I must have seen this performance dozens and dozens of times. And I still tear up. It's absolutely magnificent. It's raw and it's real. One for the ages. You'll enjoy Paolo Nutini. He's a hidden gem from Scotland but genuinely a world-level talent.
Paolo is one of my all time favorites! I am American (Seattle) and had never ever heard of him like 10 years ago. But a barns n noble worker saw me listening to music and wanted to know if I needed help finding new music. Said “sure.”He asked who I liked and what I did. I said 90’s country like Clay Walker and Pop/Jazz/Funk like Jonny Lang. And I was a multi media production student at the time. and this dude said “You like Jason Mraz”? I said “YES and Jack Johnson!” He said “Great, you will LOVE Paolo Nutini, he is a down to earth country soul with unique musical interpretation that I think you’ll really love.” To this day I still have all the original cds! I adore this dude.
This was the promo tour 2007 for Paolo to show workers why his cds should be in their stores. ruclips.net/video/t26dUKU9Ns8/видео.html Safe to say it went well 😆
That was a unique moment that only comes once in a lifetime. This recording has everything , really everything you can express from the bottom of your soul . Unforgettable
Hey everybody..let's try and pinpoint the moment she falls in love with Paulo..😉💙 (I'm just kidding we all love this boy, he is incredible,) I have to tell you, I'm a full blown old school metal head.. And this is with no Shadow of a doubt in my top five songs EVER! Any genre of music, it's just perfection. I'm pretty sure Paulo has new music coming out soon.. Great reaction ma'am..🤟😎
This song always kills me to my core. It’s absolutely beautiful and beyond truth. It’s a message that the world needs to live. Never gets old. Thank you for your reaction video.
All of Paolo's live performances have an intensity to them. He is one of my all-time favorite singers. I heard a rumor that a new album is coming in 2022 *fingers crossed *
Paolo is a bit of a hidden gem, and his album 'Caustic Love' (from which Iron Sky is from) is worth a listen. It's soulful and sexy throughout, and downright fun to listen to. Lovely reaction; thanks for sharing, Sabina!
I loved that she said he delivered it with so much integrity. Exactly right! Paolo is such a rare talent - but he also seems humble and I love that about him. ❤❤❤
Brilliant live performance from my fellow Scot. He explains the meaning of the song in an interview on Radio New Zealand. A lot of people think it's to do with Scottish independence, maybe due to the timing. He says technology is taking over , machines replacing workers, if all the signals, tech, microwaves had colours the sky would be iron . Definitely a call to rise against the elite in the lyrics also , the Chaplin speech reinforces that. Like most good songs can be interpreted differently. Cool reaction
He may not have meant it at the time to be specifically about independence for Scotland but he supports independence and recently after performing this song at a concert in Glasgow he spoke of the right of Scotland to be independent. Also this song has been adopted by us who want independence as ours.
Sabina, why did we have to leave this song and come back to the real world? i was away there. It's lovely to see someone who reacts and feels as deeply as I do
This song helped me get through the pandemic, I love Paulo so much, he is a rare talent and `I am so glad he has come back, we have missed him so much.
It was reported that Adele was there that night at the studio to record her album and said she has never witnessed a greater live performance in her life ❤
I listen to this song often, but I've never seen live of it. It's amazing to see him go through the same emotions I go through whenever I'm really feeling this song
For me the best musician nowadays! Thank you for your reactions Sabina, for helping this guy to be notice by the people. He deserve this! Here, from Brazil!
This was used with a video for Independence in 2014, surprisingly on the BBC, true to form they hastily removed it... This song and performance resonate right through the Indy movement in Scotland... Free in 23 ;)
It has nothing to do with the Indy movement in Scotland…. If the Charlie Chaplin speech mid-song is anti dictatorship then it’s anti Sturgeon as she is a modern day dictator dressed up as a politician. The song has been explained by Paolo himself and the video is on YT. This is an amazing performance from an amazing singer/songwriter and the voice can cut right through you hitting every emotional sweet spot. I’m glad he has brought new music out in 2022. Great reaction as always👍
The Chaplin speech is still relevant today as it was then in this cost of “GREED” crisis not “living” with the oil/ energy companies making a killing while normal people are making the choice to heat or eat😢😢.
Oh I must add that,.the spoken part, is taken from the great dictator, a old film starring Charlie Chaplin.. In fact,.I maybe wrong, but it could be his first ever spoken film, after the silent movies.. But one of the most profound statement's ever made and more relevant today than ever.. Were not cattle we are men and women live your life and be free ..🙏🙏🙏
Listening to the lyrics, it’s clear that there is a lot more to this song than may be apparent. He’s suggesting, to me at least, hints of hopelessness, despair, violence. Is this an anti war or anti violence song? I see this song was re-released just after the Charlie Hebdo shootings in Paris..coincidence? I would not usually have associated a multi faceted song like this with Ntini..and I don’t say that disrespectfully. My wife purchased one of his albums some years back..can’t recall the name…it featured nothing like this fine song. I think Paolo Ntini can be ranked alongside the likes of Dylan, Zappa, Lennon and other thoughtful artists. Sabina…I think this is your best posting to date…thank you.
There was rumours that it had inspirations from the Scottish Independence Referendum, this was first released around the same time. Don't think it was ever confirmed or denied however.
@@nic_nac7608Given his Scottish roots, what you say is quite possible. I did some research into the song this afternoon, specifically interviews Paolo had given. Generally, he was very non comital under interview. Conclusion, happy to let people draw their own conclusions..#sittingonthefence
@@birminghamchris9377 that honestly doesn't surprise me given his reputation. I have never before commented on anyone's reaction video, but I want to do so here. First, why would I want to watch such a thing? It's a fair question, sometimes in this society, with all its various dysfunctions, I feel like we need others to tell us how we ought to feel and such videos can sometimes, cynically, occupy that space. Not so this one. So why I am watching it? Because sometimes you find something so authentic and moving that you wonder, no you hope that others will feel as you do. This song is very much like a cry from the wilderness, an anthem, and seeing if moves others as it does me is my motivation in being here. So why the comment? This is the first reaction video I have seen where the 'reactor' never once paused the video itself, she respected the artist throughout, adding her reactions in text in post-editing. I found that this added immensely to the shared experience. Sabrina just listened, as I did, and found in this tremendous piece of artistic conviction (conviction with a capital 'C') something close to what I did. Of course, I cannot know this for certain, we are locked into our subjectivity and this is our fate, but we may still try to reach out, to see each other, and it is good to be reminded that most of us still feel deeply when shown the truth of someone's soul, as this recording does here.
