Had no trouble with NBN personally, but many still report that when converting they from install to this date continue to still experience drop-outs...
Our isp (Mate) mistakenly cut off our internet for 2 weeks, and refused to put it back on because we were in the process (via them) of upgrading from fttn to fttc, then nbnco did not even bother to turn up to the final/inside appointment, and didn't bother to even tell us they were not coming. Our isp then told us to try again next year o.O After all of that I found out that by right we should have been upgraded to fttp anyway. When I took a look inside of the box on the outside wall, it looks like we have actually been upgraded to fttp (blue fibre optic cable inside), but the nbnco site says we are on fttc. In reality we are now just back on fttn and waiting for it all to get stuffed up again next year, aside from all of that... it has been swell.
But how much jitter and stability do you have, many gamers consider wireless inferior because of these types of factors, that and milliseconds packed in "your ping" speeds, BECAUSE frames matter, and so does your k/d levels. But you are right, very impressive wireless speeds nonetheless.
I've always wondered why Australia has bad internet. I have DSL and enough speed to watch a YT video or so. haha. (Hoping that something else comes along in my area.) Anyways, I hope things are starting to improve for you guys, as far as the internet goes.
Hi mate, did NBN run the fibre directly into your room through the roofspace? If so, I had 2 questions 1. Is the fibre inside a conduit the entire way? 2. Did it cost you anything to have it run to the room rather than a back to back install where the outdoor unit exists? I'm eligible for a free FTTP upgrade but I want to try and get it run across the other side of the house into the garage, however my house is 2 storeys so im not sure how much effort they will go to for me.
No conduit available from existing telephone line when installing the fibre at my house. They had to dig approximately 6 meters but to my surprise they layed cable without conduit in trench. When I asked about this they said it would be my expense if I wanted conduit.
your not going to know yourself! i have FTTP in my place in Western Australia and i have had 1000/50 for years now through Aussie Broad Band, they're great and the service is really stable, I regularly see 850-900mbps and it usually takes longer to install updates than download them :)
Thanks for the comment 👍 many, many, people still yet too experience reliable FTTC let alone FTTP finer connections on the Eastern seaboard.... My luck was last in Australia 🇦🇺 to receive FTTC, but first at least in our street it seems to get the FTTP connection straight through into my now blinking RGB room. On a side note, who needs a Christmas 🎄 😀 tree now. Have a great day K.I.S.S. 👋
@jglg7238 agreed, the fibre gear could easily hit 10gbps both ways, tis a pity we get throttled but ive found most servers cap their uploads at 100mbps anyway, I dont use my uploads very much maybe 300-400gb a month so im not too stressed about upload speed, low lat is what i was after, and pings are solid 2-3ms, good enough for my application
One day... We've been asking for optical fibre for years. A lot of people have optical fibre... despite not requesting it and only using slow internet speeds... but people who do want it can't get it. 😞 BTW 1000/50 cable is very good... but optical fibre is better
3:48 actually we still in the stone age with rip of prices in australia when it comes to internet or everything, they still have not uncap the upload speeds and it's been decades.
Yes, I agree, uploads speeds to myself are most important also. Shame Shame Shame, ....paying for 50 uploads, and sometimes getting under 25 is a rort. When I have had 20 upload on the previous plan that held the 20 up. I only got 1000/50 for the upload, 250/100 is a rip as other option. Least I could get is like 46 up to justify 50 selling tag. I think in Australia an ombudsman should look into this shit.
Was awesome almost about 930 - 940 down Jeoffer, although the upload in recent has not been near 50 as it should be and hence advertised... I would drop 500 down for reliable 50 or above in a heart beat... Thanks for commenting!
FTTN 50:20 is our max and trying to go FTTP 100:40 ~800M of fibre that has to be pulled through I would rather a 50:50 but oh well I aint spending the money for a 1000:50 cause I do not need the down speed ...
still sucks when australia caps the upload speed to only 5MB due to garbage "bullshit enterprise plan" my asz, even with 1000/50, upload speed is a joke still a rip off and slow
Do you guys think NBN Co and its rollout has been a shit storm? Any juicy stories people? Please share.
Had no trouble with NBN personally, but many still report that when converting they from install to this date continue to still experience drop-outs...
Shit Storm, but forgiven if they get it done.
its ok
We stand for a government that does not waste our money via a lack or proper education and or just shilling out!

Damn straight, you got the drop, madness.
FIBER YES !!!!
The price is crazy for NBN I'm using Optus 5g I get 300mbs down and 20mbs up for $99 will free next flix and free 5g modem.

@@CranksPants true I think latency is about 16-30ms so competitive online gaming might not be ideal. I mostly play RPG and simulation style stuff

Thanks Woolfy for both your comment and eyes on my humble video mate. Peace ✌️ ☮️
I ordered my nbn fttp 7 months ago. Still a headache to get around. No responses, nothing, Nola, nada.

For once, something positive!
So have you ordered the 1000/400 plan and using that? Curious if you did to improve that upload.
I'm tipping the nbn tech spliced the cable coming from the pit and the one from your room ?

once they uncap the upload upload speed to 1000 than dingo land might have decent internet

They won't give us optical fibre because we already have cable (1000/50 Optus).
:-(
They should be replacing your cable. They replaced ours...one day...

I am getting mine done next week and the outside part has been done already by 2 lovely men
Are there any job vacancies, I have experience in this field. thank you🙏

How's the speed? I'm getting FTTP this Friday.

I will be out of stone age next month, screw FTTN away

Basically the Liberals destroyed the original NBN planned which was Labour's idea.
PREMISES NOT premises. Premise is something that comes before. Also, we’re not Americans so quit the “Y’All”.
