- 🎦 About This Video:
I FINALLY went to the ER! I'd been putting it off because it wasn't necessary to go and I was hoping things would get better, but after a week of throwing up 1-2/day and barely being able to eat anything, I was forced to accept that going to the ER was the only option.
▶️ About This Channel:
I've always been a storyteller. I've written hundreds of short stories and multiple books, but I always sensed I was meant to share a different story.
MY story.
I wasn't sure what that was until I was diagnosed with STAGE 4 Alveolar Soft Part Sarcoma (a SUPER rare type of cancer for which there is NO CURE).
I decided to embrace my motto of Living Out Loud and started sharing my journey in vlog format.
This is my story. Real. Raw. Unfiltered.

((Hugs)) my friend. I’m also battling non small cell lung cancer (non smoker) for the last year. I’m sorry you’re going through this right now, that cough sounds painful. On a separate note, just wanted to let you know I am also originally from Montréal but have lived in Hawaii for the past 32 years. Wishing you love, aloha and positive vibes. Jocelyne ❤

Rest well, may the hospital get you where you need to be. Hope to see you on your next video with a smile and good news. Feel better soon! Sending love and a hug to you and your wife.
@hawaiipommon 1306. God Bless
@@suesmith3744 thank you 😘
Sad to see you needed to go to the hospital but I’m hoping the doctors will figure this out pretty quickly.
Thanks 🙏. It was definitely worth going.
Hey i can Tell that you haven't been eating because you're getting smaller I hope you be okay sweetie take care of yourself Love Crystal❤
I can tell too and that is something I hope the hosp stay helps with
Yeah. I definitely lost weight, but the losing of the face fat caused by the anti-swelling medication I've been slowly tapering off definitely makes me LOOK much skinnier.
You made a logical decision. I believe you will be better & able to eat after this small stay in the hospital.
Prayers 🙏
Thanks 🙏. It was definitely a productive visit. I feel MUCH better today.
I think your condition has a lot to do with the faster action. Not eating and throwing up every day needs attention. I wonder if your doctor gave them a heads-up. Anyway, you are looking more relaxed so hope they can make you feel better so you can eat again. You are a “trooper”, Guillaume. You are in my prayers. ❤️🇨🇦🙏
I think also that your Nurse may have called the ER to let them know you were coming in
Thanks 🙏. It was definitely a productive visit.
I’m glad you decided to go to the ER. Sometimes going there and if they put you on an IV and get your body regulated it can help. Sometimes if your body gets all out of wack with throwing up and other things once you get it corrected can help fix the issue. It acts like a reset. I’ve seen that with patients.
Yeah. It was definitely a productive visit. I feel MUCH better today.
@@LivingOutLoud-LWS4C I’m happy to hear that. 🤗
Good decision to go. Just to be safe
Thanks 🙏.
You are a strong man considering what you are going through l don't know if you are a praying man but God does work miracles......I wish you good health and a long life...God Bless 🙏🙏
Thanks 🙏. Much appreciated.
Every day is a step towards progress. You WILL be apart of that 1%.
Thanks 🙏.
Good plan. The flip side of the dreaded hospital visit is it gives one a chance to let go & relax knowing you’re in a place where things are taken care of for you.
Very true.
I hope you soon feel better and stronger now that you in the hospital with iv meds. Must be so painful for your wife who cannot visit you. Hugs to both of you ❤❤
Long-distance is definitely difficult, but we both know it's temporary. Soon we will be together and everything will be amazing!
How can you have such a sunny attitude..❤im a depressed person.Youre a inspiration.
@@Jaime-jp7bt Either I'm positive or I'm delusional. Up to you 🤣.

I hope you get proper nutrition somehow. God bless you & keep you strong.
Thanks 🙏.
You're lucky, we're happy !
Thanks 🙏.
I don’t like to be this way-but I did say a week ago to go! I hope you get better soon, real soon!!! We are celebrating the fourth today, but with that is all going on in the US not really in the mood to celebrate! Wishing you a speedy recovery!
I'm going to ignore the first half of your comment to avoid being sarcastic and insulting you and making myself look like a vindictive a**hole, so I'm going to focus only on the second half and thank you for your kind words 🙏.
@@LivingOutLoud-LWS4C
Somehow I missed your comment. I was only trying to tell you about the time I that I had severe leg pain-couldn’t even put any weight on it, ignored and didn’t go to the ER until I had trouble breathing-real stupid idea because I ended up with a pulmonary embolism. I am the same as you LES4C. Five times-pain fuck yeah I was just trying to save you some heartache. But you know your body best! What do I know-I am only in the same club. I will chalk it up as you were having a bad day. Just because some of us don’t tell our story on SM doesn’t mean we suffer any less. This will be my last comment on here. Sometimes with cancer we have to look beyond ourselves and think about what others are going through. This is your journey. I have my journey. I’ll leave it at that! 😢
Good to hear you’re where they can help you and get some relief. Get some rest and see you next update.
Thanks 🙏.
Hope you feel stronger soon. 😊
Thanks 🙏. Today I'm feeling better than I have in a month.
Wishing you a good stay. Hope they help you with the nutrition especially and put you back on track.
Thanks 🙏. It was a short but product stay.
Praying for you G that you get what you need and you receieve strength so that you will be able to eat and hold it down . Hope you have a better day 😀
Thanks 🙏. Today is actually the best day I've had in a month. Hopefully it keeps going this way.
I'm glad you have a nurse you can count on and trust❤
So glad you went to the hospital @G, you are losing weight and getting thinner by the day . They are there to HELP you , so relax and let them do just that ‼️ I do hope you feel better soon , thinking of you my friend ,you are so courageous and always positive , I need to channel some of that energy for myself right now…. God Bless , thinking of you 💙
Thanks 🙏, but turns out they discharged me after just one day 🤣.
@@LivingOutLoud-LWS4C DUH 🙄. Well as long as you feel better for it ( and I really hope you do ) it’s all good 👍🏻 💙
I heard a great quote today. "When you feel you are being buried- you are usually being planted." Even if not in this world, planted you are- you will pop up like a fresh, pain free, beautiful new plant in another, happier reality. This is the price you are paying for paradise that awaits you, either here on earth in in thy kingdom come.
God bless- namaste.
That's a nice quote. Thanks for sharing 🙏.
The idea that one goes to the hospital as a last resort because they are at the end of a rope is outdated. It is ok to check in for a few days to help you catch up, especially with weight and nutrition. The healthcare system is there to help you through this. Am glad you are availing yourself of this.
It's not a question of last resort. It's a question of doing what my nurse thinks is best. She has much more experience with this type of thing and I trust her judgement.
Peace remains with you always 🙏
Thanks 🙏.
My dear friend, I think you got the right decision going to the hospital, in this way you will be checked about idratation and nourishment.
Just one thing I want to point out: in this period you look very, very pale and even the skin on your hands is really too white.
I hope they will do blood tests for you as you look anemic or with problems for your while/red blood cells.
Try to make sure about this.
I send you a big hug and I keep finger crossed for your health 🤞🤗♥️
They do blood tests every three weeks, so they would detect it quickly if anything was wrong on that front. I just look white because I've barely been outside for the last two months (one of the downsides of having breathing issues and coughing bouts). But I appreciate your concern 🙏.
Thursday is always the least busy day at the ERs I cover.
And days of very good weather.
Really? That's good to know. Maybe it wasn't just my amazing luck 🤣.
You are so special to all of us. I knew you would make the right choice. You are the best advocate with prepkan.
Thanks 🙏.
I hope they can figure it out for you. 🙏🏻❤️🇺🇸
Thanks 🙏.
Oh sorry to hear this 😢.❤
It's ok. It was a very productive (and short) visit.
I’m sorry, I hope they can help you feel better ❤
Thanks 🙏.
Thanks for the update. I hope you get the pillow and some of those warm blankets that they normally have on hand. Hospitals are normally too cold for me to stand. They also have kits with an eye mask, ear plugs and chap sticks that help with the lights, sounds and dryness of the air. Praying they find a solution or at least send you home in better shape than you went in. May God be with you and Happy Independence Day! This is just one that isn't all that festice, hopefully in the future you will have many that will be much more enjoyable. God bless.
I brought everything I needed. The only thing I was missing was a pillow, but I didn't end up staying long enough for that to be n issue, so it all worked out.
Good decision. You need looking after.your very vulnerable.
Hope they can stabilise the vomiting. They hopefully can prescribe medication for coigh.
Hope all goes well oncology appointment .
Thanks 🙏.
Feel better. Funny, you reminded me of my story before my gallbladder removal.
My SURGEON: How do you feel today?
ME: FINE.
SURGEON. Did you eat anything today?
ME: NO
Yesterday? ME: NO!!!
SURGEON: This week?
ME: HELL NO.
SURGEON: We will get you in ASAP.
ME: YES YES YES!!!
Hahaha. Yup. That sounds familiar. Hope things are back to normal now.
I hope you feel better I been in and out of the hospital due to chest pain they say nothing is wrong do you think I could have anxiety
Anxiety can cause chest pain it’s happened to me. Ask them to give you an ECG to rule anything out. Wishing you all the best. 💙💙💙💙
I'm sorry to hear that. I've never had anxiety so I can't really help you on that front, but I have a few friends who have/had it and it's definitely a possibility given what you mention in your comments, but I would still recommend trying to get an official diagnosis to make sure it's not something more serious.
Thank you
Sending you hugs and good health karma from NYC. I'm sorry you're still vomiting and cant eat much. ❤
Thanks 🙏. I'm actually feeling much better now (today is the best day I've had in a month).

I'm so glad you made the decision to go to the ER. I felt so bad with the pain and nausea you were experiencing. There is no need to suffer needlessly. Get hydrated and catch up on much needed sleep! Keeping you in my prayers.
Thanks 🙏.
You made a wise decision. I hope the stay in hospital will help relieve your cough and nausea and you will go home in much better shape. Best wishes to you from Normandy France.❤
Thanks 🙏. The stay was short but definitely productive. I feel MUCH better today!
Hi, relieved you are in hospital as you so need this suport. I really hope they can do something to help the vomiting and cough. Really awful to have that every day. I just wondered if you also have an infection that is making your symptoms so bad. Your immune system has taken a hammering so maybe an infection is adding to it all. Just a thought. Can i give a suggestion that was once given to me? When you are coughing badly , hold a cushion firmly against your chest. This can actually help prevent rib breaks and takes pressure of the chest muscles. Please feel better soon as we all hate to see you going through so much. Love ❤🙏🤗🤗🤗🤗
Thanks for the suggestion 🙏. Much appreciated. Most other things you discuss in your comment I cover in today's video, so I won't ruin it for you by answering here.
Good day.Hope your feeling well
Have you tried scrambled eggs.
2 eggs beaten in plastic jug.add small amount milk semi skimmed and a little butter.beat this up and microwave for 2min 50 seconds. Tasty protein food.
Hope you can get some rest and they can get some nutrition into you. Reducing steroids can be very problematic for some people. It can cause all the symptoms you’re having. I was only a nurse not a Dr so hope they can sort you out. They’re the experts.lots of love and light. Take care. 💙💙💙💙💙
Yeah. It seems like withdrawal was the cause for all of this. Feeling great now. Hopefully it lasts 🤞.
@@LivingOutLoud-LWS4C that’s great news glad you’re home. Take it easy. Much love. 💙💙💙

Quite the baby face. I’m glad you went to Outpatient/ER, even if it’s for peace of mind. Ow… I feel that cough from here. PS: My mum died from lung cancer so I can identify- as one can, not having cancer. A big hug to all going through it. And, as I say, Happy Treason Day, erm 4th July to those who celebrate. ❤❤
Actually, the coughing isn't painful. Just really annoying.
At least you dont need to shop for food or prepare meals. So it good you are there. You can rest and also let them help If they can. Are you sleeping better in hospital? Is it boring?
Didn't get a chance to be bored. I was there a total of 8:30h before they discharged me 🤣.

As SmilingBeaver mentioned, we don't celebrate Independence Day in Canada. We celebrate Canada Day and that's on the 1st, so it definitely didn't have an impact on the rapidity of the ER that day.
I am with you. Went to the Er multiple times while undergoing cancer treatment. Not much fun. Throwing up became my daily routine. Had a garbage can with me everywhere I went. Just wish I can the answer why cancer is now so common. When I worked at Saint Vincent Hospital here in Erie there were very few cases now it’s like two out of three will have cancer. 😢. Hoping the docs can get you well! But now it’s hard to trust anyone because they seem to not know anything kinda like our president. Prayers to you. Cancer survivor Kathy Erie pa.
Yeah. Some people walk their dogs. We walk our garbage cans 🤣.
Why not get out in the sun for a jog?
He has cancer, the sun won't help
I definitely miss the sun, but I can barely walk without having to take breaks to catch my breath, so jogging is out of my wheelhouse for the time being.
