    I do love your "top 5 patterns" videos, Sally! I love making woven tops, and the ability to hack them into dresses, change the sleeves, collars etc. means you can really get a lot of "bang for your buck". The Patina blouse you're wearing is particularly awesome 😍
    I have a Butterick blouse pattern that I come back to again and again - the number escapes me at the moment I'm afraid - which I recently hacked into a dress, and it worked brilliantly. I think hacking/mashing up patterns is great fun and it means you don't have to keep buying new patterns to get fresh looks.
    Thanks for making this video.

      Thank you so much for watching! Yes I totally agree, a lot of patterns have similar parts that can be changed and adapted don't they and it's fun to try. I'm glad you like my Patina blouse and thank you for sharing your favourite too x

    I love your makes.It's great to know you can cut the collar of the first blouse higher.I have been looking at the
    pattern but the neckline was too low for me.I know I could have altered it but it"s much better when it's done for you.

      Hi Maureen - yes there are two necklines, I don’t like anything too low and it’s fine for me. It’s always a pain to have to alter things isn’t it! Thank you for watching xx

    My newest favorite top pattern is the Paddington. I love it! It looks good on most and isn’t all that difficult. I use a lot of Big 4 and tend to not make things twice but Paddington and Ogden I have.

    Sally
    The top you are wearing w the collar is precious. Good job pairing it up w the fabric most stylish! Please, the cami you did the button down. Can you do a tutorial? I love it and need a few. Big bosom and a few button camis would help make things more modest. Think about a microphone as you have a shallow voice and my hearing aid only picks up half of what you say. Try singing or screaming a few minutes before to warm up your voice to have more volume an pitch. Your sewing is amazing. I appreciate how you share your makes a us. Keep up the good work young lady.

      Thanks so much! I have a sew-along on the button down cami it’s listed in the description of this video that might help :) I do use a microphone I’m sorry if you still find the sound shallow, thank you for watching and for your kind comments xx

    Hi Sally. I’ve not heard of the Ebun top so thanks for that recommendation. I’ve had the Sudley for ages but not got round to making it yet. I’ve got 3 sagebrush tops which I love and countless Ogdens! I’m about to make 3 new to me tops - The Phoenix blouse by Hey June, and the Itch to Stitch Galicia and Azores blouses. I’ve also got the Patina blouse in my list of things to make! Would love to hear your top 5 knit patterns. Happy Easter, Diana

    Thanks for sharing your top tips for woven tops! Your makes are always so nice and wellmade and I love the light and style you phothograf them in! Really inspirational ❤️ My go to pattern for woven tops (and tunics) is the Esme from the book ”Everyday Style” of Lotta Jansdotter. Such a ”hackable” pattern just as you mentioned for several of your picks.

    Great video Sally. I have bought the Patina and am looking forward to sewing it up some time this year! A couple of my favourite tops are the Closet Core Cielo and the Helen’s Closet Ashton top, maybe because I loved the cropped style. Oh and the Anthea blouse for its incredible sleeves - I’ve made 4 of those! ☺️😄

    I'm new so I don't have patterns to go back to, but I'd love to know what you think of the Fibre Mood Norma. I've been looking at that because I'm not keen on wearing collars 😀 I enjoyed the video - it's really helpful to hear how patterns can be used for hacks or using parts with other patterns.

    • @SecretLifeOfASeamstress
      @SecretLifeOfASeamstress  2 года назад +1

      I’ve not made the ‘full’ Norma blouse I’ve just stolen the sleeves but I can tell it’s a fairly simple pattern as blouses go. You usually have to add seam allowance to Fibre Mood patterns that can be a little annoying but I do love their styles xx
