I can confirm this with my iPad mini 6, it also has 20W power supply in the box, but it can use also stronger ones. When I tried all my powerful USB-C adapters (Apple 87/96W, Lenovo 65W, ASUS 30W, Samsung 45W and Xiaomi single USB-C 65W) I was able to get up to 27W power draw. Net charging speed of battery is capped at around ~ 18W so extra power is used to provide power for iPad's own consumption
So what W adapter should I buy for the iPad Air 5.
Thank you :)
@@jouma5295 I would go with 30W, anything above this is waste of money unless you are planning to share this power supply with for instance notebook or other power "glutton". More watts do not hurt the iPad, so it does not matter, which power supply capable of > 30W I use. The only problem is price and size ;)
@@DB-47 thanks for the info!!
Any recommendations on a brand ?
@@jouma5295 I know I have suggested than anything above 30W in this use case as money waste, but I have quite good experience with Samsung 45W power supply. They are about the same size as Apple 30W, but it also supports PPS, so if you have iPad + Android phone, you can charge both devices quickly. It costed me about 600 CZK worth about ~ 26 USD. It can be used even as power supply for Macbooks that were shipped with 30W power supply.
Anker provides even better power density, but are more expensive
My old white charge not charging so I try some oh them but some of them don’t work :(
Yeah right. .. the same of what i observation too.. thanks and God bless ❤❤❤
can use with ipad 9th gen?
What is the maximum charging speed of iPhone 13 thanks
This won’t damage the battery tho?
iPad Air 5 only properly charges with a USB-C charger! It does NOT support Apple 2.1A (10W) or Apple 2.4A (12W) charging profiles anymore, which are available on their USB-A chargers. It will still charge, but painfully slow (at only 7.5W). I'm not sure if all Apple's USB-C iPads stopped supporting their old charging standards or just this new iPad Air 5. Lightning iPads and iPhones still seem to support it and can charge at 12W from USB-A chargers.
Even if it seems legit, I wouldn't risk my iPad's battery like that. I'm just grateful it came with more than just the cable for once.
Will it work on iPad Air 4?
Yes!
Is the iPad Air charger charges fast?
Yes it does, it s a 20w charger
Hello , I am a former Apple employee and it is not recommended to use the 30W . It’s not good for the battery 🔋 😊
