Been following this dude for a while on social media because I like his small government political views, had no clue he was the lead singer for fire from the gods before the guy they have now.
I guess so,Phil Bozeman gives you those feelings,he can actually do three of them without breaking any sweats,or hurting his throat, plus Deathcore is harder whenever comes to those three
*ERIC JULY IS NOW THE VOCALIST OF BACKWORDZ*, AND IS NO LONGER IN FIRE FROM THE GODS; If you liked this song, the 'message', or the vocalist, please check out his new stuff! They really need the support, especially since FFTG got signed to Rise Records and BackWordz is still stuck self-reliant and indie. Their message is also really important, and is probably one of the best activist bands out there right now.
Bruh... Backwordz is doing better than ever. They own the band and make their own stuff rather than having a company telling them what to do. They were on tour in a couple of states not too long ago.
Only reason why I like this better than Backwordz is because Eric's doing the clean vocal choruses, not the Backwordz bassist who gives the song...too different of a feel than what Eric sets.
fuckin still wish Eric did more clean vocals on the Backwords album, do some harmony with the bassist. That dude's voice grew on me now, but still love to hear more Eric!
Everyone's on here going "this is anti-capitalist." This is as pro-capitalist as you can get. One of the lines is "how can I be myself without the freedom to fail?" That's what capitalism promotes. The freedom to try and fail until you get it right. The problem is that people only do half of that. They try and fail and then get mad and blame the system. Don't blame the system for your own shortcomings. That's all on you. The good news is that you can overcome those shortcomings and make it work for you. You can, in the words of Eric July, "be great." Capitalism promotes the idea that everyone has the freedom to try. They may not make it the first time, but that doesn't mean they can't stop trying. Socialism, communism, and fascism all promote a very drone-like ideal where everyone thinks the same way, akin to The Borg from Star Trek: First Contact. Capitalism is said to be built on greed, but it's actually not. Greed is prevalent in some people, which is sad. However, to paraphrase one of Backwordz's songs, you cannot stop greed by taking away other people's liberty. I will always be a capitalist. No amount of catchy hashtags from Bernie Sanders or Marxist literature will ever make me think otherwise.
Agreed, Backwordz is great. Don't get me wrong, I benefit from the good parts of Capitalism, but many have to suffer and live under the shitty parts of it. I'm no commie or Nazi or anything, I'm also pretty much a capitalist, but I believe there must be a better way, there has to be.
Andres Yáñez True. The problem isn't free market capitalism though. The problem is government intervention. America isn't completely a free market like it should be. We do have something called "crony capitalism" to an extent. That's when government makes too many laws and regulations around the economy, and it favors certain businesses. It makes things unfair. They make it a little harder for the little guy and it establishes monopolies. That's not to say that you can't climb up the corporate latter, or start your own business. If your ideas are good enough, you can easily be a rich entrepreneur. It honestly doesn't matter what system that you have put in place. It is never going to be perfect, because what is to is to stop government from intervening in how we conduct business?? We should solve that problem first, before we consider implementing a new system. There is big chance that there is nothing wrong with the current system. Not that it can't be improved upon. Capitalism is predicated on the idea of private ownership. People hear the word private and automatically imagine some guy hoarding money like scrooge mcduck. lmao It couldn't be further from the truth. Private just means that all citizens are entitled to having their own property, or starting their own business. You keep what you earn. Government isn't allowed to intervene, or to just take all your earnings. Atleast that is the ideal of it. Like I said. It doesn't always work out that way, because government sticks their nose in everything. The problem isn't capitalism it self. The problem is government. We really need to limit their power. Socialism on the other hand is complete government control. Everything is publicly owned, which is just another word for government owned. You are supposed to share everything as a community and other people are entitled to the things that you worked hard to earn. So equal pay. We are supposed to share everything. That sounds good in theory. The problem is that nobody is ever able to come to an agreement on what is fair. Nobody wants to share their stuff. Why should they. They worked hard, and you are supposed to give your money to somebody that most likely didn't work a hard day in their life. Because nobody can come to an agreement, socialism always requires an arbiter of sorts. You know somebody who settles disputes, and spreads the wealth equally. Guess who always takes up that role?? That's right. Your friendly government. This system would work, if you didn't have to trust in government to do what they are supposed to do. A pretty idea. The problem with Socialism though is that it never accounts for human nature, which is greed. Government is in charge of redistributing all wealth, foods, goods, and services. That's why it always fails. Government hoards everything, and you end up with scraps. Things may be equal now, but everyone ends up equally poor. There is also the so called "equal pay" thing, which is complete bullshit. You literally can't get promoted, without government approval. So you pretty much stay at the bottom. Not that it matters, because every job now pays the same. You could be rocket scientist and you'd still get paid the same wages of a McDonald's employee. They don't call it big government for no reason. Lmao Sorry for the rant. Not assuming that you are a socialist. I've just had people say the samething to me. Figured that I'd clear the air. To sum everything up. I'd rather battle it out with the huge corporations. At least you have a fighting chance, As opposed to relinquishing all power to the government, and losing all individual rights to anything. Socialist societies always start out fine, but gradually escalate into a dictatorship. Money is power and control. Guess where all our money is tied up in?? Property and business. I am open minded to a new system, or just improving upon the old one. Socialism/Communism/Collectivism is not the answer though. It just makes shit worse.

FFTG was so much better with Eric, and that's coming from someone with their whole new album downloaded, but The Capitalist is my all time favorite song by FFTG
Narrative is such a mediocre album. Excuse Me and End Transmission are the only two songs that really stand out. Eric definitely took the flavor of this band with him when he left. Hopefully Backwordz's album will give us some of this again.
Pierre Valentine My favorites off that album are Pretenders-Single Edition and In Spite of Doubt (maybe Into The Blue too) but Eric definitely does a much better job at the lyrics delivery
Eh, to be honest. This song in some part is good but the song as a whole isn't groundbreaking and comes off pretty generic. I believe Eric's new band backwardz is better than this and the current fftg is better than this. Both backwardz and the current fftg have more flair than this and smoke screen.

Backwordz should've remastered this song on Veracity
Evan Lamping if it's the same singer what would it change lmfao
Aesthetics08 I was about to say the production value of this song isn’t bad or old so theirs really no point to a remaster lol
Eric July is an absolute treasure!

More like no government political views.
Seconded. Eric July is Ancap, not an effing statetheist Lino.
Hes an anarchist. please go read "Anatomy Of The State" by Murray Rothbard :) its very short, 1 hour read.
Capitalism and Anarchy are antithetical to one another. Read ANY other anarchist outside of Rothbard.
The singer makes me want to not even try. Sings, screams and raps and sometimes at the sametime!
Also kinda has a reggae sound in some parts of "Excuse Me".
That's after Eric left
ye thats 2 different people :D but aj definitely added the reggea aswell :P

do you remember a time when the breakdown was at the end of songs not just the whole song like modern nu metal bands, man have times changed...

xD wtf
Tbh this might be one of the most talented vocalists ive ever heard

Ryan Wetherill right? Would love to have this on Apple Music as well
Too not leftist probably. Their newer vocalist is the complete political opposite
It’s called discrimination towards Eric July. Plain and simple.

Wait, what's the story here. Is this the same singer as the one in Backwordz?
Adam Smith yeah and another guy stepped in in his place. Which is alright, who needs two bands anyway?
@Adam Smith the lead in backwordz now is the original mc from this band. when he left they copy and pasted a random black guy which is this guy here..
