I’ve been in the church my entire life, battled with a pornography addiction from the time I was 5 y/o and I have NEVER heard faith being a weapon to use against temptation. I set every boundary, did every prayer, and I still found myself falling back into cycles but God is showing me now that it’s by faith and it’s only ever been by faith in him. He has set me free. Thank you Jesus.
There’s a 40 day porn challenge (to free you from it) on the Bible app!! It helped me so much! I would take a look at it. I’m currently 5 months free of porn! The Lord has delivered me and I KNOW He will deliver you as well! Keep fighting! Keep praying and keep His living word in your heart/spirit! It gets easier!

This episode was a little hard for me to grasp and understand. It was a bit advanced for me so I had to constantly pause and play it the next day and take it in doses, I’m still not finished yet, and will definitely have to revisit it in the future. It was a bit overwhelming because I wanted to understand but struggled.
I recently gave my life to Christ 4 months ago at 27. Like Preston mentioned in the beginning of the episode in his testimony almost everything fell away with ease. I released weed, alcohol, masturbation, secular music (this was necessary because I feel music and meditate on the lyrics) etc… but the one temptation that plagues me on a daily basis is homosexuality. As someone who has lived that life for over 10 years there’s so many elements to it that you’re not even consciously aware of. I stopped pursuing women and started focusing solely on God. But then my mind starts to think of past romantic memories, previous partners pop back up, everywhere you turn there’s an image of homosexuality and it brings forth lustful thoughts and emotions, it’s like you can’t escape it, it’s even in children’s movies.
I got a little lost when the discussion between those who use faith to guide them and those who set boundaries for themselves.
The only reason why I don’t partake in homosexuality anymore is out of fear of losing the relationship and possessions that I have with God because I gave my life to him. The minute I turned to God I felt loved and whole, I no longer felt alone which was something I was searching for in women and the world that I could never find. I am so afraid that the minute I go back down that path that I will separate myself for God and be back in darkness. Living without God in my life felt like everything was dark and I always felt dark and now living for him there is light all around me in every waking moment I feel light. If I experience something rough I try to immediately pray/talk to him and feel an instant relief. So I don’t know if I am walking by faith or just setting a boundary that’s keeping me from going back to dating a woman.
I really appreciate the episode and can see the many layers and constantly revisiting this episode will reveal something different to me each time. That the beauty of God’s Word.

I’m praying for you Lori! My story is a bit different but I relate to so many things you said, especially because I had to get rid of secular music and from time to time I have homosexual thoughts. Many things might not make sense right now but you have a beautiful testimony and the LORD will use you. James 1 has been encouraging me recently since I’ve been struggling myself too. 💕
You might have typed this to Express your lack of understanding but you ended up encouraging me. You reminded me that the reason to fight what feels so good in the flesh is so as to protect what feels even better, which is our connection to God! May God keep you in your struggle! For ten years, I suffered from chronic Lyme disease, arthritis, gallbladder issues and constant chronic pain. The doctors said I would not recover. I was in agony daily, and I watched others die around me with late stage diseases.
Prayer healed me when medicine failed me. God fully healed my disease. When Jesus found me I got baptised and started following the bible. God gave me a new family. My life is full of meaning. My heart is full of gratitude. I want to love others and share his work. You are unique to God and you are special to Him.
Today I am free from disease! I got married and I gave birth to a healthy baby.

Hey Axel! As someone who struggled with this earlier on my christian walk, I can testify to you my brother, that the God of the Universe is empowering us daily through His Spirit. I don't know about you, but when I was suffering thinking that these desires were coming from me I had to pay attention to the emotions that I was experiencing. The enemy whispers to us in the first person, wanting us to believe that those thoughts are coming from us. One method I use to discern this is by noticing if I felt in my mind or in my heart. If I only felt in my mind, crossing my thoughts I know it's demonic so I rebuke it. But more than a advise from a brother, I want this to be an encouragement to you on your walk 💖 Ask the Lord "Why did I turn on to this in my life? I know it's a sin, but why did I choose it when I was in the world, Lord? What was I seeking inside of it, that was giving me purpose or fulfillment? Lord, I turn my eyes upon You. Sanctify me in Your truth and thank you for saving me daily." God bless you!!! 💖
For years I have struggled with sexual sin. I thought getting married would cover my sin, but I am 30 still not married but now I am faced with dealing with healing from the trauma I might have endured as a child. I have been sexual since I was 4 and I could remember being involved in incest. God really been there with me the entire time! But I might have been molested and un aware. I have been fighting all my life to be free and now I feel like God is using me as a testimony for other women that suffer from sexual sin. Jesus is my savior!

Fast and pray. No breakfast, just a cup or 2 of water every hour or more. Jesus fasted. David fasted. Daniel fasted. Many others fasted. Also prayed! Jesus prayed for an hour or hours.
I’ve struggled with lust almost all my life. God spoke to me about a month ago as I was under attack from the enemy ‘when you desire what is good more than anything, then you will overcome.’ The next day the Lord revealed to me that I was trying to overcome my porn addiction, believing that when I overcame it, then God would bless me with a spouse. Basically, I was desiring to be free for a blessing more than a desire to be close to God with no hinderances. I made the created a idol before the creator,(Romans 1) and I doubted that God was good and could satisfy my longing to fill the void of loneliness and the feeling of being whole. When I think about the consequences of my sin and how it causes me to feel guilt, shame and condemnation and a separation from a good loving and sincere God, it’s a whole less appealing and highlights the goodness of nature. I hope sharing this helps you because it has been a HUGE breakthrough for me in understanding this.
I’ve done the whole accountability partner, no secular music, movies and all that but God desires our hearts more than a behavioral modification. This new way of thinking has me setting my heart of his goodness more than a list of do’s and don’ts to follow so I won’t wander into sin. Setting my affection on things above and not on things of this earth 😊
This was real good. God really spoke to me through y’all. I have struggled with legalism a lot within the past year, trying to be as holy as possible, and it’s been exhausting to say the least. But y’all are reminding me that it’s faith that’s been the answer all along.

NOT on how much Faith we had!
SUBMISSION to God’s Word and ALLOWING His Holy Spirit to REIGN in our lives, is HOW VICTORY is attained!
NOT by/in your OWN strength, wittiness or smarts! And certainly NOT, avoiding/shunning/ignoring the Royal Law of God. - James 2:8-12.
We have ALL REBELLED against our Creator, from Adam and Eve ‘til NOW! Hence, the DEGENERATE world we have!
More REBELLION against God’s Law CANNOT bring about Healing! But SUBMISSION to His Word, WILL! - James 4:7-10.
True Repentance is: 1. being SORRY for REBELLING/BREAKING God’s Law or SINNING against Him, and 2: Accepting the Plan He has prescribed/offered for our Redemption, in His Son’s death,
for our sins!
3: Rising from water baptism, to WALK/LIVE in the NEWNESS - some things we used to DO, SAY, SING, “friends” we used to keep etc, etc, we DO, SAY, SING or keep NO MORE - of Christ’s Life THROUGH the Holy Spirit! - 2 Cor. 5:17.

At first I was like “when was this word when i needed it?” but then I understood that I had to go through those things by myself to fully understand and grasp the subject of spiritual warfare so that then I can spread the message to the world with confidence
I’ve always believed that Christ died on the Cross. But I’ve also ALWAYS had a hard time believing that he died on that cross for ME. Even as a child… I felt unworthy of that kind of sacrifice. But now that I’ve begun to believe what he’s doing/ on my behalf it is THAT VERY belief that keeps me clinging to him even if I drift away sometimes. This was soooo good!

This is where we come to the realization that God actually didn’t give us the spirit of fear (which is faith in the devil and what he says), but God has given us the spirit of love, which is embedded in our hearts; power which is the word of God and a sound mind which we protect with the helmet of salvation. May we be fully girded with the armor of God.

I've had to accept and confess lately that I do not trust God. Not that I don't believe He is real or that He is good or that He is faithful. But somehow guarding myself from being hurt by people (because they have made promises to me they never kept), I inadvertently have put up walls even against God. Where, I've had encounters with Him, I see Him moving in and through my life, I have heard God speak, I KNOW HE IS REAL. However, I don't fully trust Him. I don't trust that He will do what He's told me He's gonna do and it's a me thing. I believe I've definitely been experiencing spiritual warfware and the enemy has been using my past to question God's character and integrity in my heart and mind. I'm sharing this so that I release it, so that it doesn't fester within me, and then also so that if anyone sees is and is lead by Holy Spirit to; that they'll submit me into prayer. I don't know how to fix it. I've partnered with God in many other areas of my life but this feels big. I dunno, this makes me feel helpless and small because I don't know what to do. And I feel bad that I don't trust the same God who healed my depression. How can I have faith in but not trust God in the same breath? Barely makes sense even to me. Pray for me. Please.
I understand!!! God has done so much for me and I feel guilty that in moments I do not trust God and I admit that! God has healed before, I’ve seen him work miracles, I’ve seen him open up so many doors for me but in the back of my head it’s that voice doubting God and I don’t want to never doubt him! So I pray now that God gives me a boldness in him and in his power and peace! For him showing me how much I can trust him in all aspects of my life!!

Praying for you ❤️ I hope things are much better now. I felt convicted by your comment, and as I prayed for you, I prayed for myself. Holy Spirit told me that the way to let His voice be loud in our hearts (more than that of the enemy or our past or our fears) is by staying with the Word. Thinking it, speaking it, listening to it. When we put our attention on His word, it’ll inadvertently leave less room for the devil.
This session really opened my eyes to some things and I enjoyed this thoroughly. In addition to praying I would like to mention that FASTING with prayer is also very important in spiritual deliverance and the fight against spiritual warfare. For example, in the example that Preston spoke about, in Mark 9, there is a father with a possessed son who had been tormented with a demonic spirit of epilepsy since the boy was a child (vs 9). This demonic spirit also took away this child's ability to speak or talk (vs 17). The disciples could not rebuke the evil spirit and so, when they asked Jesus in vs (28) why they could not cast the spirit out, Jesus informed them in vs (29) "This kind can come forth by NOTHING, but by prayer and fasting." This made me think about child hood trauma and the impact it plays on us as children and in adulthood. There are some who have been dealing with demonic strongholds since childhood. What I mean by this is that there are events that can take place (like being molested as a child, witnessing a high degree of domestic violence or alcohol/drug abuse and so forth) that in one's childhood, can turn to shape one's character as an adult. When the trauma occurs in childhood and because many children do not have the mental maturity to cope with the trauma when it occurs, this spiritual stronghold roots itself, and in a sense takes away from the child's ability to speak about it, and because speaking about it has the potential to expose the shame of the experience, a person may fail to seek deliverance. Then as time progresses the child grows into an adult struggling with certain things and not realizing or seeing the root of their issues, and so, just like the demonic spirit in the Bible, this demonic spirit has a spiritual stronghold on one's life causing the individual to "act-out" in all manners of ways, just like the spirit did in the little boy who experienced convulsion and got thrown into the fire and water (vs 22). My point is this, many spiritual attacks or strongholds occur in childhood and because this has the potential of having long-lasting effects into adulthood, Christ, I believe, in Mark 9 is revealing to us a spiritual tactic to fight against and rebuke what is trying to keep us bound. We have the power to overcome spiritual attacks and be released from spiritual strongholds through faith and the continued implementation of both praying and fasting, Why? Because sometimes, some deliverances can ONLY occur this way! I hopeful this is helpful to someone

God would do exceedingly of what you ask of him. Since I’ve rededicated my life back to Christ last month. I wanted to make sure my soul and spirit man get what it needs. Yesterday I discovered Jackie’s channels watching. Then finding this channel I was over the moon! Now I must locate his channel as well. God Bless my finances so I can start sowing seeds into good ground. There are true men and women of God that is really about God’s business. I am here for it! You are so right about SIN and who we are in Christ now. The enemy brings confusion when he manipulates the Word or uses people to utter words that change the Truth of God. The enemy's trick is still the same as the one he used on Eve. We must believe the Word totally and confess with Faith. The warfare is ongoing for believers and cannot end, so there is no break and Prayers help in this area. When we pray without ceasing, one is grounded and cannot be moved but one must submit to the Holy Spirit to direct.
I think this relight here was what I needed to hear 😳
1. The closer I am to believing in Jesus to change my life and restore my family , the more I’ve been attacked. I woke up with a feeling of depression, then less than 24hrs, It was gone. But then I started dealing with the aftermath of depression/anxiety. My down times are much much shorter BUT what I deal with coming out of the “hole” brings me so much shame and insecurity. As God is healing, the enemy is trying meeeee.
2. I had a dream a few days ago where I’m in a home and my family lined up in row formation behind the door with pillows as shield-couch pillows we used to own to be exact. It’s as if I were watching from the back at a distance waiting just like both sides. 🍿 (I don’t remember if I were in the line with them but still watching from a distance). Anyway, from where I was looking, I could see two men on the side waiting. I couldn’t see their faces because of the direction they were standing and I also couldn’t see their weapons….But I knew what they had. (Idk why I remember one having cross cross braids.) Anyway, after waiting, which seemed to have been a long time, the door was finally barged in to. Then the dream ended there. 😒 For some reason, I can’t seem to forget about the pillows. Like is it that we need to look at what we’re using as shield? Maybe it’s for us to decided how this kind of goes in terms of [are you going to check your shield and put the right one on or are you really about to fight with those pillows (like let’s be for real) 😅]
3. These days have been HARD. And when I think of the fact that it’s my family lined up, I feel resistance. We haven’t been united in forever despite living under one roof and I lack the … zeal to say… “ let’s finally fight this as a family” through Jesus. I guess I know what else to pray about now.

This was a good reminder that I needed to hear...that my spirit needed to hear...The Word of God is ALWAYS the truth ❤️ I need constant reminder because sometimes my mind is my worse enemy and the enemy really does attack my thoughts. I love and trust in you Jesus even though I have fallen on hard times. I know you are my Lord and savior. I will stay faithful and true. Heavenly Father please give me the strength to keep supporting my two autistic children, and myself. My sons require a lot from me because they are special needs. Due to them having issues in school, I’m now homeschooling them. I’m a single mother my husband passed away unexpectedly years ago. I lost my job at Forsyth hospital because I declined the vaccine. I have heart disease and I suffer from lupus that’s the major reason why I declined the vaccine. I’m waitressing and I’m grateful but I’m not making enough to make ends meet. Every month is a struggle, to not end up on the streets with my boys. Also now that I’m homeschooling them my schedule is limited. I’m so overwhelmed and ashamed. I get harassed and bullied on this app for sharing my testimony. It makes me want to give up. But even as I struggle! I have faith in God and I STILL PRAISE HIM! THANK YOU YESHUA! I KNOW God will provide. All praise to the MOST HIGH!

🇹🇹 So we just had a 5 day holiday here and I had a time of prayer and still had a practical example of this, I was here thinking that if you are a Christian you have to defeat temptation on your own to make God proud because He did all the work already so now it's on me to do my part...doing that I felt sad, alone and depressed and fell anyway. I'm saying all this to say ....thanx for this Perrys!!! I'm praying that I see Jesus not only as saviour but as Lord also.

This is so powerful. When Preston talked about prayer, it made me aware that I am battling something and it's not what I think. I've been feeling like I'm battling gluttony and depression but God is showing me that I am not actually battling gluttony- it's something else going on in the spirit.
You eat your feelings because you haven't made God your refuge it sets food up as your idol. When you want peace or comfort , especially during tough times but go to anything other than God it's idolatry. That's how it was explained to me and its helped me greatly. I hope this helps

I get what you’re saying but for me. I feel there will always be something in us that we need to identify and combat with him. For instance, I struggle with gluttony so I fast and pray. As my relationship grows with Him my diet, the shows ,and music I listened to changed drastically. I also believe we will constantly have something in our soul that is not quite right which will make us constantly lean and depend on God. If everything was perfect within us and we had all the answers then we wouldn’t seek him.
Now, this was a Rhema word! #1.Being reminded that sin seen & unseen is still sin blessed me. But your transparency & revelation about the lie you started believing being demonic really set me free from a lie that the devil had started tormenting me with the day before I saw this! 18:36 In regards to clinging theres times I literally had to ne praying all day because I was in tears about to given up faith...but God amen! I'm still believing I still struggle with sins and the enemy is an accuser of the brethren, but I cping to the fact while I was not worthy (and I really am not) Jesus saw me as worth it. I cling to that "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." Heb 12:2

The more time I spend in The Presence of JESUS, I'm able to fight temptation! I'm still tempted...yep! I'm falling in love with THE ROSE OF SHARON, THE VINE! I don't want to hurt HIM...I don't want to grieve HIS SPIRIT! I have to becareful how I treat GOD THE FATHER'S SON! HE don't play when mocking HIS SON! Obedience is better than SACRIFICE!

Okay when she was talking down to herself like that and the place it led her to, I literally SCREAMED. That has SO been me. It's sounded SO much like my voice recently. God is so incredibly faithful, and I am fighting my brain SO much to think about what is true, right, lovely, and pure. It's hard, man. I'm holding on to the hope that this season will be over in this life, that the idol of fear/ anxiety and depression WILL fall by His power, and that one day I'll be in a resurrected body at the feet of my Jesus in all that He is. WHEW. What a good one this is. Needed this one today. So pointed. Praise God.

this is my fist time watching a podcast and i absolutely enjoyed and look forward to watching more. towards the end you all described a dream of sorts and i had a similar reoccurring dream when i was younger that was quite frightening this spirit was trying to come inside my family’s home for nights and when it made it in all we could do is cry and hide in the closet never had it again. so glad that as i’ve been saved since being led astray i can put a name to this fight and acknowledge my battles with and in Jesus Christ.
