I just bought this same model built. It is totally painted flat black which gives it a more ominus look! I really like it! The builder gave me a great price. This model also has interior lighting.
@@RCSubGuy I think you're right! I going to try and work on this model, when I can make some room. This model is big and heavy at about 4 FEET! I don't know who makes this kit, as everything I've seen on your program and on line is different. It could be possible that it is 3D printed.
@@RCSubGuy I found my version of this model. It is a 3D printed model, and a downsized version of the original pattern. It took maybe over 200 hours to print as per the video! I've examined the model, and it is a fair build. I will make it definitely better.
Hello Bob, really a very nice model, I came across your videos while researching submarines for my 3D models, I could see some details very well in your videos, they are really great and instructive, thank you very much for that.
Beautiful!! Another amazing product and job well done Bob. I hope to be able to upgrade sometime in the future. I'm still excited to get my 31 inch kit. Hopefully it ships soon!!! 😁
@@businessdevelopmentofficej2747 Yep, I had found this. It comes in 12 or 18" lengths, not 36". I have no personal experience with that kit, however it appears to be a decent, basic model. CA glue to assemble. Use a base of dark brown. Highlight panel lines with an airbrush, then wash with red ochre or similar color to get the rusty effect. Good luck.
Thanks for response - as far as I can tell you are the Authority on these endeavors on RUclips - I have ordered kit plus the special cement required - and will let you know what I discover
Bob, I bought from you several years ago A 66 " version. You were originally going to supply the iris window. Is that available with the motor? Tom Paul
Nope. Never offered the closing iris. Never offered a closing iris assembly. I have implemented them, but as custom, one-off work. It's very complicated and there is not a lot of room in there. Iris shutters are available from companies such as Edmund Optics, but be prepared to pay $150 to $200 for one.
Gorgeous. I wonder if you'd ever build an 11 foot model, which was the size of the underwater hero miniature in the film. Have it light up too.... then take it out to the lake and ram a ship model with it!
I actually have the parts for an 11ft Nautilus build, but I'm going to do that as a static build with a fully complete interior. It will be my retirement project waaaay in the future.
Apologies for taking so long to respond. I'm happy to say that I have released a massively upgraded kit of this model, available here: www.rc-submarine.com/product-page/disney-nautilus-kit-in-1-48-scale

Absolutely beautiful model. I do not see how anyone could make any negative comments. Keep up the good work. Thank you for sharing. Stan Baker
lovely model, thanks for sharing.

Black? Ooookaaaay, then. Feels more like someone didn't feel comfortable trying to replicate the Nautilus' typical rusted finish.

I'm buying one as soon as I have the money
April 2024 / Amazon has a 3D Nautilus that's about 36 inches - can you make any recommendations on the kit and or how to finish it out ?
I see a 12" model, but nothing 36" in length.
Look up ( Nautilus DIY model kit )

How can I get one
I want one!
I have a good question, is the sub from "Atlantis: The Lost Empire" made by anyone
That would be awesome. I remember that it looked like a fish.
Damn. That is a good question. 🤔🤔
That would be awsome, I believe its called the ulysses.
@@Wad3c it is, I looked earlier haha I meant to comment back, but there are model kits of it so I guess it would be possible to do an rc version.
@@fitzdizzel48 yeah I guess it would require someone skilled in 3d modelling to design it then 3d print it.
Очень круто...
I don't see this on the website.
Out of production for the time-being. Sorry.
