I’m 3 weeks post op from an ACL and meniscal root repair. Counting down the days till I hit the 6 week mark, where I can be independent again. This video has put a lot of hope in me that I needed, cheers 👍🏻
Great news Gemma - really glad you're recovering well. You're absolutely right about staying positive and inclusive in sports or group activity - a positive mindset is really important. Also be patient with it - healing well takes time. Re: the muscle wastage, yes that can be surprising but now that you're up and about it will come back pretty quickly, but remember it all takes time (personal experience!). Hang on in there and keep smiling 🙂👍🙏
Hey Paul, thanks for your comment. Like you, I really do think sporting inclusivity and a positive mindset helps recovery 10 folds. Thank you for your healing thoughts 🙏🏼
All these exercises are at the end of 3 months or 6 weeks. As I had ACL+Meniscus surgery on 6 July 2024, but today on 18 August 2024 that is exactly after 6 weeks I have weakness in my knee.
Hi Gemma, your optimisam and headway is such a motivation for those going through this. I am starting with post op physio next week. Good luck with continuation of recovery. I am looking forward to your next video and maybe 🤞 yoga videos as I belive you will be incorporating more and more yoga in your practice. Cheers, Asja
Hey Asja, thank you for your comment and for watching the vlog. I'm so pleased you have found it useful. It makes filming these all the worth while when it helps someone. Good luck with your physio! You've got this 🙌
I injured myself in the exact same way 🙃 At BJJ I got taken down. I'd had my injury since January 2019 and had my op 4 week ago at Spire Leeds. I can't believe I've only just found this. We have so many similarities.
Hey, Oh my gosh! We are so similar. I am about 10 months post op now and I can promise you it does get easier. It is such a hard slog though. As for bjj, I haven't gone back. I'm too worried I would injure it again.
Got my ACL and Meniscus repair as well. The doctor prohibits me from using my left foot to walk (weigh bearing) so I had to use cruches for 6 weeks which is crazy. Btw, its been pas 2 weeks and I cant bend my knee more than 20 degrees, do you have any tips about that?
Gemma It's been... Three days after my surgery and I am feeling so much pain and I am not able to do the physiotherapy on my own.... Please help me and I am feeling my calf numb
@@GemmaLinaker Yes Gemma, I am doing fine... It's been two months my recovery has been delayed coz I also had a menusical repair too so it's quite delayed
Super video! I’m week 3 ACL and meniscus (the boring phase), you it’s super motivating seeing where you are two/ three weeks later.
Great work
I am so pleased the video has given you some motivation and encouragement. keep going! take care 🙏🏻
