When future Marty (Michael J. Fox) is goaded into a shady transaction, he loses his job.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Things have barely settled from the excitement and resolve of the original Back to the Future, when in pops that crazy inventor Dr. Emmett Brown (Christopher Lloyd) with news that in order to prevent a series of events that could ruin the McFly name for posterity, Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox ) and his girlfriend are whisked into the future to the year 2015, where Marty must tangle with a teen rogue named Griff, who's obviously the descendant of Biff, the first Future film's bully. Marty foils Griff and his group when he jumps on an air-foil skateboard that flies him through town at rakish speeds with the loser bullies beaten again. Marty gets a money-making brainstorm before hopping in the time-traveling DeLorean, and he purchases a sports almanac. He figures that back in 1985 he'll be able to place sure-fire bets using the published sports scores of the games that are yet to happen. Unfortunately for Marty, Dr. Brown disapproves of his betting scheme -- he feels too much messing with time is very dangerous -- and he tosses the almanac. A hidden Biff overhears the discussion about the almanac, sees it get tossed out, and grabs it. Thus begins a time-traveling swirl to make the head spin. Biff swipes the DeLorean, heads back to 1955, and with the help of the unerring almanac, bets his way to power. The now-altered "Biff world" has turned into a nightmarish scene with Biff the mogul, residing in a Vegas-styled pleasure palace and running everything. It's all our hero Marty can do to pull the pieces together this time, as he must jump between three generations of intertwined time travel. The end of Back to the Future, Part 2 introduces its sequel as the zany professor has already time-dashed away to the Wild West of the late 1800s and invites Marty into a new adventure.

Exactly this.
The fact that mcfly can easily be goaded into doing anything just by implying he's a coward, is abit ridiculous and stupid. Yes I know he has an ego problem, but there's a big difference between someone being arrogant and a complete sub-intelligent cretin. It seems that all you need to do to make mcfly do anything you want is to imply that he's a coward. You could easily trick this guy into committing suicide easily. "hey I dare you to... drink that chemical, run across heavy traffic, jump across that deep gorge to the other side. Oh.. what? you chicken?"" and the moron would do it.
LOL Marty looks way older than Michael J Fox does in 2015.

This scene always really interests me. It’s the fact that the Japanese boss’ influence over Marty is absolute, alluding to how at this time everyone thought Japan would overtake the US as the world’s dominant economic power.
I also love how the Japanese boss still uses fax which is accurate even now in present day lmao

I love the implication that Marty is still a good person despite making bad decisions. The "What have I done?" Instant regret on his face right after doing the bad deal with Needles shows this.

It seems like the accident made Marty end up what his dad used to be. A miserable office worker who got pushed around by a bully from childhood who was his co-worker.
i guess they mentioned in the film, that marty lost his ability to play rock gituar because of this accitend, which he successfully prevented in the end of part 3^^

He was goaded rather than bullied as they know he gets defensive if called a chicken and can manipulate him into doing reckless things be it that drag race in 1985 or that scam in 2015.
From spending time with his ancestors in 1885 and learning about one of them who was very similar to Marty made him realise when to back off from being challenged by others therefore turning down that drag race in 1985 of his own free will (only Jennifer knew he was going to crash his car had he raced). Marty learned from the past to change his own future and perhaps got to at least attempt a career as a musician.
It’s funny how history repeats itself.

Notice how Needles does this very sly look to the side before he hangs up. It's almost as if he was acknowledging on another screen to someone else.. likely the Jits. Perhaps it was needles working with Fujitsu to sting Marty.

@@BellicIV in the 80s when this was filmed, Japan’s economy was dramatically growing and were top manufacturers. At the time, it was calculated that by the end of the 20th Century Japan would have the world’s largest economy. Japanese businesses will absorb American businesses and so forth.

I like how old Biff taunting Marty sets up Marty's motivation to buy the sports almanac. He is insecure about his future and wants to be secure. This scene also sets up the idea he will be left unemployed and his family destitute. But fate changed because Marty grew as a person and learned from his experience. Hell if he had access to that easy money he probably would've become another arrogant Biff. Someone who only sees the easy way out.
I like how all the fax machines start printing out “You’re fired” probably the best part of this scene.
I've always loved Jennifer's reaction at 0:48. She seems to recognize this behavior in Marty and angrily knows what he's going to do.

Thankfully, as proven in the final film, Marty manages to learn his lesson and avoid the car accident that destroyed his planned musical career. Therefore, even if he DOES end up with the same job as in THIS movie, Marty will at least have the courage to refuse Needles' illegal business proposition (or at least scan an arcade card and/or expired credit card that Needles wouldn't realize until he's too late).
Or would've tipped off Fujitsu and made it a real sting.

It's funny that you mention it. A company has just manufactured real life working hover boards, inspired by this movie. They use quantum levitation, so they do need a copper floor to operate. You can purchase them for a lot of money on Kickstarter.
The only thing they got right here,Is the flat screen tv,Not sure if it's even 720p.

It really is sad to think how this is where Marty's life was headed even going through the events of Back to the Future.

Marty (Michael J Fox) has hardly aged at all in real life. When 47, he could still almost pass as a teenager.The playing the part of three characters in that sketch was amazing.

Yeah, Michael is lucky that his youth hasn't affected him too badly over the years, but sadly Parkison's is slowly creeping in. He still acts, but its difficult.
If you think about it, Needles’ shady business deal occurred outside of Work after work hours in the privacy of his own home. So Marty could have sued Fujitsu for wrongful termination and invasion of privacy and he could have gotten his job back as well as a huge settlement for the damages.
It's easy to overlook if you're not paying attention but right as Needles hangs up the phone call, he looks away from the camera and smiles. He might have been working together with the boss to try and find dishonesty.

Because needle set everything up to rid of marty and manipulated the jits to make him believe that marty can make bad decisions and if marty had denied the proposal, then needles would look like the bad one.
So in this version of the future, in just 30 years we'd discovered both nuclear fusion & anti gravity technology but printer technology had stood still at dot-matrix
Roger Swift funding for print technology research was redirected to anti gravity. Think about it.
So far, anti-gravity only is for Mario Kart 8.

Anyone feel Marty was set up? The way Needles looks to the side at the end of the call, like he has the Asian dude on another screen and is signaling that yeah McFly went for it

Love this movie. It's my favorite of the trilogy because of how funny it is.
I love the hits and misses of their 2015 predictions: spot on about multi screens and video conferences, over reach about flying cars and hover boards, and under reach about public phone booths and fax machines
he is able to defeat Biff, a strong but not overly intelligent villain, and not Needle, physically weak but very devious. The scene shows how sneaky people are the most dangerous in life.
And that's usually the way things work in the long run. The biggest bullies are the ones who are able to manipulate you and take advantage of your psychology for their benefit. Yeah, guys like Biff are scary and can ruin your day - but guys like Needles are TERRIFYING and can ruin your life.
Interesting that despite his father having changed, Marty still has the same emotional problems as in the original timeline.
elnombredelarosa Marty hasn’t learned anything new at this point in the movie where his father found the confidence to punch his bully and that changed him forever because he realized he doesn’t have to put up with biffs sh*t and became a stronger person because he never would’ve done that unless Marty befriend him would little by little put some confidence in him when he tired to get him and his mom together
Ironically, these problems may have stemmed directly from Marty's time travel. I think when Marty went back into the past, he didn't just change his family and Biff, he changed himself. Now that his father was bolder and stood up for himself, he would've taught his children to do likewise. But Marty took it too far, leading him to recklessly respond to insults and goading. Part of his development, then, involved him learning to restrain his emotions and think things through, as well as to become a better judge of character in who he allowed in his life.

Marty would have been uneffected by any changes in the timeline because he was in the DeLorean as they were happening around him so the Marty we see in all three movies would always have all the flaws he had before his trip to 1955. There are two versions of him and this one doesn't have the same past and the same memories as the one who was raised by the more confident George McFly.

You are correct, they set Mcfry up.
Needles did appear in Back to the Future Part 3 while he and Marty were in the year 1985. However, Marty had made a good decision not to race against Needles in their pickup trucks and that FAX note said the future Marty was fired got erased. So make a great future, Marty and Jennifer, even in the year of 2015.
Clearly Needles was setting Marty up...he decided to give it away, give it away, give it away now to their boss to get Marty fired. Now, Marty will be living under the bridge uptown...
