    I struggle with going from the groove into a fill back to the groove. Not just a drummer, I took some lessons for a while and I play bass. I just have trouble with that. I bring it up because I am sure I am not the only one. Cool tips, and congrats for getting Cris Adler's attention. 🤘😎

    • @CameronFleury
      @CameronFleury  2 года назад +3

      Is that something that you practice with a metronome? Try slowing down the fill you're going into. You could always practice the fill separately and then add the groove on occasion. Figure out what part is stumping you, and focus on that first. Then add it all together. Let me know if this helps!

    I do this excersize about every 3rd or 4th time I do footwork practices. When doing this, should you do 20 minutes of the same tempo? Or should we be increasing the tempo over the 20 minute period?

    • @CameronFleury
      @CameronFleury  Год назад +2

      10-20 minute intervals. I wouldn't go for much longer than that. If you're comfortable at a specific tempo, then feel free to increase the tempo in increments of 5-10BPM.

    I was getting up to 160bpm, feeling comfortable at 145 a few weeks ago, now I can barely play 130 cleanly. Feels like I've lost all coordination in my left leg, which doesn't make sense coz I've also been practicing keeping time on the hi hat with my left leg recently. Double bass has been the hardest thing to get good at its making me so angry it's like it's seasonal sometimes I can go faster other times im struggling with slow speeds. I've been playing for 7 years now my hands are way better but my left leg still sucks I'm just sick of it

      exact same thing with me, one day you rock 180 bpm passages, next day you have to go down 20-30 bpm. feels like the left leg has spasms… over the last weeks, i figured i should move more freely w my feet and start again from a lower point. ill see where it gets me, but i wanted to let u know that im absoluteley feelin ya 🥲 how long have you been drumming?

      @@jonasm.2254 since 2015 when I was 15. But when I started working fulltime I didn't progress much at all for a few years. One super helpful practice tip I use is dedicate a portion of your session using of your left leg as the lead and just jam to some songs that don’t require double bass. Like, play some Millencolin with ur left leg instead of your right. Don’t worry about leaving the high hat open, just focus on left leg control.

    • @shamicentertainment1262
      @shamicentertainment1262 Год назад
