The Championship White color used for the Honda Civic Type R is inspired by the Honda RA272 Formula One car that won the 1965 Mexican Grand Prix. The RA272 was the first Japanese car to win an F1 race, and it did so with driver Richie Ginther behind the wheel. The Championship White color is now closely associated with our Honda’s Type R performance models, and is often used as a tribute to Honda’s racing heritage.
