I had a meniscus tear that was removed in 1998, when I was 21 years old. Arthritis, and eventually, a TKR wasn't needed until 2019. Pretty successful procedure, I'd say. Now I'm preparing for another meniscutomy for my other knee that is still arthritis-free. Hope it lasts as long as the other knee. Thanks for the video.
Thank you. I hope the doctors, lawyers and other professionals are like you who have passion for their career not just doing for money. Do what you like to do, and you will be above all of us.
I had finally released a lot of tension in my lower back this week was my hips my feet and now I need to work on my glutes. The muscle imbalances are extremely important to recover every little movement in the knee. I have lost motion in my knee but hopefully I regain it back. 143 out of 155
I’m from El Paso I wish my surgeon from Austin would have mentioned this to me. I’m doing my exercise from an arthroscopic surgery. If I feel it hurts I stop and I listen to my knee pain. How do I do the glute exercise? I was trying to find the video on your link. I’m so glad I ran into a video like this. Thank you.
I have some issues with my knee buckling. All of my joints are kinda a problem. But, my main concern at this point is my shoulder pain. I just keep watching the videos that come up from this guy because I just love how he explains everything in a logical way and seems like he Really knows what he’s talking about.
I was a Muay Thai practioner, weight lifter and cyclist prior to my meniscus surgery. And my meniscus tear wasn't caused by my sports, my tear was caused by my Job.
I had meniscal surgery and was doing great at 2 weeks, then started PT which hurt my knee. At 5 weeks I was at the gym doing upper body weight lifting and stopped to do 10 minutes on the bicycle, no drag. Two days later I could hardly walk on my knee. Now two weeks later, the front of my knee hurts with sharp tearing like pain when I step on my leg. I am very athletic and never had arthritis before the surgery. I had issues with putting weight on the leg after a knee injury during skiing, which I ski all season. I am beginning to think I did the wrong thing in attempting to fix my knee to be able to ski again at an expert level on pack slopes. I am at 8 weeks now. I stopped doing PT after I injured my knee. Wondering if my knee will ever be any better.
I had my meniscus surgery 4 months ago, and the physio is going well, however, just last week. Consistent clicking, popping, and grinding sounds have started. The pain in the knee restarted again while going up the stairs. Does this mean i have re injured my knee again? I plan to address this on my next physio visit, but i like your take on it. Any and all insights are welcomed.
Nice explanation. My question is when exactly we start exercises to strengthen knee. I had surgery today and doctor told me to put weight, walk normally, use stairs. No need to rest. Now i am confused what to do

I live in a 2 story split-level house and walk up and down stairs multiple times during the course of the day. My meniscus surgery was over 6 months ago and I am in so much pain some days I can barely leave the house to check the mail. I experience more pain walking on a flat surface than when I use the stairs. I'm using 2 canes to help alleviate weight-bearing on my knee. Am I aggravating the healing process or are the stairs good for me? Thank you, this is a very informative channel.
I’m not a doctor but I think the stairs are making you worse. I tore my meniscus and tried step up exercises suggested on another channel and big mistake, more pain and swelling.
I had my right meniscus surgery back in March 24, 2012. My surgeon (who is now deceased since 2022) had removed all the tissue out of my right knee. I would therapy with a couple of therapists who were kind of rude of wanting me to recover quickly in a few weeks instead of months. After eleven years I have been walking and running normally and I hated the fact that I have no muscle in my right knee, just bones rubbing together and stiffness which discouraged me. The only thing they gave me was blood transfusion and not a meniscal replacement or transplant, because that was only solution that available back then. I guess I just have to deal with my right knee having a hollow shape and different than my left knee. I don't want a knee replacement because it would be horrible situation. I tend to live with my current situation although I have bone on bone stiffness in my right knee when I bend, squat, kneel, slowly walking up and down stairs and sit difficultly in a lotus position every now and then. When I stand up straight, I would have wrinkles on my right knee because of missing meniscus muscles.

@@epmanualphysicaltherapy arthroscopic medial meniscus tear on knee. It seems to have stirred up arthritis in that knee i did not feel before Physio gave all regular exercises, Quad, hamstring, etc and then saw your videos. Always working on it but really bummed out! Wish your clinic was in Toronto.
Thank you! Sadly this was a worker compensation injury so getting physical therapy right after my surgery hasn’t happened yet. I’m scared because already 10 days.. I try to gently do bit of exercise at home. But I can’t lift the knee yet. I will follow up your advice on not being on my feet.
Post surgery care is very important. We should not rush the healing process. It's five months since I had my surgery. Though I was able to walk in two days, the pain remained till four months. Only now I'm slowly able to walk normally and cycle. The doctors don't advise properly. Please consult a good physio. All the best.
Thankyou! I’m two months out from meniscus surgery and still have a lot of pain usually when I first wake up. This video gave me a couple areas I’ve not been paying enough attention to. 👍
It’s not a good surgery. I’ve had it. It did relieve a lot of crippling pain but not all. At that time I didn’t need knee replacement. The Pain had to be caused by arthritis. I was in discomfort until I received an injection of A2M (Alpha 2 Macroglobulin) which is known to heal arthritis. I received it at a regenerative place & Within 2 weeks I completely had no pain, and no pain for the next 2years! In later years I started taking omega 3 & antioxidants and exercising more. Being overweight or becoming overweight agrevates the knees. There are A2M offices all over country. Just get a well trained, Ortho to do it that has good experience using it & understands the knee operation.
Hey so this is off topic but I wanna say about 4 weeks ago I was pitching in a baseball game and as I threw my first slider of the game I felt almost like a pop in my should and my arm kinda went numb, I have some range of motion but still can’t throw what would you think it could be ? Please help ❤️❤️
Please give me advice for bucket handle meniscus, it needs to be done, but I am worried about the pain afterwards, and the recovery time. I’m six years old and I do have some in my knee, will I be limping forever? 😆
Hello sir ....i got acl and meniscus surgery 8 months ago......my knee dont get swell after exercise but yes it pains ..but bearable...since i give my self 2 days gap after another gym session the pain is gone ..not fully but enough so that i can perform exercises again .....just after exercises ... i feel no pain ....but pain occur after 3-4 hrs.....but my main concern is the pop up sound coming from.my knee whenever i fully extend my knee like standing or doing leg extensions ...but that sound stops just after gym session for 3-4 hrs ...why is it making sound ?.....one thing more...i had surgery 2 year after tear ...my muscles were weak then after surgery my leg has half muscles of other leg ...and after workout i have seen growth of my quads but my other leg(not operated one )is becoming more stronger than operated on ...what should i do for that ?
It been a year since my surgery and I started working out and my knee started to hurt just no swelling. It gets me annoyed be up I want to do more but I cant.
I had surgery for both my knees for torn meniscus, when I was about 20, now I’m 32yr and each time I play soccer it keeps getting swollen. So I throw in heat just like I was recommended and swelling goes away about 2 days. But I’m not sure how long I can keep this up for.. I don’t want to stop playing soccer but I’m just not sure what else to do…

Hey Elizabeth, hopefully the problems you had have dissipated by now!
@@epmanualphysicaltherapy arthroscopic medial meniscus tear on knee. It seems to have stirred up arthritis in that knee i did not feel before
Physio gave all regular exercises, Quad, hamstring, etc and then saw your videos.
Always working on it but really bummed out! Wish your clinic was in Toronto.

I have nail patella syndrome, I just had a ligaments repair.. I don’t have no strength of any kind 😢
Sorry to hear that Magaly! Hopefully you can start to work on that so that it can improve!
Thank you! Sadly this was a worker compensation injury so getting physical therapy right after my surgery hasn’t happened yet. I’m scared because already 10 days.. I try to gently do bit of exercise at home. But I can’t lift the knee yet. I will follow up your advice on not being on my feet.

I'm having surgery on June 3 . Is there anything. I should be doing right now ?
Post surgery care is very important. We should not rush the healing process. It's five months since I had my surgery. Though I was able to walk in two days, the pain remained till four months. Only now I'm slowly able to walk normally and cycle. The doctors don't advise properly. Please consult a good physio. All the best.
Thankyou! I’m two months out from meniscus surgery and still have a lot of pain usually when I first wake up. This video gave me a couple areas I’ve not been paying enough attention to. 👍
Did you wear the knee brace all the time?am at my 15 days after meniscus surgery and still have pain.
Did you have repair, or did you have it removed? I have a bucket handle meniscus they told me it needs to be removed.
I had meniscus tear repair about a week ago and I have pain now in my calf and behind my knee so bad. What is this all about??
You may have a blood clot in your calf. Please please take a pinch of cayenne pepper ( the spice) a few times a day. It could save your life!
Hello doc. I’ve had surgery 10 months ago and I still have some pain that doesn’t let me walk normally, what should I do?
Hello. Do you still experience the pain? What actions did you take?
I have also facing same problem
Hi, it must have been quite some time since you did the surgery. Do you still have any pains?
Please update what you did for the pain. How is the pain right now? Is it sudden pain or because of anything you do?
It’s not a good surgery. I’ve had it. It did relieve a lot of crippling pain but not all. At that time I didn’t need knee replacement. The Pain had to be caused by arthritis. I was in discomfort until I received an injection of A2M (Alpha 2
Macroglobulin) which is known to heal arthritis.
I don’t want to get surgery, I got a complex tear… what are my chances that I’ll be able to go without surgery. Asking for a firefighter
I drink water in kilos
I'd be very surprised if you even have a shitty study to support the "drink enough water" claim.
Please give me advice for bucket handle meniscus, it needs to be done, but I am worried about the pain afterwards, and the recovery time. I’m six years old and I do have some in my knee, will I be limping forever? 😆
Hello sir ....i got acl and meniscus surgery 8 months ago......my knee dont get swell after exercise but yes it pains ..but bearable...since i give my self 2 days gap after another gym session the pain is gone ..not fully but enough so that i can perform exercises again .....just after exercises ... i feel no pain ....but pain occur after 3-4 hrs.....but my main concern is the pop up sound coming from.my knee whenever i fully extend my knee like standing or doing leg extensions ...but that sound stops just after gym session for 3-4 hrs
...why is it making sound ?.....one thing more...i had surgery 2 year after tear ...my muscles were weak then after surgery my leg has half muscles of other leg ...and after workout i have seen growth of my quads but my other leg(not operated one )is becoming more stronger than operated on ...what should i do for that ?
my physiotherapist is focusing on the VMO getting strength while focusing on the glutes
