    Veteran OTR semi driver here.
    Side windows should roll down for toll booth and guard houses for checking in at ports and warehouses. It will necessitate putting your truck in park, coming out of the door and slowing down a cue of trucks. Which will piss off all the drivers behind you.
    Nowhere near enough storage inside for extra items a driver may need.
    Rear area should also have a fold-down bed built into the back wall. That way the driver can sleep in the truck running it in camp mode for HVAC while sleeping.
    Right now the truck is only good for someone who works a daily shift and doesn't drive Regional or OTR.
    I would like to purchase one but they need have it set up more for drivers who drive long distance and sleep in the rig.

      They are making these more for fleet service since they can afford to set up some of the infastructure, you can buy a 250k truck but very likely can't afford the 2 million doller charging system it needs for 30 minute charging.

There's no orange 3536 labeling or black and white class 9 hazmat sympbology on two opposing sides. Did they get special permission when registering the vehicles or what? Am I misinterpreting the requirement - which does seem to apply to truck tractors hauling cargo?
    I recognize that diesel trucks - even those with abnormally large tanks - don't need placarding either even though diesel fuel is a hazardous material when transported.

I have a back up camera on my trailer and i still have to look out the window to see where my trailer is so i dont take someones hood off. Very poor design mr musk. This truck will forever only deliver lightweight crisps and soda pop. Forget hauling refrigerated across county. 500 miles a day? Most guys do 600- 650 a day. How you gonna stop every 500 miles and wait for the truck to charge up? Time consuming. And in this industry, time is money. You only get 11 hrs a day in a 14 hr period to make it happen. The infrastructure just aint here. Guess thats why it only runs from sacramento to reno.

    • @miguellopez3392
      @miguellopez3392 9 месяцев назад +6

      You can see better because the camera are so spaced from the trucks side. 90% of truck routes are under 400 miles in the US, going above 500 miles is the exception, charging makes trips take 15% linger but save 300% on fuel for that trip, fuel being the most expensive thing to pay for. More than the driver, so it's really helpful, 70% of loads are also restricted by volume not weight, so the truck could easily do more than 500 miles on most loads.
      The infastructure isn't there but neither was the infastructure for electric cars, now we have millions on the road since tesla almost single handedly built the US EV charging Network, it will take 2 decades but it will happen.
