    I watched this video about a year ago when thinking about doing this job, but wasn’t ready for pulling the whole dash out. I’m keeping my truck for another couple of years, so it is time with winter coming. This is a great video and I will be ordering this kit and doing the job the right way.
    Blend door USA’s website is great and explains the options for your particular truck, so I know I’ll be buying the right kit for my rig.
    Thanks for the detailed explanation and what to look out for (careful with the tabs and adjustments).
    Great video! Thank you.

    I just found your video and want to confirm EVERYTHING you said about Blend Doors USA! The product is top grade and I also talked to Jim for almost 2 hours about camping,fishing and everything else under the sun! I had my doors replaced prior to you making this video by a local shop here in North Carolina. I seriously considered doing the repair but decided I wasn't skilled enough to do it. You did an excellent job detailing how to replace the doors and I feel confident others will have no problem doing theirs!

    Jim from Blend Door USA is an absolute pleasure to work with…..super great guy. Dodge Rams are great trucks but the do have their weaknesses. The blend doors is one of them. If you own a 3rd gen Ram, at least one of you doors is broken. This is the answer to making your HVAC system bulletproof.

    • @markbaustian9503
      @markbaustian9503 19 дней назад

      @@JohnDoe-dv9yl more than likely it is your problem. It was actually really easy to remove the dash and the heater box. Replace all of the blend doors in your heater box. Also bench test each of the actuator motors. It is as simple as using two jumper wires and a car battery or battery charger. Removal of the dash is easy as well. There’s another site on RUclips that shows you step-by-step how to do the entire job. I end up replacing my entire air conditioning system, including the heater core, evaporator coil, condensing unit, compressor, filter drier, and the smaller diameter line that has the metering device in it in a total of eight hours with two people. I am by no means a professional. My heating and air system works great.

    Excellent video and instructions. I have the mega cab version. No questions from me, just a recommendation:
    For anyone doing this job, it is a wise choice to purchase the Mopar foam sealing kit to replace the weather stripping.
    It is precut, with adhesive on one side to stick onto the vent box. It is simple and works very well.
    I would have never done this job without your video. Great work!!!

    LIKE YOU, I HAVE INSTALLED OTHER DOORS. BLEND DOOR USA HAS THE BEST PRODUCT HANDS DOWN !!!! ABSOLUTELY THE BEST DOOR OUT THERE, PERIOD....
    AND YES, USUALLY THE DOOR IS BROKEN AT THE PIN AND THE RECIRCULATE DOOR FALLS DOWN AND COVERS THE FAN INLET SHUTTING OFF AIR FLOW. FYI, THESE CAN BE REPLACED THROUGH THE BLOWER MOTOR HOLE AND THE GLOVE BOX WITHOUT REMOVING THE WHOLE UNIT FROM THE TRUCK. I'VE DONE IT 2-3 TIMES.

    Great video thank you. Struggling since May to get my air working right. Almost everything has been replaced. Orifice tube was frosting up and air was warm out of driver and a little cooler out of passenger side. Dealer said orifice tube was clogged so I got them a new tube and they banged me for another $228 and now for the second time since May we were ice cold. My air was blowing cold and then I came to and intersection. After sitting at the red light for a few min, I started moving again and the air got warm. Since these are servo motors and not vacuum actuators this makes no sense. I had Dodge put in these dual zone Blend Door USA doors in May and after 6 trips back to the dealer the air was finally blowing cold. So cold I turned off recirculate and put fan on low and then added about 2 or 3 clicks of heat to the driver zone. 2007 2500 Megacab 5.7 cummings. I have spoken to Jim several times since May to Jim trying to figure this out. On recirculate the air noise is loud but the air flow in my opinion seems weak. I had the dealer pull the dash again and remove the screen which I think helps divert air to the back seat and I got a little stronger air flow out the vents. There is a lot going on here and I did not write this in chronological order so feel free to call me with any questions. Bobby 561-722-3248

    • @MorFabIndustries

      Brittle plastic. Most times they break where the plastic shaft meets the door. The plastic gets super brittle over the years and the actuators are pretty strong. If a door gets stuck or of your blower is on high and you change modes, the force on the doors is enough to break them.

    Great detailed video. Since I'm one of those "Limited number of people" mentioned on the website that has a Mega cab with the rear vent system and would need the special dual zone MC kit. At the end you did address the dual zone doors but didn't mention the differences when changing the doors. Does the Dual Zone have 2 actuators (second being where you called it a dummy' connector)? The website also mentions the MC kit will re-use the existing rear vent system door. I know you didn't have one to demonstrate what thy are talking about.. but it would be nice to know.
    Thank You!

  • @moreucme2797
    @moreucme2797 2 года назад +1

    The hvac motor dosent sense anything. All actuators have limit switches. Once they hit full load the limit switch shuts them off. If you buy an actuator just for generic building you can adjust them too your needs. But that said you have the best hvac video to date, good job. In light duty vehicles all electrical controlled actuators get set in default once the power is power is denied to them by the body module.

The only thing is that only hot or cold air come out of any vent on the passenger side and just indoor truck air comes of of either of the driver vents. Could it be a stuck temperature blend door?

    A big tip for you who have good working blend doors. Never change your blend doors whe the blower is on and that means turn off your blower for a minute then change your blend doors to on your feet inside outside air or defroster and if you do this your doors will last a long time. If you change your blend door with blower on high you can hear them slam shut and that’s what breaks your doors or crack your pins or where pins go into the doors. My 05 broke the inside outside air by hitting a utility trench across the hiway with no signs or warnings but that’s a easy fix and if you blower is on high and you can hardly feel any air flow. There are 3 screws that hold blower motor under glove box and there is a electrical connector and lower down blower motor reach up inside the hole where blower came out and grab the broken blower door out may have to flip it around to come out plug in your blower and put blower back in and you have full flow again! And if you want out side air open a window a little and inside air close all windows and it works great and will freeze you out or heat you up just like before no parts just 10 minutes of your time hope this helps some of you guys .

    I'm leaving mine on defrost only, 06 Ram, great video, and I swear all the time at the Chrysler, Daimler engineers..
    Is the same quality you get in a 5 gen?

    How do you remove hvac unit without discharging a/c Freon ? That is something only a shop with recycling equipment can do by law. And after reinstalling hvac it will need to be evacuated and charged. So how does a diy guy do this ?

      You can't, without discharging. Either have to have the recycle unit, or kill all the bald eagles by discharging into the atmosphere.

      Go to a place like Jiffy Lube or a Mechanic shop, or better yet CALL THEM BY PHONE, and ask them how much it would be to evacuate your system, then later to recharge your a/c system.
      That seems to be the only way, unless you know someone who has the HVAC Machine.

    I'm in the middle of this "fun" process; I have the entire dash disassembled (OOF-dah) and removed from my boss' truck... only been a week and a half since I started, so I'll easily be able to remember how to put it all back together in a couple more weeks when I'm done...... nope, I'm gonna be out of a job... great.
    ANYWHOSE, I've watched this video three times so far, and I gain more understanding and familiarity each time. This is Premium content, folks. And extra appreciation for the courteous OMISSION of coarse language. There is just FAR too much verbal diarrhea in videos these days, and it's a sad indicator of how low-class and ignorant Americans have become. I don't care how interesting the video content is, if there's cussing, it's an Unsub from me, dawg.
    So thanks, MorFab, for showing some class! 🏆👍

    I believe that the PCM supplies the current to the actuators & it is the PCM that senses the overcurrent & opens the supply to the actuator. I believe the actuator has no smarts.
