- this is the history of walkman in 40 years of evolution.
The original Walkman, released in 1979, was a portable cassette player that changed listening habits by allowing people to listen to music of their choice on the move. It was devised by Sony founders Masaru Ibuka and Akio Morita, who felt Sony's existing portable player was too unwieldy and expensive.

I was a salesman back in 1979 and handled the original Sony Walkman, which was selling as the Soundabout.
I like the minimalist approach of Walkmans from 1988! I wish I could still own one today.

I have bought an ipod nano gen 6 (2010) and I wanted to relive the mp-3 experience so I bought a NW-45 walkman in 2019 or so but I would love to buy an other one and this helps me with that. But also the fact that you show all the previous ones (with release date!!!) very well done thank you! Sorry for my meh English i am not an native speaker.
The idea of buying not any mp-3 player but an actual walkman was because I saw the movie Guardians of The Galaxy 2
Entonces de acuerdo a esta cronología, fue hasta 1985 cuando surgieron los primeros audífonos tipo chicharito ( ya no de diadema), en 1987 los primeros reproductores de CD portátiles, principios de los años 90s los walkman de cassette digitales, en 1995 los primeros mini disc de el mercado, principios de el 2000 los primeros reproductores usb, mediados de los 2000 salen a la venta la primera gama de mp4 (con auriculares de excelente calidad cabe mencionar), y así sucesivamente la línea walkman de Sony siempre me ha encantado por su calidad de audio, Sony innovando como siempre, yo use los reproductores de cassette, los de CD, los mini disc, no tuve oportunidad de adquirir la línea mp4 por desgracia, ME GUSTA MUCHO SONY POR SU CALIDAD DE AUDIO NO LO CAMBIO POR NADA
this was awesome .. I have owned a few of those but didn't know since when they have existed .. and that Sony was making them until just 2 years ago

I think my grandad has the 2006 NW-S700F! I saw it today, and it still works as good as new lmao. He doesn’t use it much, since he doesn’t do much exercise anymore but it’s in a drawer, he has the blue one! :)

I don't see my sony walkman here, that thing could do everything! The best walkman I ever had. I remember when MDs were being advertised, I wanted 1 so badly but they were so expensive!

I had a Sony Walkman Radio and Cassette combo. It came in so handy on 9/11/2001 when I was working at the senior center near my house. I could do my job and keep up with the latest updates on the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
NW-HD3 in black with a Toshiba 20GB HDD. That was some slick stuff.

Yo tengo mi NWA35...y funciona de maravilla...igual tiene un sonido espectacular....no me gusta el streaming ni Spotify etc,y la música que no puedo comprar o no esta disponible en el mercado la descargo de Internet y la paso a este reproductor y solo eso me basta para hacer mis playlist!

many simpler models are missing. though it's understandable. also sony produced walkmans which were not so portable but were more like small horizontal cassette decks.
