    I made a DIY foot pedal from ply with springs / leather flap (it's amazing how much leather you get out of an old sofa :-)). Eventually I will make a video on how to construct.
    I placed a piezoelectric disk at contact surface and wired into 1/4" jack them run that into drum brain. No physical drum head. Alas I am no drummer - just got an DM5 kit for mid life crisis 10 years ago - liked it so much i got another brain module then started making own -drums. Need to make more time to practice - for sure drumming is a highly underated skill. much harder than it looks / sounds.
    Love your channel - you are one very creative dude. Great stuff.

      @@demonicsweaters I recall I mentioned it here - 1:35 in ruclips.net/video/gTTCw3GH90g/видео.html
      I will make some time to make a better video just on the kick drum pedal - I need to look up where and give credit where it is due regarding the pedal design. Instead of make / break use some rubber / foam / piezo - experiment with thickness and trigger sensitivity. Not quite sure how to get the feel of a real drum pedal but to be fair one can get an ordinary pedal and hook up the piezo in appropriate place. Maybe build a ply / foam wall and out piezoelectric disc there?

    The NE-10's are ridiculously expensive, but the NE-1's are even worse. One rubber foot, yes one, is $43.99 right now. So two noise eaters and the 5 rubber feet for a single bass and hi hat is nearly $550. If you're going to go this route, it would be better to make two pieces of mdf for the hi hat and kick drum, calculate the weight, and buy the appropriate amount of sylomer. Or do this...

    Happy Thanksgiving!🦃 My cat knocked my drink over and ruined my drawing so I won’t be entering the contest. I received my midi to usb cable yesterday so I now have a lot to learn about DAWS and VSTs.

    You could try putting some weight in the bass drum, maybe stuff it full of weighted blankets or something to stop the swaying.

    Good! Now beaters that would take the noise (somewhat) out of the bass drum pad.

    Yeah I like the bravery of using a razor knife on a drum throne ...........I don't think I could pull that one off ! I'd have to resort to another hard surface somewhere out there.....Nice vid nice idea.

    Can I make a hole in the pet tennis ball and put it on my kick drum beater?

    • @demonicsweaters
      @demonicsweaters  3 года назад +1

      putting it over an existing beater probably wouldn't work, but if you had just the beater shaft, you might be able to make something.

    Why don't people just use pieces from a foam mat like the ones for doing exercises on or the one we're sleeping in a tent on? There are many kinds of foam, and thiknesses. Mount a piece under the kick pedal or cut disks and glue them from place on the pedal just as the tennis balls. Why not that?

    • @demonicsweaters
      @demonicsweaters  3 года назад +3

      Foam doesn't work so well because of it being dense and having a lot of contact surface. Tennis balls seem to be the best because of the air, or the fact there's much less surface contact since they are hollow. Many people have tried the foam approach and all say the same thing that it doesn't work.

    • @Seneslau07
      @Seneslau07 3 года назад

      @@demonicsweaters That makes sense and thought of that when I mentioned about some foam disks so same principle as bals. Something soft here and there, lots of air between...maybe only testing we will find out.. Thanks!

    • @demonicsweaters
      @demonicsweaters  3 года назад +1

      @@Seneslau07 the thing is, even if they're disks, you're still getting more surface contact than tennis balls cut in half. Since with the balls, you're basically only getting a thin circle on one side, and a small point of contact on the other side.

  • @babymonkeymind

    did you find that those smaller sized tennis balls absorbed more vibration that the standard size ones (like you placed under that hi hat stand)? the smaller ones do have a shorter profile, and i wonder if using more of these work better to dissipate the vibrations.

    • @demonicsweaters
      @demonicsweaters  3 года назад +2

      they both seem to work equally well, but I prefer the smaller ones because they're less bouncy.
