When it comes to the legendary sannin, it's really easy to look at the trio and say that they're all roughly the same level of power and at one point in the series, that might very well have been the case, but as the series reached the end the power ups in the war arc to Tsunade and Orochimaru caused each to level up at an astonishing rate, making them far stronger than they had previously been in the series! So just how strong is Orochimaru at the end of naruto and the start of Boruto, he's easily the strongest of the legendary sannin and I'll show you why!

Juugo took flesh from Kabuto and placed it on Ankos curse mark as per Sasukes command.
Also it is baseless to say Orochimaru gained the power of the test subjects as Kabuto did or that his chakra reserves improved by absorbing from Kabuto. He just took his own chakra from Kabuto.

He is definitely not the strongest sannin. Itachi was sweating when he saw jiraiya. Against orochimaru he was holding philosophy speaches while trapping him with his own snakes. Orochimaru may be more versatile than tsunade but definitely not stronger. Also it was never confirmed that he can use all 5 chakra natures, i highly doubt that he can. In fact, he can only use 3
And 3 may be good for regular shinobs but there are ten thousand ninjas that can do that, 5 natures not even a hand full can do

It's arguable who's stronger between orochimaru and jiraya but Itachi running from jiraya doesn't prove anything

He literally 2v1 Jiraiya and Tsunade who are also Sanin with no arms. And even Kabuto who Orochimaru would have folded at the time was on Tsunade’s level. Orochimaru is far stronger than Tsunade.
Itachi was undercover and had no reason to actually kill Jiraiya. Itachi could have easily just whipped out Susanoo and clapped everyone present but didn’t because he never had any intention to actually kill anyone.
Also Sasuke would low diff Jiraiya by the time he fought Itachi. And Itachi if he actually tried would have low diff him. Stay off of whatever drugs you are on and stick to Two Piece…
Also if we are talking about the end of series versions of characters then it gets even worse. Orochimaru can summon Kage’s who are all individually stronger than Tsunade even if they are the 30% versions from part 1. And Sasuke has EMS and Itachi with just his MS still scales to and above him despite Sasuke literally having some of his power. You really need to stop watching Boruto Shippuden or whatever you watched because it wasn’t Naruto.
Part 1 Orochimaru was the best introduction to a villian ever in existance.

If the statement that Itachi made to kisame concerning facing pervy sage had validation it makes no sense that orochimaru was defeated so easily by him. While I definitely believe that orochimaru is and has always been the strongest of the legendary three.
One thing a lot of fans forget about Orochimaru is that even though he switched bodies after his arms were seated, he never got his powers back throughout Naruto part 1 and only got his powers back near the end of part 2.
That means, a nerfered Orochimaru went toe to toe with 4 Tails Naruto and only gave up the fight due to him needing to switch to a new body as his time in that current vessel was almost up.
Him being nerfed doesn’t matter, there’s literally nothing he could’ve done to stop 4 tails Naruto.
@@Rck-vert one of the unique things about Orochimaru is that his full powers are left up to debate. There is no concrete evidence, just speculation when it comes to just how many jutsu Orochimaru has learned.
He spent years mastering and developing jutsu, it is hard to believe that Orochimaru doesn't have other jutsu he could it use against 4 Tails Naruto. He had other jutsu in his fight but he couldn't use them due to arms still being sealed.

They need to bring him back to Boruto or have his own story line. They made so much hype of him and it made me appreciate his character and loved it. It would be cool if they show him experimenting on some Ootsuki flesh so he can take his power to the next level. Or better yet, he found the God Ootsuki body hidden in the center of earth. After all, if anyone can find A mythical body, it would be him.
I consider Jiryah to be the strongest because Orochimaru admits there is no way he beats Itachi but Itachi himself says that if he and Jiryah were to fight they would both die or get away severely injured. However, due to Jiryah being better suited for the long term fight and having skills to drag the fight out for that long, it could be argued he would win.
Remember, we never see Sage mode Jiryah fight the other Sanin or Itachi. Just Nagato and he killed 3 Pains as a result.
He also has a lot of knowledge. He obviously knew about the Otsutsuki early. Had his own karma (curse mark) and he is always switching vessels.
They need to implicate orochimaru more in the boruto story…. I would love to see orochimaru and amado in the same room. Orochimaru is very wise these days in boruto… he almost reminds me of itachi.

If it were up to me.. i would put Sasuke, orochimaru, Ibikki, and kakashi in the same room as amado. Shikamaru stays suspecting amado and continually asks him to reveal everything… but they should just use what they have and force the information out of him… wether he is protected by laws or not

We can only speculate how powerful he's become seeing the results of his experimentation in Boruto, essentially getting most of what he wanted in the main series and being allowed to do pretty much whatever he wants. He likely can use sage mode now that he's in a stronger body.

He was supposed to be the main villain of the og Naruto and he did a damn good job at that. I wouldn't say that. Dude was putting the work on Victor in boruto 175 and he outright left one lady to dust with attacks too fast to be seen. Naruto respected Orochimaru enough to tell sasuke to stay on guard and refused to come out of sage mode until he laid eyes on orochimaru and was sure he wasn't a threat, Boruto era Naruto at least sees sage mode as required. If he wanted to sense where he was, KCM was the better choice, not sage mode.

It’s called scaling, which is something that gets ignored too often in these. Jiryia in base is the weakest, in sage mode pre-Boruto he was the strongest and stayed there comfortably if we account for scaling.
Orochimaru in Boruto seems stronger than sage Jiryia, if we discount his clone.
Scaling makes sage Jiryia seem weaker than the story intended him to be portrayed as.
That fight was the pinnacle of fights when it came out, it wasn’t until everything went Madara and Alien war arc that the scaling went from 50 to 100 which made previous fights seem meh in comparison.
It’s genuinely why people think Naruto fans are dumb-fucks. I keep seeing tons of scaling comparisons in the comments that just don’t stack up and aren’t comparable. I also see definite statements “no debate, they get clapped, etc.” that’s idiotic when talking about these characters. It shows a lack of critical thinking and is flat out annoying.
It’s honestly baffling that folks never considered that characters started appearing a lot stronger when the scaling changed 🤦🏼♂️.

Took chakra from sage mode kabuto, regained the jutsu sealed into the reaper, gained hashirama cells from zetsu's body, and has the dna of the sound 5 which includes their kekkei genkai can be used...Jiraiya isn't topping that

and you are wrong firstly orochimaru didn't defeat hokage in a fair fight he used two hokages power first and the second to fight him and the hokage was fighting all three of them orochimaru, first hokage and the second hokage and still stopped orochimaru and saved the village.
Another point tsundae is nowhere near jiraya as jiraya was able to put up a fight with pain and his diffrent variants while she wouldn't be able to even stand up to him he just need to use his rinnegan to put her in his jutsu and she has got no counter to that and as of orochimaru he fought with jiraya mutliple time and it was mostly a tie so till jiraya was alive and we compare him to orochimaru and Tsunade jiraya is far stronger than tsunade and equal to orochimaru

If jiraya was alive in baruto he would have also been very very powerful as he would have been learning new jutsu and techniques.

It's also worth noting, he was technically more powerful and stronger than Itachi, but he was also less skilled and careful than Itachi at the same time. There's a reason why he wanted the Sharingan so badly afterall, but even then he wouldn't have the same prowess or mastery of it that a true Uchiha like Itachi had.

To be fair, Sarutobi could've easily killed Orochimaru earlier in the fight had he really wanted to. It wasn't until he finally got over his grief of the past and used up a good amount of chakra/stamina did he finally try to kill him.

Also, Naruto stated in Boruto when they were traveling to see Orochimaru that Orochimaru is now so powerful that he is someone who Naruto would rather not have to fight so it's important to him to keep their treaty. Naruto also said thar Orochimaru would be key in fighting against Otsutsuki.
