But having a terminal disease definitely forces you to decide how far you want to go in accepting the possibility. It is just best for all of us ( even those not ill) to be ready , whenever our timr comes. For some it is sudden.

1. Do everything you realistically possible to get what you want. 2. If it becomes obvious that you can’t get what you want, accept it. This is an essential lesson we are here to learn. But it is very, very hard.

I get your dilemma, choosing to believe that you will survive is a form of resistance. Resistance causes stress in some form. Stress causes us to wear out. Complete surrender might be what your karma needs. The reason that you don't want to surrender completely is to be there for your loved ones. Maybe discussing this topic with your loved ones is a good idea because they can agree to you completely surrendering and risking dying. But I am on the outside looking in so I only think I understand

I heard someone say years ago that they don’t fear death because it has nothing to do with themselves. Only life is what we enjoy but death has nothing to do with us. Only our faith takes care of the other side kind of thing. This life though? Is what we actually deal with was his point. It was interesting.
