    Thanks for your fantastic videos. Great review of this fantastic hardware from you. One thing I could recommend is to PLEASE make the audio sound much better. I have no idea what you used to record your narration, but it sounds really, really bad, I am sure you caan make it much better with sound narration sound quality! Especially, when reviewing such a great camera, it can give a false impression about how Fujifilm can capture audio! For example, if that sound comes from the Fujifilm camera, I will never buy it! Don't take this personally because I just want to help you if you read with an open-minded attitude, that's all! Many greetings from Germany, and thank you very much. Alfredo.

      Sounds perfectly good to me. The audio is recorded through a SMB7 and a RODE Preamp which is industry standard microphone so should be OK for you too.

    Hi Kevin, another example of your excellent event photography! I can say that I admire the quality, the design and the expression of your photos, especially Your wedding and family photography, for a long time! Can I ask you a question based on this current photo series. How do you set the focus in such lively scenes? I have often photographed in such situations with my X 100 F for example just yesterday at my brother's birthday party: low light, everything with aperture 2.0 and it is often difficult to get faces in focus due to the shallow depth of field, especially in situations with movement. In addition, the autofocus of the X 100F is not the fastest in low light. What is Your technique of focusing in such situations? Do you even use the eyes or face or eye detection? All the best. Peter

    • @kevin_mullins
      @kevin_mullins  6 месяцев назад

      Hi Peter. If the subjects are moving quickly I'll use continuous focus - but not face detect. Small focus box. That should work just as well with the X100F too.

    • @Pedrotube0565

You use the X100 for bride prep and dancing after the ceremony. I would like to hear more about your experience using the VI during a wedding day shoot. I suspect this was already planned by you.

    I had the chance to be called by my favourite local store so that i could upgrade from the X100V to the VI. I love both cameras and both perform well. But I appreciate now that the X100VI is on par with the XT5 concerning the sensor, color rendering and AF speed, even if the lens is slowing it down. Very nice pictures Kevin and nice Tri-X processing. Love it.

      I very rarely use the flash. It's a good fill flash but you need to be pretty close. You won't get the same result using built in jpegs but take a look at my video about Black and White Jpegs and you can see what I do in camera.

    Supply is becoming my bugbear with fujifilm. I use the xh2 for my work, but like all photographers, I would like a smaller pocket camera for my days off. x100s, Xe's...all missing from the marketplace. Different batteries per unit, lens out of stock, additional grips for sale when they used to be a feature on older models. They are having supply/demand issues and focusing more on adding more megapixels and ibis to units where the lack of these features previously didn't affect sales.

    • @kevin_mullins
      @kevin_mullins  6 месяцев назад

      To be fair, I think the whole of the electronics industry is having supply issues. Especially PCBs etc. I know that Fujifilm are doing absolutely everything they can to build cameras as quick as possible.

    • @lefthandright01
      @lefthandright01 6 месяцев назад

      The parts shortage is more of an issue for manufacturers that use different motherboards etc. Fujifilm uses the same logic boards etc. Its just the exterior tooling that changes. This typically should give them an advantage in supply. Currently finding anything outside an XT, Xh is near impossible. I trust 2024 will be a better year for supply for them, especially when you see discontinued models selling for greater than when they were brand new. It's hard to adopt a system you can't find.

      Thanks Jody. Mostly, when the light is reasonable like this I shoot in Aperture Priority. Always using Spot Metering though which helps with the light/shadow contrast.
      Additionally, I ALWAYS have my LCD and Viewfinder set to a black and white simulation. Even though I shoot RAW and will edit later. "Seeing" in Black and White really helps when looking for contrast.
      Thanks for your support - I appreciate it.

    Hi Kevin. Quick question...looking at your exif data, do you manually change your ss based on scene/movement or just set it to auto? I know that you've said that you use auto Iso (as do I), but I'm noticing that with the upgraded sensor in the vi, it is less forgiving that the v was in auto Iso (specifically in relation to ss). With the v, I left my ss minimum at 1/125, but I'm finding that I need to increase this minimum value with the vi. Thanks & longtime follower.

    • @lighthunter1980
      @lighthunter1980 6 месяцев назад +1

      With IBIS, you can safely shoot at 1/60 if your subject is static. Otherwise, I would agree to set 1/125 or even higher if the light allows. However, I always prefer to keep ISO under 3200 before I go faster than 1/125.

    • @kevin_mullins
      @kevin_mullins  6 месяцев назад +1

      I haven't really noticed any difference in that respect. I suspect what you are seeing is the interplay of IBIS. I shot all of these shots in Aperture Priority mode and still set my min SS to 1/125.

      @joelb727 6 месяцев назад

      @@kevin_mullinsThank you for the response. I've been getting in my own head. Been practicing solely with the camera since getting it. Shooting my normal everyday stuff...Kids, wife, dogs, home life, dinners...but even when shooting still-life (like a jar), I'm getting some blur. Also with shots that I typically had minimum ss set to 1/125 (auto Iso), shots at dinner of someone will be slightly out of focus. I've had the camera's ibis setting on 'shooting only.' I will change this to continuous and keep testing. With all my other fujis (x-e4s, x100v & Xh1), I've never had this issue.
