Hi everyone, in this video I go over what enmeshment is , as well as the dangerous effects of enmeshment on a human being in their adult hood.
Here are some of the long-lasting emotional effects that are directly tied to growing up in an enmeshed family. Try to think if any of these relates to you just in case if you want to learn if you’ve been affected by enmeshment while you were growing up in your family.
Mental Health Issues aka personality disorders like borderline personality disorder, or bipolar personality disorder
Self esteem issues because of lack of identity and years of being humiliated by the enmeshing parent.
Boundary issues and this is huge one with those who suffered enmeshment because they grew up in an environment where their boundaries were violated 24/7 - 365 by their own parent or parents in some cases.
Unstable adult relationships because of the instability they encountered during their childhood.
Victim mentality- When an enmeshed parent refuses to take responsibility for their actions and enmeshing behaviors , not only is the child walking around with a confused state of mind , almost like in a fog, like I said earlier, but it also teaches the child to be just like them and walk with a victim mentality that’s filled with shame. This is especially true if there is elements of parentification involved in the child-parent relationship.

💯💔My God … this is real and pretty spot on.. I still prey everyday that the truth will set me free somehow.. my parents still to this day have control over me -
The thing is - they will never , not once or ever will admit any wrong doing , or try to see things from my point of view..
yet I always forgive them, love them unconditionally.. I’m always in a secret battle within myself- is it me? Am I bad/ worthless.. etc.
I’m scared
