The problem is that they keep raising prices and people keep flocking to the parks. There is no way to duplicate the experience anywhere else. They simply do it the best. There is no reason for them to not continue to charge more until attendance falls off. At least they are investing heavily in new attractions to keep it fresh. I know how you feel, though. Been going since 72 with my parents then with my family and there is no value to be found. I just accept that walking in the gate and enjoy it as much as possible.

We are all peasants. The real Princesses are the business tycoons. Even though Disney portrays itself to be a leftist with their political views. By firing people over comments made 10yrs ago. They have a completely capitalist mindset. The hypocrisy is uncanny. If it actually wants to be a socialist then they should follow with what they preach. Equality for everyone.

When I was 6 years old (so, 24 years ago) my grandparents brought the whole family (I believe there were 13 of us at the time) on a trip to Disney World. We stayed in the Grand Floridian. It was only after I started watching this channel that I realized the range of how much they had *actually* spent on that trip and how extremely generous they were. The funniest part: I, at age 6, was the oldest grandchild, so they spend all that money for a trip that only I could remember, and just barely 😅

I know I'm gonna get a lot of downvotes for this one but....Disney has been inflating prices at about the same rate as general cost of living. Guess what hasn't been inflating? Wages. If companies are still paying their workers exactly the same wages as they did 20 years ago, but everything else in life has gone up in price, then you can't afford the middle class lifestyle you were used to anymore. Not only is Disney more expensive, but so is your rent, your food, schooling, childcare, etc. So you have less disposable income on top of all that. Disney jacking up prices isn't the only problem, stagnant wages are the biggest contributor in why everything seems to be more expensive now.

But minimum wage in Florida has risen 49% compared to the wages in 2000? Not to mention the installation and addition of attractions across all parks that took place during this time?? Remember when Disney first opened cost of admission was much lower but a lot of attractions you had to pay additionally to access after admission. Now you pay one entrance price and have access to everything included. Not to mention a $10000+ spent on end of the night shows that take place in every park at the end of everyday…

Many years ago, when I was still young and cute lol, I met a handsome young man who was working the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. I first noticed him when I boarded the ride, then happened to notice he was waiting for me when the ride reached it's in (at another location!) He stopped me and asked if I wanted to meet him on his lunch break, he was cute, and when single and young, why not have a fun vacation fling right? Well, this turned into the coolest date, and awesome long distance friendship. He took me through all the fancy backstage things, I walked a catwalk HIGH above the ride we met at...it was a long way down for sure! I got to see the inner workings of Space Mountain, the "forbidden" parts of Cinderella's Castle and much more. I felt very lucky and honored to spend my entire Disney day like a Disney Royal w/front of the line access to anything my heart desired, fine dining, and more (Not to mention souvenirs from any shop that interested me. Turns out, my Disney Love, was a child of one of the Head Directors of the park so - he basically had free rein of the park anyway. Just wanted to share my story for a couple of reasons: One being, if you have the chance to get to do any of the things I mentioned whether you pay for it, or it's offered on a golden platter lol, DO IT! The second reason is simple. Just because you are on a short getaway, don't close your eyes to the possibility of love or at the very least, a long lasting friendship with memories that can last a lifetime! So here's to you Shell (ironically his name is my nickname) - thank you for the years of friendship and the memories created. I will love you always and take the memories with me to the end of my days!
If I may, let me mention one last thing, this isn't just for the young, it is for the young at heart as well! Shell was not the only friend I made on that vacation. At our condo, I made friends with 4 other people who I spent each evening with around the pool until they would run us out - we laughed, played cards, shared wine - it was an amazing time truly. Two of the people fell in love, got married, and returned to England- Wendy and Michael respectively. He was from Texas, she from England and visiting with her kids. I had my 2yr old with me (and my parents thankfully lol) and the other 3 friends I made Mark, Erica, and John - from the Keys and all the way up in New Jersey, have remained in my life as well. This all began 23yrs ago and I think about it often. LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST WHILE YOU CAN!!!! And remember age is merely a number, what we have in common far surpasses the man made construct of time!

I know has been mentions of quiet v loud on lists before (like the center of the contemporary due to chef Mickey's), but can you do one with the actual wall thickness, thick windows to hear no outside noise, and the least chance of loud people in mind? Although we knew it was a big deal and appreciate it, years later that same Club 33 member and myself would feel our jaws drop as those hourly rates went up 4x to 5x in price. We'd never pay that amount now. I'm not saying the experience isn't worth it, I'm saying we object to inflated prices and irresponsible spending. Even the rich draw a line somewhere and say "Nah, I'm out." I wish more people would. Disney won't stop jacking up prices until most of you learn and stop going. The birch wood stuff makes it feel like "cheap, dodgy, near the Beach hotel" vibes. Replace all the wood with black wood, the table with dark brown wood. Get rid of the table thing against the couch and turn into a half wall, it's like a feature wall (with blurry glass on top, the walls have some art by an artist from Disney maybe). If you’re famous (and judging by the D- and C-list celebs Disney has feted that’s a big subset of the population) your visit is typically coordinated by Disney PR staff, rightfully so as personal security is an issue most park goers enjoy without second thought. By far the best experience is a Disney vacation where the general public has absolutely no idea who you are. Disney parks management may well know you’re there (Did Disney shareholder relations help organize your trip?) but for many in the one-per-cent-of-the-top-one-per-cent, it’s a rare enjoyable opportunity to be part of the world at-large.

Price is steep but it's for up to ten people so that, to me, sounds like something worth doing. Then AJ talks about the other VIP tour and that sounded even better, way better. Wasn’t a VIP tour, but during my senior trip, we were taken backstage to Haunted Mansion and saw all of the tricks they used on the ride. We also learned a lot of interesting history in the American section of Frontierland (i forget the name!). Definitely an experience I will never forget.

7:21 21 Royal was going to be Roy Disney's private apartment. However, with Walt's passage, I don't believe Roy Disney ever had any interest in staying there, and so it was unoccupied for years. It was for a time used as a Disney Gallery, and open to the public with no admission charge. I guess they have decided to make an exclusive experience out of it. I'm just glad I was able to see the place, while it was still open to the regular public.

*Walt sold much of the rights to Disney before it became the Disney we love… I think Disney may be embellishing the whole “Walt was going to live here bit as incentive to stay.”* love this channel

I'm embarrassed to admit I hadn't even considered that when it makes so much sense. This video alone is full of mentions of celebrities staying here and eating there, claiming that something was meant for Walt himself is a great marketing strategy.

We just did a Private VIP tour last week. Totally worth the money we hit all 4 parks and 17 attractions. We also had an AMAZING guide! It made us able to do everything we wanted on our short 3 day trip.

My friend and I were at tower of terror and we started talking back to the cast members in that same old timey accent. we also posed funny during the ride picture (rock paper scissors) and the cast member saw. He took us thru this back elevator, skipped the line and got back on immediately 5 mins after we just got off. Love the cast members.

Our one time experience felt like we were royalty. To be able to not think about cooking and having free dinning meant royalty to us. We left the trip and had to pull out money to pay for the Starbucks at the airport and that was when we knew that we were no longer of royalty 😔

I’ve been in backstage Disney before. I wasn’t and still not a cast member. I was back there with permission. The reason I was back there was because my high schools marching band performed in the magic kingdom parade on thanksgiving. The cast members led us to the backstage area so we could get ready. We were the very first unit in the parade, so we were leading the entire thing. When it was over we went back to the backstage area to change back into comfy clothes, and a cast member gave all 150 of us (not including the other 2 marching bands from the other high schools in my district (with the other 2 bands there was probably just under 700 of us)) an exclusive performing arts Mickey ears.
