for you or do you prefer to go higher if you can?
wish you would explain where you got the wave forms from. considering the second osc is not a default, right from the start I am confused. seems a lot of tutorials strive for the most basic steps yet completely skip over them.
Not sure if anyone here can help me. I loved the video, learned a lot. But does someone know how Skrillex made his fat saw chords? I‘m talking about the fillers from drops like Kill Everybody, Cinema Remix, Still getting there, etc.. Thank you in advance.
a par excellent tutorial my guy! Thanks the such clarity in demonstration and teaching!! :) :) Just purchased Serum last night! It is the best by far I've used in Logic Pro X
So you can have a good supersaw in one serum track with all the oscillators like this, or should you layer multiple tracks? if so what's the best way to go about that
Totally left out LP filter envelope and amp envelope modulation, like super important if you’re trying to get that really tight pluck sound with the filter down, which to me is a key piece of a really tight supersaw. Also this is not the best way to get the JP8000 or Virus sound (or close to) if that’s the type of supersaw you’re going for, which imho is the best supersaw sound, really the supersaws that made the supersaw famous because of their killer sound.
This is a great tutorial overall, but I really wish you'd explained more what was going on around tip #5 when you started adding filters and modulating things. By that point, even with you briefly explaining what was going on I'd lost the sound you were going for and couldn't for the life of me figure out what I was doing differently to you. I really wish more people who are explaining things wouldn't do this, the actual info overall here is great but when trying to follow along and things are "just added" beforehand and then given very brief explanations that can literally be the difference between someone following along or dropping off because it doesn't sound similar.
I have the same processor and with more complex sounds it’s best to disable every other plug-in on the page 1st, and if that doesn’t work then make it one less voice until it stops or make the LFO less complex.... But if u don’t want to do that then I have noticed that when I bounce down the audio in non-Realtime it catches it without any bugs or glitches on sounds there are more heavy on the processor, also you could try having more ram if you still have slots✌️👍🏼
EveryPixelCounts did you change the phase settings? What octave are you in? Can your CPU handle Serum? Did you play a dissonant chord with it? I know it’s a year old comment, but still.
It’s not natively in Serum, I think it’s in some kinda Chainsmoker pack you need to buy. But’s not necessary at all, you can use the wavetable editor inside Serum if you want to replicate it.
I mean, in terms of wavetable synthesis Serum really has no peers. But if you're interested in other kinds of synthesis, I've seen producers like Mr. Bill make some incredibly cool sounds with Zebra2. www.u-he.com/cms/zebra There's a fully functional free demo (meaning you can even save presets) called Zebralette on their website, which is essentially just a single Zebra2 oscillator which has a few LFOs and effects. What's extra cool is should you decide to purchase it, you can use your saved Zebralette presets in a Zebra2 patch. www.u-he.com/cms/zebralette

ever since discovering these tutorials by echo sound works, my life has changed, my skin's cleared up, everything's great now
Video is 4 years old and I’m here for the first time learning so much! Thanks bro. 👊🏻
I don't know if my supersaws even deserve to be called supersaws after watching this
Lol
That's some amazing chords at 7:26
Thanks!
I still don't get how people come up with these chords and melodies. I'm just not sure how to learn that. Everyone makes it look so effortless, but i know it's just years of practice. i spend hours just trying to make a few chords sound good.
Matt lol it's just future bass
Jake Check the keyboard
EbMaj9, BbMaj9/D, Gm7 Bbmaj9/D again
Not needing to be complicated while designing sound makes me relieved
i love the way you talk because it helps me really solidify these technical terms that i don't always know
echo you are the man. realize i'm a little late to the party. thank you so much for these, super helpful.
You are the most generous guy in the 21st century music scene..This video is BOMB..
I've been having trouble with my super saws. This really helped me out
Glad it helped Ryan!!
Really helped me mix my supersaws better! Thank you so much!
nicely wide-ranged tutorial for a specific type of sound. wished there were more videos like this, thanks man!

Great Tutorial Echo Sound Works, I Can't wait to get home and start playing Serum 👍🏽✌🏽🎛
Thanks Zack hope you're doing well
This is one of the best Serum tutorials I’ve come across. Thank you.
Echo do you have a tutorial or recommendations for chord tricks? How to make them sound more full, which kind of chords you should use for which kind of genre/progression, etc.
I don't but that is a great idea for a video :)
hey bro did you find something?
When drawing out your wave table how do you get that curved line?
Mr Sam feat. Claud9 - Cygnes has a magnificent supersaw..💯💯🙌🙌
the chord you play a lot (ex. 7:15) with this particular super saw reminded me hard of the song Slasherr by Rustie
Great vid, thanks!! I'm late to the Serum party and your vids have helped tremendously!
This video... Is the best tutorial I've seen in a while!!! Thank you for this so much!!
Nice vid... tip #7 in global settings look to the right and change oscillator quality to 4x and lock the control (if you’ve got the CPU)

Thank you for sharing you're knowledge with us. I wish you great success ! ✌

I don't use this program but damn I learned a really good amount about how to not only make better saws but better chords as well. Thanks man!
2020, Supersaws don’t care what year it is🥛🍪 thanks ADSR peeps
Amazing tutorial
@ around 3:20 you talk about the original supersaw, what are you actually talking about here ? the Roland JP-8000 ?
Brilliant video
May you do a video on how to make the sound from kindred godspeed at 2:00. I think it is a saw but it sounds diffrent from what you just showed us.
Check out the Roland SH01 ... if one wants the SUPER SAW/ That too polyphonic !
My brain just expanded wildly wide with insight from this video! lol thanks a lot 🙏🏽
4:52 Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms.

where can you get these ESW wavetables?
yeah im also searching for your "ESW Rigid" preset...in which pack can i find it?
You can find "ESW Rigid" in the "Chainsmoking V1" pack from Echo Sound Works ;-)
how would you draw it?
it's not using the stock shapes
@@primarydisguise4327 draw in any LFO, press alt and drag it into the wavetable 1 or 2
Do you guys have a video for mud bases that would work well and layer nicely with these technique?
OMG
This was just what i needed to know
Thank so much for this awesome tutorial !
Supersaws are love, Supersaws are life

Usually 44.1khz for me! And I hope you like Snake Lazers :)
cool thanks! Digging into the presets today loving the samples and making a track with the LD Carribean Short right now, nice presets!
Why i wasn't able to find this few years back! ...... but Nice Supersaws man
Awesome tutorial!
Very well done Mr ADSR. : )

I Agree..I dont have that form
I think it's the Echo Soundworks Chainsmoking V1 pack!
lollllll i saw this and it was like
"so lets move on to the next tip"
(ad starts) unison, unison, unison, unison
Insane! Midi PAaack!
Awesome tutorial, keep it up! 😎
He is not dumb... He puts the ESW preset so as we have to buy it from his website to get the same sound.
Thanks Echo. Good stuff.
WOW Beautiful preset !
So helpful! Thanks man

Multiple layers for sure
I can already do this, and for free! Sawtooth Wave + TAL Chorus LX = awesome sounding supersaw and does'nt sound like a swarm of bees!
awesome stuff. thanks!
Woah there, thanks for all this helpful stuff! :D
Really nice! Thanks
good looks bruh
Dude, I swear you are Ian Hubert from my Blender training tutorials, same voice same speech speed, same training style. Secret identity “Echo” ?
Thank you
no way haha! at 7:26 he plays the same exact chords of "First Time" by Seven Lions & Slander, which just barely came out in 2018. Thieves lmao
lol
it's slander what did you expect lmao
I mean there are only a few chords that sounds good u may just play a random chord and it might be a chord some guy made a song with :P
amazing
I love your voice!! And the tuts :)
I love you bro! Your videos are so helpful!! Keep it up xD

anyone know where to get that rounded saw from?
wish you would start froms crath i dont have that wavetable in osc b
man thanks u
Now I shall go ahead and make my prototype super(inferior)saw into a better supersaw
where to get those wavetables you're using?
Do I still have to layer these with other sounds or is it unnessecary?
This sound is very layered. But in case you want a different sound you could do it.
Totally left out LP filter envelope and amp envelope modulation, like super important if you’re trying to get that really tight pluck sound with the filter down, which to me is a key piece of a really tight supersaw. where can i find that ESW Rigid wave that you used in ocs B
Whats the name of the preset for this supersaw?
I miss sylenth. I wish it would go onsale I would totally buy it for 50$. But 150 is insane for an old synth
What CPU do you have?! This sound kills my FX-6350 (yeah hate on AMD all you want)
AMD's newest cpu's are great. But I would reccomend a more powerful cpu for music production
Matt ryzen is where it's at.
it kills my shitty i3 core processor. i hate this thing lol
I switch to sylenth or ES2(Logic) for supersaw.
I have the same processor and with more complex sounds it’s best to disable every other plug-in on the page 1st, and if that doesn’t work then make it one less voice until it stops or make the LFO less complex.... i made some nice midi chords. but when i tried this preset. it doesn't sound as good at all :(
is this preset downloadable?
Mine sounds gritty-ish any reason why this might be happening?
EveryPixelCounts did you change the phase settings? What octave are you in? Can your CPU handle Serum? Did you play a dissonant chord with it? I know it’s a year old comment, but still.

could somebody please tell me a synth, which does one thing better than serum? i want to buy an extra one because i'm using serum to often
Hey! If the tool is right for the job use it!
I love in no particular order:
Diva
Massive
UVI Falcon
Sylenth
Form
Creddills Soundcloud FM8 is still a massive powerhouse for me and has endless potential for tons of sounds.
