Hi loves! This has been one of my most popular videos to date. Thank you for watching! Remember to subscribe and I also have plenty of other tutorial style vids here - bit.ly/3eReFsZ
Acrylic painting tips 1. Prime ur canvas 2. Work in layers 3. Dark to light 4. Dusting in (blending) 5. Water in down 6. Artist grade paint 7. Wet on wet 8. Variety of brushes
Every time I take a break from painting, when I come back to it I always watch this particular video (I’ve probably watched it about 4/5 times now). It’s super helpful just to remind myself of everything! Plus your art is beautiful and super inspiring!
I've recently jumped into acrylics and have been having fun making a mess of things, though I've been a little lost. Thank you for sharing! Also, I love your sweater!!
Your style in this video is just killer, love it. I just picked up a set of Golden acrylics after working with basically craft paint and I'm dying at how delightful they are to use. Their quinacridone magenta is *gorgeous*
I’m really wanting to do the same when I get the extra cash! I can only imagine. I LOVE some of my craft paints, but some are so thin it’s ridiculous! ($’s worth I guess) do you know of a good deal on the Golden or any other really good paints?
This Christmas I actually got student quality artist acrylic paint, and I never painted ever, And I’m the type of artist that does a mix of everything! And I’m loving acrylic! So this tip video was so helpful! Thank you! And I LOVE YOUR FRICKIN ART!! Keep it up! 💕 😊
I've never had any real training, so everything I do is from trial and error. I have been working from the lightest to the darkest, now I guess I'll try it the other way around. I also usually only use one or two brushes for a painting, large flat for big areas of color and a round brush for details and highlights. The round brush can have a nice little point or can hold a larger amount of color. Now I have two new things to try! Thanks for the tips
Just finding this and I'm so glad you said dark to light is a good technique! I've always been told light to dark, but I always do dark to light :D Great video!
Thank you so kindly for making a point to clear seal or varnish the beginning canvas it made my art work for me and not vice versa. You are beyond talented and really inspired me with this video alone. Great job Fr.
I’ve been thinking about starting to paint, I never did it, but now I feel like I need to step out of my comfort zone as an artist in order to expand my knowledge, and this really helps.
I’m new to painting and pretty much don’t know aNYTHING about it, so this video really helped! A lot of other videos I found didn’t have the information I needed, so thank you for this video! :)
so ive been painting for four years with acrylics and i just realized yesterday while doing a portrait that for some like me that works on canvas more often fabric paint is similar to acrylic although fabric paint glides and blends more easily compared to acrylics, looking forward for u and some people to try it, pretty much a life saver since my paints dry fast
What a coincidence, i just got a whole lot of dervian structure paints on clearance for like $1-$3 a tube (because the store was getting rid of them) and decided to brush up on some tips and tricks and the first video I watched, you recommend those paints! Haha
Ding dong dang, I LOVED THIS VIDEO!!! 😍 thank you so much for making this, your location and presentation is so cute and you were right, I DO just want to get right into the tips! Thank you for all this AMAZING info!
Wow you are so talented! I love the colours you use and the abstractness. If I could ever get to your level I'm making something like your thumbnail but into a Greek god! Imagine Zeus in that style
God you’re adorable! And your paintings are just... I don’t even have a word to describe them they’re beyond beautiful and mesmerizing. Can I marry you?
I keep coming back to this video as i go further with my painting studies. Thank you very much. It would be very helpful if you went deeper about the watering down tip and/or glazing techniques. There are few good videos about it on yt and none of them which i have found covers the super smooth effects you make on your amazing paintings. (Sorry about my English, im brazilian)
Hi. Tricky question. You say go dark to light which is great for mainly backgrounds but if it comes to characters that has shading. Should I do the opposite? Im trying to paint naruto fan based painting and ik what to do for back grounds but for more pop out characters it feels opposite for me. Like first skin tone and then shade? I am mainly a sketch artist. Any help?
I think your style is so dope! You inspired me to put my art out there, so I just posted my first Timelapse painting video. I do mostly anime and animated characters.

Yaaaay thank you so much much for this!!! Exactly what I need. ❤️❤️❤️
Glad it was helpful!
You look like a star. Your style is VERY similar to that of Melanie Martinez.💗
Lily Raimey not really her style is really unique and more extra-terrestrial, spacey themed than Melanie’s dollhouse concept
Seino Yeah, you should watch more of Melanie’s interviews.😂
Your artwork is so beautiful and original!! Is your artwork available for purchase?
Thank you! Sure do! You can grab some prints on my website www.zekeslunchbox.com
Just seems to work is right! I love acrylic 😍

What is the pink paper that you've been painting on lately? Is it Canson paper?
Aneesha Kyser yep pink canson card. The stuff that comes in a big sheet. ☺️💕
You have a beautiful talent~ To the point.. Quality tutorial! Similar techniques as Greg Simkins and Ten Hun..👍 (Golden fluid acrylics👌)
I LOVE YOUR BERETTTT

So I wanted to start painting and idk why but I chose acrylic to start with😂. This video really helped me thank you!!🙏🏾
What primer do you use?(:
I am a beginner and this was a lot of help
I just founded your channel... Your paintings are gorgeous, I really love them
Wow very pink
You tips to amazing👍😍 and very sweet voice
do you know if reeves paints are good or are they more beginners paints?
@milksop; Reeves are on the lower end of beginner paints. Liquitex Basics are student quality but higher end if you can't afford artist quality.
milksop yep! Exactly what Carol mentioned. They’re on the lower end so they won’t be as think or buildable.
Wonderful, inspirational content as always 💕
Alyssa Willis thank you so much lovely! 💕
i was just mesmerized by how cute you are! the tips were super helpful too, thanks :-)

That's so great!! Good luck on your new venture.
THIS BOMBBBB
Yess! Thank you!
We need a part 2 !!!
Just posted one!
does primer just mean white paint on your canvas to make it stick better?
It's a bit thicker and chalkier, so it helps the paint stick to the surface a bit more
I always heard people say that for watering down acrylic, you have to use paint thinner, can I just water it down with water?
First of all,
*I love you*
This helped me out a lot , I was wondering why my paintings were coming out so low quality.
