About 20 years ago I bout a $200 set of clay chips called “all in “ that came in a decent black metal case and honestly even though they were not top of the line chips I loved em. I look all the time and can’t find a set ( new or used ) anywhere They were amazing budget chips and I would love to have a set again
Wow, I just literally posted that exact same scenario. I bought about 700 chips from All-In Chips brand but it looks like they went out of business. I did a search and apparently there has been a few forum threads discussing these chips, how they went out of business and they are occasionally finding them for sale on Facebook marketplace or ebay. I hope I can find some reasonably priced but I can't believe how much people charge for chips sometimes. I found a current ebay post for $4/chip for 10 chips...I'll pass.
Any thoughts on the Poker Knights chips? Debating between the Poker Knights, Monte Carlo, and Casino Royale. Looking to pick up 1500 for my home craps table.
BR Pro Poker (tiki, outlaw) sells sample sets for less than $20, I have a few for this very purpose. Casino $1s are good too but you may want to clean them first.
Yes to @harveywright2502 and @damiencb13. I used to use casino chips but concerns about kids/lead has me using exclusively ceramics - Dia de Los Muertos sample set at the moment.
I bought a bunch of Monte Carlo’s from Apache a few years ago. They’re great, edges smooth. Only thing is I want to get more but my 25$ chips are dark green smooth. I can’t find them anywhere! All the dark green chips aren’t the premium Monte Carlos. I can’t make sense of it. Also, Apache is out of a lot of denominations, what’s another good sight that sells high quality Monte Carlos?
just bought a set of dunes , watching one of your older videos earlier. Mostly happy with them but an inconsistency in texture is one thing I experienced like some of them feel almost a little chalky and give it good texture an grip. While like my 1$ blues feel almost like plastic and they are very slick , im sure some more use and finger oils/dirt will give them some more grime. But its just odd that some of them feel like a completely different chip, until I watched your (5 things I hate) video I thought I had been scammed an they made some of them out of a cheaper material.
I have over 6000 Monte Carlo chips. Use them in home games, and used to use them in charity games I would run. I've had them since 2012 and have never had any issues with them. Last year, I got a set of 2000 chips of the Casino Royale for my son for graduation. They are incredible chips.
I'm very confused. The Monte Carlo chip you have in tier two are listed as "clay composite" on the chip sites I've visited. They also look like clay chips. But you generally referred to them as ABS chips... Do they come in different material options? Are the sites lying? again, they look like clay chips.
I had a set of those TAJ ceramics. They came out really nice. The PCF DB is made by Matsui. It's the same material that their high-end plaques are made of.
I have been looking for the Jumbo Size chips that are bigger than the average-size chips like the $1k/$5k/$10k+ chips that casinos use... Do you have any or know where we can get some?
Hi, would it be possible to do a video on the majestic vs empire please, interested to find out what’s better to invest in thanks. Mark from Liverpool England
Hey Hobby, What do you think of Poker Chip Lounge custom poker chips? Have you worked with them before? I am interested in purchasing a custom set with them.
What do you think of the current Paulsons on Apache poker chips right now particularly the “1000 Majestic Star Casino Paulson Poker Chips”. Are those a good value you think?
I have three sets. Casino Royale, Crown Wheatear's, and Poker Tournament (you reviewed them 2 yrs ago). The Casino Royale chips are too heavy and do have that smell although they look cool. I rotate using the Wheatear's and Poker Tournament chips. They both do not have metal slugs and feel great. I still like the Poker Tournament the best. I am looking at buying another set and thinking about ceramics.
PCF and classic poker chips for sure! Your set might cost $400 but it’s WORTH $400! They are an investment essentially. I bought some horseshoe $5 chips off the forum, 100 for $150, I think, and couldn’t complete the set so a few months later I posted them for the same price and they sold literally in 20 minutes. The $25 jacks Cincinnati chips I have I bought from a guy in Paris, France. These are valuable all over the world.
I have a very unique $100 poker chip I received in Iraq back in 2009 from a gigantic Sgt.maj. from the army. It is commemorative electric strawberry chip that he said can be redeemed at any casino in Vegas for $100 in their chips. I am sure it has some kind of rarity to it, but zero sentimental value to me. Is this thing worth anything and if so who would want it?
I have ordered from Chip Cave years ago. It was fine. I never tried their return policy so I can NOT make a fair comparison versus Amazon. Best of luck, thanks for watching!
So a question for you guys, i‘m tinking about getting a nice poker set and everything that goes with it. Does is make a difference whether i play on a poker mat or not? I know it does at like casinos from what i‘ve seen but these thin mats you can buy online are what i‘m nor sure about. I‘m of course not trying to buy an actual poker table, our (normal) table is plenty but apart from a visual experience do they provide anything else? Because if i‘m going to invest in good chips might as well get a good mat yk? Also they are close to 100$ on the website i‘m currently looking so no so cheap yk?
Hey there, I've been curious about the difference between 39mm (regular?? sized) and the 42mm option seen as an option for some chips. Whats traditional? Which one is a fad and or what games is each respective sized used for? Also have you considered reviewing any of the Slowplay Ceramic chips? If I remember you did a video on their clay chips.
Most chips (and racks) are 39mm. 42mm are noticeably larger but can be a nice novelty, if your case/rack fits them. Both are equally good for poker/craps/etc
Casino Royale poker chips are the best. They have a smooth, round edge, a great feel, a satisfying sound, and a perfect weight. The elegant, minimal decor makes them very durable. The smell is also great. I polished them with olive oil and cleaned them with baby wipes, making them godly chips!
I have a group that's starting to get serious, seems like there is a ton of information out there. We currently use the dice chips, I was looking at the majestics or taj mahals based off the information I've seen. Was wondering what you would purchase for yourself if you could only have one?
Hello, what would be the most recommended chips for board games about economics (called 18xx)? Roxley's Iron Clay? Apache Bank chips? Slowplay chips? I think the most durable are the aluminum Pirate metal poker chips, on the other hand I think they are very noisy. In Spain (Europe) the price and distribution is not as economical as in the USA, for that reason I find your channel very interesting, since it is not easy to decide on a good set. Thank you so much!
Apache Bank chips are the most common chips recommended for 18xx. The Iron Clays are ok, but they are slippery and the colors aren't the best. The most important thing to keep in mind when buying chips for 18xx is you need a 20 denomination, not 25.
I prefer China clays to ceramics as a medium-budget chip because they have a nicer sound and feel. The only reasons I would ever go for ceramics over China clays is if my chips were going to get an absolute beating or if I wanted a customised set.
Hello mate, I have a question: I have the chance to buy a set of 1250 chips from the pharaoh china clay collection. I can get them for 600 €. Are they worth? Thanks in advance.

On the Strip in Las Vegas, it is the Paulson brand (now part of Angel Group?) Formerly GPI/Paulson chips. They do not offer these to consumers, only licenced casinos.
I have a 1000 chipset of the Monte Carlos, don't like them. I bought a sample set of the Tiki Kings last year (and the dealer button) and I think soon I'm gonna buy a few hundred of them.
@@henzo2049 Like he said in the video, stacks don't lay flat, that have sharp flashing around the edge, they're heavy. They weigh like 14 grams, and they don't sound right.

The CPC chips are fantastic. My first set from them was the Rounders CSQ chips, and I’m now awaiting my second (custom) set. @Hobbyphilic is right - these will last a lifetime. These get my highest recommendation. Thanks
has anybody gotten their hands on the valentino casino ceramics on thepokerstore? i don't really have much experience with poker chips so I cant really tell how high of quality they are.
I swear I've been subscribed for 10 years now and I still come back to your videos when you post new ones.
Same. I still have my set of Venerati ceramics I bought from seeing one of his videos back in 2016.

I just love those Tiki Kings, its such a shame there isn’t a UK or European distributor 😢
Got some Outlaws based on some of your previous videos and I like them alot. Thank you! My dice poker chips weren't doing it for me anymore.
Woooo!! Was looking forward for this video to inevitably come out (:
As usual, (and like every year) a great review Jon! You bring joy to collecting chips💪🏻

Great review. Love the tier structure. Jane Doe so lucky.
I've been thinking about getting a stack of 20 or so chips just to shuffle as a desk toy, any recommendations?
I always keep one $1 chips from every casino I play at and use those to shuffle with

My understanding is that the sites are lying, unfortunately. “Clay composite” means they add a little bit of clay to the plastic.
Can you compare HEITOK POKER CHIPS? Best seller on Amazon

Empire vs Majestic Poker chips from Apache Poker Chips. Which do you prefer and why?
They look essentially like the same chip with just different designs and size. I prefer the Majestic design.
