I remember watching. This dude when I was like 9 years old when he was in high school, now he is a D1 athletes. At just shows hard work and dedication pays off
I’ve been a big fan of Maryland athletics since elementary school, and still on it in high school. It’s so cool to see a channel like this that shows the insides of a program that I’ve been following for so long. Keep up the content
Playing is very fun, but watching only gets fun if it’s a close game, like the bottom of the 9th situations, or if it is a postseason game. I’m 14 and am hoping to eventually at least play for a college, if not go farther.
Not saying it doesn’t take any skill, but practice looks like a lot of standing around and doing an easy task like fielding a ground ball and waiting for your next one. Even hitting, they hit a few, then 10 mins later they are sitting waiting around for their next round of hitting. Not like they go in there and literally hit 2 hours straight.
I pitched on this field when I was 14 years old starting in my very first legion game. 1st time pitching on a major league mound, first time pitching with no back stop, under the lights playing with older kids. Those were the days.
That drill at 3:50...so weird-never seen that before. I don’t know if I’m more impressed with the catcher or the guy hitting the line drives with machine precision
Hey TBC, I am a freshman varsity player over here at my high school. I am going to become a sophomore next school year and I just started watching your videos but I feel like I am going to like them a lot and I also feel like they are going to help me out for when I play college baseball. 🤙
As a former baseball player, even played intramural baseball during college and we used full/mlb size field and umpires, it stinks to see a lot of colleges going to turf, it’s gotta stink the most for the players. Even though our university didn’t have any intercollegiate sports of any kind, it was nice to play on real grass and dirt, no turf at all. The mlb size field is there because the university used to play intercollegiate, and for a lot of other sports too.
A few things...that shot of the turf infield made my turf toe hurt! My second thought was no long toss at the beginning? Work that into your routine to avoid those elbow and shoulder issues. Everyone assumes my arm issues were from college but it came after in beer league softball from not warming up or stretching properly. Great video really took me back.
4:30 - (imagine this scenario) Texas Rangers, at home and winning, 8-1 in the top of the 9th, 3-2 count on the batter, 2 outs, no runners on base and the batter hits a solid and sharply hit, one-hop line drive towards the shortstop… now, could you imagine someone like Corey Seager fielding a ground ball and then high stepping it, like they are doing in this drill, into a throw to first to finish out the game!?!?!? That would be absolutely insane… and COOL AS A MOFO!!!
The catcher in the middle is trying to catch the ball and put down a tag while the other two catchers try to distract him. It is designed to help them on plays at the plate.
I know that sports exercises are hard, but they are important. When doing sports, they have a huge risk of getting hurt. Doing these drills, it does not take away the risk, but it reduces it.
Good luck man, I’m tryna do it too. Most kids are gone already so we’ve already done well but if all goes perfectly I hope we’ll see each other in the big leagues one day✌️
Curious that I see beautiful new Rawlings gloves instead of Under Armour. D-1 places have interesting politics of sponsorship. A family member of mine played at a D-1 spot with TPX sponsorship and had to black out logos on certain gear. That said I would love to be at one of these places on swag day when a new shipment of gear shows up.
Any advice for going D1? I play 7a freshman baseball, I’m a catcher, 2B, and OF. This practice seemed structured very similar to my high school practices. I really wanna play for UAB or another D1 school and further my baseball career.
NavalSEALSniper & Sports best advice is to go JuCo. I know there is little appeal to going to community college and playing baseball, but that is where you can turn a mid level baseball player into a D1 athlete. Going to school in the PNW and playing in the NWACs was the best decision I could have made for myself as a baseball player. Not only are you going up against rosters which are filled with D1 and even pro level talent and arms, but there are a few JuCo teams out there that could beat a fair amount of power 5 schools.
What happened to real a infield? The ground is too perfect and predictable. I feel it would hurt this team when they play on clay that can get beat up and make the balls direction and spin change
Love this game so much! With that said, I am a firm believer that at this level these kids should be playing with wood. There's an art to using a wood bat an the transition should start here. Just my humble opinion.
Lol to the kid who said these kids aren’t good..... lol they’re playing in the big 10 at Maryland university...... they must be pretty good.
Yeah man, they're ALL studs. The worst player on the team was probably still one of the best players in his county in HS.
They're out there making all those drills look easy.
Not relevant to this but did you go to Cascia?
Dalton Turner The only people who think it’s easy to go to a D1 school like Maryland are the ones who haven’t ever tried to play at that level
Maryland is like the Citadel of the Big 10 though 😂 I’m joking, I’m a UVA fan and went to JMU.
Anyone who thinks baseball isn't hard either has never put on a glove, or is really good at it.
The best players are the ones that knows most how hard it actually is.
I don't even play baseball, no fucking clue why this is in my recommended
Louie Bili • 17 years ago • edited same here don’t know anything about this stuff 😂
Agree even though im 9 almost 10 so i cant say otherwise. P.s. i have 4-5 years of baseball experience
Big facts
Y’all should start posting these often, and game day vlogs and stuff
I’ll be making them frequently throughout the season
Watch ole miss baseball’s “The season”. It’s a great series.
I remember watching. This dude when I was like 9 years old when he was in high school, now he is a D1 athletes. At just shows hard work and dedication pays off
Christian Llopis don’t think he actually plays for Maryland, just filming them
Correct, I'm not on the team
1:09 you have no idea how satisfied I am that the cage didn’t knock over the bottles.

It’s funny how people think baseball takes no skill/it’s boring, they clearly haven’t played it if they think either of those
@@fatdingo8251 I kind of agree I like watching regular season sometimes.
Clown comments yeah that’s true

It's boring to watch and that's why it's a dying sport.
Hey I’m loving these vids. As a former D1 player in the Northeast this brings back TONS of memories. Keep it up with this kind of content 👍🏻
Glad to hear it
that’s cool but i don’t remember asking
Tyler harrison who?
@@ntcentrelink450 😏

Right? What was that about?
I thinks its supposed to help the catcher get the ball even if someone is in the way? I really have no clue though
I love baseball so much and want to play in college so its cool to see what goes on at college practice
Ahhh practice foot strikes on hard 90s... man do I not miss college ball 😂
Nice video.. I remember playing at college park against Mt. St. Mary's (for some reason).. Dope field and bullpen. Terps were ACC back then
He never misses!

Baseball training is intense👏🏼 LOVE this sport
anyone who plays D1 baseball, or college baseball for that matter, has a lot of talent and skill...like alot more than your average player
1:10 that near miss was oddly satisfying
Good vid, I’ll try to get to more of your home games this year
I’m a baseball player myself, baseball is not an easy sport you need to be mentally smart & have good decision making & anticipate each play.
With baseball there is several key components required to be a great player you can't just say your good it takes hard work and a good attitude.
When’s the 1st game? It’s cold as shit in MD today
Justin Geis feb 14 in charleston
Justin Geis yes it is

They definitely do longtoss. I didn’t show it because it’s harder to see on camera.
@@TBCreviews I figured. That was first thing out of the gate for us GenXers...Great video and have a blast.
Maryland gonna have a solid baseball team this year as well #7 recruiting class in baseball coming in to terps 🐢
gotta make more of these this year
i remember when maxs brother was on the super regional team
That catchers gear is sick

2:04 is that dudes head broken?
I think he is practicing a catching drill, it helps so you don’t hit your neck
You’ve never played baseball before I see
That’s a drill for anyone fielding balls, It helps them keep a rhythm
The homie made it d1! Been watching since the little league World Series gear review
Haha, I'm not playing, just making videos.
As someone that goes to umd, tell these dudes to win a natty champ plz. Need a reason to party 🥺
Love the video. Good luck in the season. What is that drill with the 3 catchers about? Would love to know.
The catcher in the middle is trying to catch the ball and put down a tag while the other two catchers try to distract him. It is designed to help them on plays at the plate.
licey71 Focus drill.
Yup.. these finna blow up

Damn I thought I was good😂 it’s ok I’m about to grind my ass off
I’m playing high school ball, wanting to go pro. Hardest thing ever
William Embry thank you- Good luck also
Keep on grinding bro
Keep up the work
Good luck man, I’m tryna do it too. Most kids are gone already so we’ve already done well but if all goes perfectly I hope we’ll see each other in the big leagues one day✌️
Same man, trying to do the same thing. If we all keep up the hard work, maybe we’ll all see each other in the bigs someday
Thank you for showing
Love these videos
I don’t think people realize how far Maryland’s program has come in the last 10 years. Starting with John Szecf and now Coach Vaughn. Go Terps!
Absolutely! Erik Bakich too
Thank you for the video make me feel like I am there!
Awesome that’s my goal
i peep that iann dior in the beginning of the vid🥰🥰🥰
this field looks like it'd be fantastic to play on
Hey brother I love the video great job that must be awesome
Nice man!
I just want to know what’s on the ground at 6:05
This is dope imma subscribe
how about CJ last game with 5 shut out innings, home town boy for me
Bro last year at senior night I was there and maxwell Costes hit a foul ball at least 430 it just kept and kept going
Ayyye Tav Shahidi bro

It definitely gets complicated. Maryland had a deal with Rawlings for bats and gloves before under armour started making gloves, so they use Rawlings
What do the third baseman do in warmups and fielding
Do you know of MD still has a coach named Matt Swope? Was he there when you filmed this?
Yep he’s still coaching
Great vid! How about spending a little more time recording drills?? Give us coaches something to incorporate in our practices. Thanks!
I’m going to do dedicated videos for that pretty soon 👍🏼
👍🏻
Do they do any conditioning or anything after practice? If not how do they keep their bodies healthy and in shape?
Love it! Go Terps!!
This is really nice
4:22 I want to know more about pitchers’ throwing drill. PLZ let me know!!!!!!💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
I have a video all about pitchers on the channel
Hitting a baseball has literally been proven to be the hardest thing in sports

Quick question. How long have you been playing baseball?
My only question is how much time do these guys spend outside if practice working in their game?
Anyway you can make a d1 pitching vid?
I absolutely will
Do you guys make the pitchers set up for BP? Stupid pitchers... - from former college pitcher.
What kind of weird surface is that on the base path?
Just brown turf
Roughly how long did their practice last?
Can you show us all the gear you get
I’m only 14 in my opinion I’m pretty good I play shortstop and center the most and I play on 60 90 fields any advice to get better
chavis oh i know him he went to calvert hall and ive known him before that too
I’m from MD
Ok
What happened to real a infield? The ground is too perfect and predictable. I feel it would hurt this team when they play on clay that can get beat up and make the balls direction and spin change
much respect

How long are the practices
Yo you play for Maryland I see you
Do they prefer Heart of the hide or pro preferred?
It varies player by player. Probably more pro preferred
Are you on the IL right now?
I'm just a student. Not on the team
Am I the only one that thinks that it hurts to slide on turf field
3 years ago this was a dream of mine, it didn't come true but that's okay
What times are usually the practices?
Early afternoon
Hey do you know Hunter Parsons?
What’s you’re best tipto get to D1:
Work your tail off
Thanks
What do catchers do?
Why they using spikes on turf?
Some are using molded cleats. It’s just preference
Bro what is that song at 3:45 ?
What is the song name starting on 1:19
What was that song in the background first 20 seconds of video ?
Pancaked Shorty strings by iann dior ft gunna
Nice Walgreens hat

How long was this practice?
