Why I Shoot Instant Film Now (Fuji Instax Wide 300)

- Опубликовано: 4 окт 2024
- In this video I discussed why I shoot instant film now. I also, discussed in detail the technicalities of the instant camera I use. The instant film camera that I used is the Fuji Instax Wide 300 that I bought from BestBuy.
My first few rolls of instant film were shot to take portraits and still life photos. This shoot was very straightforward and indeed a very positive one! I thoroughly enjoyed shooting instant film because it provides the photos right away. This is also a good way to gauge how photos will look when shooting film in shoots.

Gez. Those first few shots of Burrows Ave. As soon as I saw it I knew it was my old hood. Nice vid.
Michael Jandavs Yeah haha. I was a little skeptical runnin around taking pics but it was okay. Thanks man!
Those are some beautiful photos.
Thankyou!
I shoot my RZ67 with FP100C .. the quality of the film is still unbelievable for me and totally worth the high price!
Edler Herren Club That was exactly the route I wanted to take prior having a 6x7 medium format camera and this instant camera. And still to this day thinking about owning an RZ for the sole purpose of having a polaroid film back haha. How many shots do you get with a pack of FP100C?
How do you get Fuji FP100C since they were discontinued few years ago. Fuji should definitely bring that film back.
Tareq Habib yeah thats what i know about the FP-100C too. And prolly the reason why I did not go for the RZ since it is already discontinued
Thank you for the inspiration. Love your work, especially the photo at 07:36
Bryan Bernart You’re welcome! And thankyou for the kind words! I’m glad I was able to spread inspiration⚡️
Wonderful colors!!!!!
So Soap Indeed! Really love it even more where there are lotsa greens as that’s where fuji holds its ground pretty well!

Great sound quality and a unique perspective. But I think you need to pop the battery cover off and have another look. You said “2 AA” in the vid and a comment below.
the_lomographer thankyou! I think it is 2 AA batteries. Haha. Was I wrong? Haha
Always fire videos my G 🔥
Kurt Albalos thanks a lot G! ♥️
Hey! Do you still shoot the Instax Wide 300? I started a few days ago and it´s a lot of fun!
Yes sir I still do! In fact, still enjoying mine since 2019! 😊
You should try the Lomo Automat and the lomo insta wide! they have more settings you can mess around with.
Ricardo Jose I actually found out about the lomo wide after getting the fuji. What size does the lomo automat print? Thanks for the recommendation!
@@erwnalejo If I recall correctly it shoots the mini sheets great for street photography~
Ricardo Jose I see thanks! I’ll be sure to check it out!
I want this camera so bad and I actually can buy it... but I was thinking on buying the mini 11 because the paper of this one is really expensive :(
I think it is more expensive due to the size of the images you get. Also I thnk the film used on both this camera and the mini 11 is the same only the sizes are different :)
I only wish it was or has a auto focus led on the viewfinder
how do u convert your shots to your phone?
Abby Dadoll I have a flatbed scanner which I use to scan the prints. It’s Epson V600. I actually talked about it in my other video: “how i scan film” if you wanna find out.
awesome video度的!!!!
great vid
Thanks🙏🏻
So the point of instant photography is that the photos have like a cool old timey filter to them?
GTA5Player1 Hmm they really does have this “old” look which also is a result of the lens (I believe). But in my opinion the point of instant photography is to take photos on film and get the results back right away since film photogrpahy undergo a series of development and scanning processes before seeing the results.
@@erwnalejo So the point of having this instead of a digital camera or a smartphone is that there is less processing with the photos?
cool!
Thankyou!
In natural daylight do you use the L setting or the D setting? I just got this camera a week ago but my pictures keep coming out either extremely dark or extremely light & idk how to fix it that :/
Arianna Bye Hi sorry to hear that! In natural daylight I just use it as it is. Even at times where there’s not enough light I don’t use L. And I just let the flash fire if the camera senses that there’s not enough light.
In natural daylight, if it is really bright, the brightest spots will become really dark or just black as that’s how the film is. I never use L or D as it renders the development badly and all my shots look better without any of D or L.
Also, it’s good to know that the film speed is 800 so it’s a faster speed which means do not use it in cases where the light is extremely bright. I shoot mine around sinset or sunrise when there’s enough light still but won’t trigger the flash automatically. Just keep practicing and you’ll eventually get somethng good!!
How to turn the photo into digital?
I did scan the images using the Epson V600 scanner. You can try using a regular scanner that comes with most printers. Though I have not personally tried that yet
hi, I wanted to ask you how you can take a picture of the photo of the instant camera photo? I mean, how do you make it look perfectly good? please someone explain to me :(
Emiliano García Hi! I thnk what you meant was how was I scanning the photos I shot on my instant film camera? If so, I scan them using a photo scanner and thats what creates the digital copy of the instant photos. Hope that helps!🤗
erwnalejo OMG but of course! as it could not happen to me before! Thank you very much, you're a genius. You don't believe I'm trying to know what the little trick is a long time ago!!!!!
Emiliano García haha that’s alright! It happens! You’re not the first person to ask as it turns out. And since many have asked about it (including yourself) I will probably make a video about it so people can see it!
erwnalejo thank u 🥺 happy new year!
Emiliano García hi! I just made a video about your question on scanning polaroids! Let me know if you have any questions!
Hi! I’m not sure which instant film cam to buy, at first I thought about the mini11 as it captures bright backgrounds even in dark scenes, also I don’t need to do any adjustments on it, but I kinda want a bigger film? So I’m wondering if this instax wide 300 does the same? I’m not sure either how to adjust the thing you do with the lens (I don’t know much about cameras 😐). With this said, should I go with the mini 11 or this wide 300? Just lookin for some insights, recommendations as I’m new to these things. 😅
In my opinion, go with the wide 300, it captures more of you and the background. The only con is that the film costs more than the instax mini’s.
Hi sorry for the super late reply! I am not entirely sure what the mini 11 is but I can say that I enjoy the instax wide 300. I love it since the photos that come of it are larger which I prefer personally. I have used the square and minis before but I just find them a little too small for my taste! Also, you cannot go wrong with the 300! Super love it!
Yep this is true! But the wide 300 is so much more fun to use nevertheless! :)
Micah Joy Vlogs I see, I noticed you shared a vlog about mini 11. So I guess the wide 300 is much better than the mini 11. Thank you for sharing your opinion 😄
Vanessa Galano Did I? Sorry I do not remember! But the 300 is just as nice since the photos you get are really big. I mean just comes down to what you prefer! Did you get the 300 yet?
So 3 to infinite is for farther away objects correct?
Danielle Martin What it means is anythng that you are trying to take a photo of that is 3 meters away or further (infinity) will be in focus.
erwnalejo okay that makes sense! Thank you so much.
how do you scan film from the wide 300?
abner I scan the photos using the epson v600 scanner.
Does this camera come with Film in the box?
lachlansayas It only comes with the camera and 2 batteries. You have to buy the film separate.
What do you use to scan your photos ?
Hi sorry for the late reply! I use an Epson V600 scanner to scan my photos!
Did you used the fujifilm instax wide to video around 4:03mins?
HYPE SCYTHE No I did not. All the video were shot with my sony A6300 or iPhone 6S plus. Also, the instax wide is a an instant film camera and it does not shoot video. Hope that helps!
HYPE SCYTHE Also regarding your question, the videon in 4:02 mins was shot with my iPhone 6s Plus.
do you recommend this camera for toys photography?
Dimas Sudewo Hmm this might not be the best camera for toys photography but I also don’t see why you cannot use it. It should be okay! What kind of photos you plan on taking?
@@erwnalejo i would like to bring my action figures for outdoor photography, so i can make natural scenes on the background. Just like GI Joe, Star Wars or another military action figures. And sometimes, i also taking pictures with diorama (indoor)
Dimas Sudewo ahh i see! That should work I think! Just make sure you have enough lighting if you don’t want the flash to fire.
@@erwnalejo is there any tricks to disable the flash of instax wide 300?
Dimas Sudewo there’s a button you can press to disable it but if the light meter of the camera senses that the light in the scene is low, it will fire the flash automatically regardless you turned it on or off.
What's the name of the instagram-guy? Cannot read it.
Claudia the guy’s name on instagram is Anojon.
@@erwnalejo Thanks!
