It's two nights before Christmas, 2020, and announcing that Ken Hensley, original keyboardist and chief songwriter, passed away a few weeks ago. So, of the five original members, only Mick Box is still with us....
This a band that is considered one of the four major heavy metal acts of England of the early Seventies, and deserved so much more attention here in the States during their heyday. Thank you, fellow 'Heep Heads.' Brad Bothell.
Not heavy metal, hard rock and sometimes art-rock (progressive).
And one of the best with Deep Purple, Grand Funk Railroad and Led Zeppelin.
Stellar group, definitely one of the best rock band ever.

I was fortunate to have seen them at the Syracuse War Memorial along with Earth Wind & Fire as opening act. Uriah Heep put on a clinic especially them doing July Morning. Still 1 of the greatest bands ever. David Byron was a truly incredible vocalist taking nothing nothing away from the band itself. Awesome show.

Gary never played this song. There is a short version for SP (played by Paul Newton) and two extended versions, one was played by Newton, the other (better) by Mark Clarke

Totally agreed! Not Jaco Pastorious pulled this instrument to a higher level, no, that was Gary Thain a few years before. So tasteful fitting to the music, the dominant instrument in these years of Uriah Heep.

Imagine if they play like this live. This sound and performance quality. This is studio of course. At least they had craziness live, but in my opinion their lives were quite weak compared to studios and other band's lives. I always miss improvisation in Uriah Heep's play comparing to let's say Led Zeppelin/Deep Purple, but some Heep records are damm solid.
Perfect examples of David Byron making very average Uriah Heep songs sound good.
Demons and Wizards works both as a showcase for Uriah Heep's instrumental firepower and an excellent display of their songwriting skills in a variety of hard rock styles. Definitely worth a spin for anyone with an interest in 1970s heavy metal.

Жаль , что без видеосопровождения . Читал книгу о " URIAH HEEP " одного фаната " DEEP PURPLE " , он утверждал , что видеозаписей классического " HEEP " не более 5 , я лично видел не не менее 30 . Группа много гастролировала , есть частные , коллекционные записи видео , фаны UH , не будьте жадными , предоставляйте свои записи You tube !
А что имеетсяя в видупод термином "видеозапись"? Любое видео, даже одной песни, или видео полного концерта? Не менее 39 концертов это круто!
