My Saturdays are incomplete until I watch my favorite self-taught home builders weekly on RUclips. I'm not sure when I first found you, but the episode was about digging the holes for the concrete form tubes and the retainer wall. I think you both are building a beautiful unique home. Self learning is awesome but can be frustrating. I would love a EBike. My motorized bicycle I can't pedal it fast enough anymore to start it but it was alot of fun riding it. ❤❤

We were very close to building shipping container home in the middle or close to the end of Covid but the shipping container prices tripled and we needed 12 containers. Besides all the prefab work would’ve been ridiculous cost so we went with the steel buildings house. It is pretty cool, but it’s not shipping containers. Good luck kiddos. I Enjoy watching the progress

Why didnt you paint the underside of the roof when you could?
We will be installing a soffit system in the future.
Just wondering. Why do you grind the surface rust off so you can weld. You don't really need to do all that work, The welding wire will burn though that rust and your weld will weld as good as when you grind all the rust off, just saying.
The cleaner the surface the better the weld (from my experience) :)
I have a question that has puzzled me for years of watching videos in this age of smartphones. Maybe you can find a source that can answer it. Waning: It will take a scientist or a physicist to answer this question. Here goes. WHY does the selfie stick appear invisible in videos, even though it's shadow appears visible. This seems impossible and magical to me when watching you walk and explain a procedure you guys are doing, or when you are walking on a hike or riding a bike, etc. It really puzzles me. In this video, for example, you are obviously using a selfie stick to video yourself riding the ebike, but the selfie stick cannot be seen. So, in your spare time (hahahahahahahaha!!!) maybe one of your fellow videographers has the answer to this puzzle. Keep 'em coming. I always look forward to your content!
Thank you!!! Lol it's a 360 camera called the Insta360. The program in the camera automatically deletes the "selfie stick". Pretty crazy!!

Thank you for sharing , it's an excellent project & very unique .
I'm a radio communications engineer , the area looks perfect to set up a radio communications tower .
The one aspect of the project that I would advise is to clear a safe tree area away from the building just in case there's a forest fire ? , the good news is the property is made from steel so there will be no concerns on that level , creating a safe zone from potential fire risk would be marvellous , you would also have fire wood to burn in the winter too , in my view it's certainly something worth considering.

@@PacificPinesRanch Fair enough & I completely understand & besides hopefully it's highly unlikely any forest fires will happen fingers crossed , if you are reasonably close to the lake perhaps you could deploy an emergency fire hose , it will be highly effective & your new home is made from steel so you have many plus points towards a risk assessment . On another note have you thought of setting up radio communications ? , you would both have contact in the event of any emergency , it might be worth a thought as you have the ideal place . Best wishes .

I like that E-bike... I wonder if there is a way to modify it so that it folds in half. About 20 or 25 years ago, one outfit was selling road-legal miniature motorcycles that actually folded in half so I could fit it in my trunk. It was really cool... but I haven't seen anything like it since (not that I've been looking all that hard). I love your channel and your build, and I really appreciate all the effort you put into your videos. I'm eager to watch each installment... though I do sometimes get a little put out by the uploads that are primarily sponsor-related product videos... I mean, I really want to see you make more progress on your dream house. It's very cool, and fun to watch. So... what was the "secret" exactly? I didn't catch it... seems like you shared a bunch of inside information with us - but I didn't pick up on which tidbit was "secret"... lol.
