    Does the Kryptonite New York Lock fit into a Ulock holster?

    • @consumerbuddy5837
      @consumerbuddy5837  2 года назад +7

      Hey there! Good question. Unfortunately, that bike lock doesn't fit inside a Ulock holster. It's only compatible with the Transit H-bar carrier. Thanks for the question and comment. Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll do my best to answer them for you.

    Will I be able to fit the Kryptonite Evolution U-lock into my jean's back pocket?

    • @consumerbuddy5837
      @consumerbuddy5837  2 года назад +1

      Interesting question. I'd say, this lock is too long to fit inside your jean's back pocket. What you can do though is loop it between your pants and belt. Leave the cylindrical part above the belt to keep it from falling off. You can then slip the U section of the lock into your backpocket. I hope that helps. Again, thanks for the question and comment. If you have other questions or need further clarifications, let me know and I'll do my best to help.

    I have bit of a niche question, So considering that my old kryptonite original keeper for 3 years started to fail on me with it's key hole, I'm a little concerned with the life span of these locks as this video is essentially a "best locks" video but with no real talk about the sustainability and reliability and how it is owning it from someone who actually owns and uses it.
    I spent about $35 on that lock and saw that it was a great option with a 5/10 on their security scale but look at me now, it doesn't work.
    I might be paying somewhere around that price point again but yeah.
    eventually the key hole would just not operate as normal, basically not budge when I was trying to unlock the lock to open so do you think I'd have to worry about something similar in the long run. I just want a reliable bike lock that I won't have to worry about replacing.

      First of all a good Kryptonite lock for city living is about $100. Secondly, I have a 8 year old Kryptonite NY Fugetsboudit and it also had your locket problems. What cured this issue was an occasional light application of powdered graphite. It's a dry powder available at any hardware store. People don't realize you should never ever use liquid lubricant like WD40 or similar on any lock, only dry powdered graphite

      @@kippywylie ohh really? Well that's very interesting because I heard so many mixed things being said about wd40 when it comes to locks but that makes sense, I'll try it and see if it works, it currently doesn't want to open the locket but I'll try. How should I go about applying it for my situation?

    Is the cable on the Kryptonite Evolution U-lock long enough to lock my bike's frame and wheel?

    • @consumerbuddy5837
      @consumerbuddy5837  2 года назад

      That would depend on the size of your bike. The cable length on this lock is around 4 feet in length. That's long enough for most commuter bikes where the wheel is placed closer to the frame. However, if you have a fairly bulky mountain bike, then you can probably only lock it through the frame. Hope that helps! Thanks for the interesting question and comment. If you do try it, I'm curious to know how it goes.

    What is the purpose of the bracket included in the Titanker Bike Lock Cable? How do I use it?

    • @consumerbuddy5837
      @consumerbuddy5837  2 года назад

      Hi there! Great question! That bracket is for making it easier on you to mount the lock on your bicycle. Think of it as a lock holder. To use, just remove the screws on the bracket and slip it on your bike's frame. Reattach the screws to secure the bracket in place. From there, you can just clip the lock unto the bracket and it won't fall off. To remove the lock, push the red button on the bracket and you should be able to pull the lock out of the bracket. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions or run into any problems. I'll be glad to help.
