Washing fabric ~ also washes out the pesticides some countries use before shipping to prevent critters & bugs from eating the fabrics on their journey. Thanks for a look at a day in the life of Tashi outside of your studio workshop.
I'm so glad that I already have my own dragon hoard of fountain pens, so I don't follow you down that road this January. Unlike last January and you introducing me to support spindles. (I’m not unhappy about that!) I liked the snippets of you on the job and seeing that aspect of your life. Given the intensity of your work, I'm in awe that you do all the making and filming and editing you do. I'd be coming home and sitting and drooling the rest of the evening. Thanks for sharing your worlds and your joys. harpingJanet
I did a double take, cleaned out my ears like a good house-elf and then rewound when you said it was 6:55 on December 5th while walking around in broad daylight. I am now jealous of your daylight!
Omg, watching you pick for a case brought me back to my surg tech days! Definitely miss it sometimes, but gave it up to stay home with my one million gremlins and wouldn’t change a thing ♥️
@@stitchesandstarlight I was the designated ortho gal, but general surgery was always my favorite tbh, the surgeons were super fun to work with and nice compared to some of my ortho docs 😬😬 I was always the one to volunteer when an add-on ex-lap would pop up on the board at 3pm 😂
I love that you’ve gotten into fountain pens - I got into pens before knitting so I have a crazy pen/ink collection. They’re so fun though!! I like making sure my inks “go” with my pens - matchy or complimentary colors. Loving your vlogs
I vote for putting that Ferris wheel mushroom rose ink into one of the pens (maybe the beige/rose/mushroom rose colored pen) 🥰 #alsoabigpenandstationarynerdrighthere🙋♀️🤓
That red... Delicious. I also get a lot of decision fatigue haha. Back when I was writing with ink pens (although it was cartridges, that's what they made us use in school), I would just have a pen in every main colour and put ink that matched the general colour in it. The dragon hoarding is the good part of neurodivergence imo tho, it sparks so much joy to have shinies. And speaking of shinies, that last ink @.@ it's so beautiful.
I love your mola headband! My parents lived in Panama in the 70s and I grew up with some amazingly gorgeous molas on the walls and on couch cushions. They live deep in my visual brain and definitely influence my love of line and pattern. I'm also loving seeing other aspects of your craft practice!
What a small world! I love this story and I’m so glad you got to experience the color and story telling in the mola. My grandmother had some everywhere in her apartment and it was so nice to hear the stories of how she acquired each piece.
Morning Tazhi! I so look forward to your vlogs, they are the perfect way to start my day - I grab my coffee, spinning or knitting and enjoy your "vibes". Thank you for sharing with us. Your background music reminds me of Keola Beamer (Hawaiian slack key). If you haven't listened to him before you might enjoy it as well as Jeff Peterson and Riley Lee. Love the pens! I was huge into calligraphy for quite a while so I can relate.
I have one pen that's constantly inked and all the rest get put into some sort of rotation. (It's not consistent lololol--a few haven't been used in ages)
Hiya! I just wanted to say I am enjoying your Christmas vlogs. I treated myself to a 12-day roving advent (my first ever advent) and am having fun opening a new pkg every day. I wish I had known about the Inkvent calendar...that is on my radar for next year. Cheers!!!
Hi Tazhi, you mentioned that you were listening to “Spin Season”. I searched for that as a Podcast, but couldn’t find anything. Would you mind sharing what that is?
I have the one from Fiber Artist Supply Co on Etsy and its a weaving bobbin winder so you can only fit about an ounce on each bobbin but I like it for spindle spinning which is why I bought it. For bigger spins, it might be tedious to have that many bobbins before plying.
If there isn’t chaos are we even crafters 😝
That purple is gorgeous!!! Never cut fabric late night cause it just leads to tears and having to purchase more fabric.

It was great to meet you last week, all caught up on vlogmas and am thoroughly enjoying them.
It was very nice to meet you as well! Thanks for saying hi and keeping me company for a few blocks.

Winter is apparently a myth in NYC - it was 55 and sunny all day yesterday!

Hey, that’s super cool though! What kinds of cases did you enjoy doing the most?

I also assumed that the Kaweco pens were from Japan. Jetpens skew. LOL.
I'm excited about your quilted Ilford Jacket plan. That sounds so cozy.
I think the inability to make an ink decision is a pen thing! I have a bunch of pens, and have a hard time deciding on which inks to use.

We have the same color scrubs at my hospital. I’m a PACU nurse .

I will put it on the list - I haven’t heard of these artists but I love the vibe of this background music so that sounds great.
Now I'm more intrigued by pens and ink😀🤦🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️
it is a slippppppppery slope, my friend. slippery indeed.
Do you do all of your editing just with the trackpad? You're a hero.
I do and I keep saying I should buy a mouse and I keep being silly and forgetting 😒😒😒

Cheers, and happy spinning!
dang, totally need to try to get inkvent 2023!
There are still a few sellers that have them - I found mine at a local pen shop at a discount so I got pretty lucky.
Hi Tazhi, you mentioned that you were listening to “Spin Season”. I searched for that as a Podcast, but couldn’t find anything. Would you mind sharing what that is?
It’s the album Stick Season by Noah Kahan. It’s one of my favorites and is always on repeat when I’m resting at home.
Curious which weaving bobbin winder you use and if you would recommend it for winding singles for spinning.

Hmmmm… turning into dragons and hoarding pens = Pendragon? 🤔
