Catching up on my very long watch list and loving this whole series. You are getting me inspired for fall! I love the whole process from planning to sewing and it’s been very fun to watch. You look beautiful!
That flannel shirt looks like you should make a trip to thrift store to buy some used cotton flannel shirts for your fabric, already distressed and real cotton! All your pics are so cute, I am anxious to see what you come up with. My favs are the bibs, flannel shirt, and sweatshirts. Thx Whitney, another fun video.
Wonderful video! Love the idea of shirring the Rhapsody Blouse, and pairing that with the Mehan Nielsen Dawn jeans. Also love the idea of doing a lettuce sleeve and hem. Very great inspiration here. Thanks for sharing. 😁
Great outfits! I really like two of the jacket patterns for myself, thank you! I will by them from your links. I just finished a hacked pair of Harlene overalls, I made them into short overalls for the summer, very comfortable.I think your daughter will love these outfits! Thank you for sharing 🤗
New Look 6644 is also a great option for the denim cargo joggers and cropped sweater look. The New Look sweater has a banded bottom hem and v neck. The pants view C have the jogger cuff. The line drawing shows only 1 cargo pocket, but it's easy enough to add a second pocket. I think the pattern runs about $4.00 - $5.00 at JoAnn and Hobby Lobby. Sales are rare or non existent on this line, but 2 in one makes it a bargin.
I love that red on you! I bought some sensational high rise wide leg jeans and I'm stumped about what kind of top to wear with them. I'm definitely not a teen but I do think I can find some inspiration here :)
These are some of my favorite videos you do! Oh my look six was me all the way 😂. My sister and I bought jeans at a thrift store and ripped and distressed them ourselves, good times! Don't forget the Dr. Martens!! 🤣
I'm going to date myself. When we did lettuce stitching prior to sergers- I used a narrow close together zigzag stitch . On my machine it would be 2.5 width and .80 or small length depending on fabric. You just have to play around with it. Thank goodness for sergers and rolled hems!
Thanks-I took notes for my daughter You can do a lettuce edge on a regular sewing machine using a close zig zag...I think I used a rolled hem foot...It's been a while...
These are great ideas! I was wondering if you have any videos about sewing jeans for shorter people and what adjustments you might need to make for the pattern?
I have an entire jeans sew along on the channel in this playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLBjkGIpQpS07qMlbobmNwev5aD6gMNuV_ the jeans sew along is about halfway down the list and there are 6 parts. I go through the fitting as well as the sewing in that series!
HINT: Rather than ripping the holes in denim jeans, I think an off color 'weaving type' patch could be a great option. The appearance would look like a handwoven patch. I wish I could post a picture. IMO, the ripped look is growing old. But I like the idea of a handwoven patch look. ~ L
Ordered some of the legging fabric for some teacher leggings for myself. Planning on nice leggings and cute tops to get me through the fall. Secret pajamas.
I love these videos!! But how do you find the right pattern? Do you just spend time looking at patterns or do you do a special search? You do such a good job with this!
I do do some searching, but for the most part my brain just pairs looks with patterns. I must be using a large of my brain for pattern image storage 😂. No telling what other things had to be removed up there to make room 😂.
At this age, in the 1960’s, I loved my school uniform. My parents weren’t well off and all my non-uniform clothes were handed down from my older sister. At 13 I grew taller and bigger than her and for the next couple of years I had very few clothes until I got my first weekend job at 14 and was able to save enough to buy something new every month. If I’d had to face a fashion competition at school I’d have been very much on the outer. My school uniforms were the best quality clothes I had for many years so the pleated skirts, white shirts, v-neck sweaters and overcoat took me into my first job in an office. Still love a good box pleated skirt 🤣.
Great looks. Such a lucky girl to have a Mom who will do (and can) do all this! Such a lucky Mom to have a daughter who appreciates the efforts.
I was lucky to get a new pretty dress shirt!!
That’s so nice of you to say! I’m really enjoying doing this with her. It’s been some great bonding!

You look beautiful!
Aww! Thanks Whitney! I love the planning process as well!
A lot of great looks here...if only I were 20 again. Also, thank you for telling me about Style Maker Fabrics. Wow, their fabrics are amazing!
Isn't StyleMaker's stock amazing? They are definitely one of my favorite shops!

You are right on! We love to thrift together so this will be a fun project to source the fabrics and then make the shirt!
Beautiful fabric and pattern choices~~! :+)
Thank you for inviting us into your home and sharing your ideas and talent with us!!
As always, it’s my pleasure!
Thanks for posting.
My pleasure!
Thank you for the wonderful inspiration! You are a super cool mom on top of all of the other amazing things that you do!
That’s so kind! Thank you!
i'm not a teen but found great inspiration from this video! i hadn't seen that jean jacket with the hood before. thanks for the roundup.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
Totally making MYSELF some denim joggers! 😍
Aren’t they cute?!!

Thank you!
the sewing revival have a great overalls pattern, and trish newbury designs has some great top options, both talented kiwi designers.
Thank you so much! I will look at both of those!!

Yes! She even has a pair of Docs 😂. It’s like reliving my youth.

That’s so good to know! I’ll pass that info along for those that don’t use a serger!

@@TomKatStitchery amazing. I will check that out. Thank you!

I love the idea of visible mending (even if it isn’t really mending)!
I am making the overalls and crop top for my daughter, but the overall is going to come from a vintage pattern. Hope it works out.
I bet a vintage pattern will be great!

That’s a great idea!
I hope you try bleach washing a garment after it’s sewn.
I’m very tempted to try it!
😀
❤️❤️❤️

Your daughter is sooo lucky.
Dont the kids have to wear uniforms over there. Over here they have too.
At this age, in the 1960’s, I loved my school uniform. My parents weren’t well off and all my non-uniform clothes were handed down from my older sister. There are no uniforms in most of the public schools over here. However, many private schools do have uniforms.
@@TomKatStitchery Funny, there would only be a small number of schools that dont have to wear uniforms over here.
are they wearing crop tops with leggings? I guess showing everything has been normalized.
I think some do.
