    Love these guys. They look like they teleported from different eras to play rock music together. Husker Du: a donut salesman, a homeless cowboy dad, and a glamorous pirate.

      It was in front of the Hennepin County Government Bldg in Downtown Mpls. Everyone I hung out with was just TORCHED from the night before- we hadn't gone to sleep and just partied until the show- afterwards we ended up in the Uptown Bar with Bloody Marys and more coke. What a night/morning! Back when Minneapolis was fun!

    Thanks for posting this. Without Husker Du, Nirvana and the Pixies would be nothing.

      Without Big Black there would be no Nirvana, without the Huskers, no Nirvana. It's the diff between Cobain and Grohl. And without The Ramones there wouldn't be ANY of them.

    I'm seeing Bob Mould tonight as part of a comedy variety show in San Francisco, don't really know what to expect but psyched. He also DJs post-punk, shoegaze and psychedelic music sometimes at a bear bar called Lone Star here in the city. You go Bob.

    I skipped out on class too! The way I remember it they asked the band to shorten a song or two and stop playing... The old lady in the audience was out dancing when the Husker's put on an impromptu concert after the show was done taping. It was really early in the morning, but I remember a good size crowd, dough nuts and special export.

    I remember taping this off of NBC, I think there was also a break where they did their version of the Mary Tyler Moore theme, which had been a b-side on SST. (And that last song is Everytime, a b-side written by Greg Norton, a relative rarity in the HD catalogue.)

      @thumbprintn2413 Год назад +1

      Thank you for the reminder. I was there I climbed a tree and watch the show from up there. It wasn't really a show they did two or three songs and I remember the Mary Tyler Moore theme and a lot of waiting around between songs. the only time ever got to see the band

    Ok this might be a reply to a year old post but fuck it. Bro everyone loves trolling but classic music come on. LOL ur 2 cool bro. Husker Du influenced The Pixies,Nirvana, and a lot of indy/alternative/punk groups. In fact the whole 90's era wouldn't have happened . Oh and lets not forget Dinorsaur fucking Jr and Sebadoh. As for your poppy mainstream punk that you speak of actually took (or should i say tried) to take there whole style from Jawbreaker but made it into complete shit. :P

      when somebody asked Nirvana about their sound, I believe it was Krist that said "he haven't done anything that Husker Du hasn't already done."

      P i a n o R e e v e s Pretty much. Looking at 90s rock music, it was heavily influenced by the two punk rock bands from the Twin Cities (one being Hüsker Dü, the other the Replacements).
