American Revolution is a sandbox strategy game featuring the epic historical period during the rebellion of the American colonies against the British Empire. Take on the role of the British or American Colonists, and fight for territorial control over North America. A gripping real-time campaign awaits you on a detailed 3d map where you can build your army and navy, construct military infrastructure, and fully command your armies on a regimental level. If you want even more action you can fully zoom-in and fight massive battles on a battalion level.
Fight in real-time on the global map with regiments and naval squadrons. Move your General to gain the tactical control of the situation in a minimal way. The presence of the General makes it possible to control the troops or ships directly on map, actively use maneuvers, cut supply routes, utilize different types of terrain and flank with cavalry. The battles can be fought with more detail and full tactical control by zooming-in further on the map.
If you choose to fight battles with full tactical control, the regiments become divided into smaller battalions allowing you the command of hundreds of units in real-time, creating a dazzling and realistic combat experience of the historical period. Troops are positioned in a landscape according to the placement they had on the map at the given time. Some will engage the enemy immediately, others can be re-positioned in deployment zones, while those which were further away may join later as reinforcements.
Realistic reconnaissance is simulated, making messages the basis of military intelligence and battle maneuvering. Messages can be delayed or be intercepted by the enemy, resulting in your orders not reaching your troops in time or rendering communication with your distant territories impossible.
    Army management
You have full control over your army's composition. Available recruits are determined based on your success in battle and the loyalty of the population. Use these recruits to create divisions, brigades, and regiments. Keep your soldiers alive and they will learn to fight better, turning them from green rookies into crack veterans. Take too many casualties and you might not have enough recruits to reinforce your units and win the next battle. Lose too many battles and the population's loyalty and army morale will drop and the war will be lost.
    Supply is essential
Three base supply items are needed for each unit: weapons, ammunition and food. Weapons and ammunition are provided by weapon factories. Weapons are received when a new unit is created and later these weapons can be replaced by better ones, according to availability. Ammunition consists of gunpowder, bullets and balls which are spent in battle and must be replenished for maintaining your army in a minimum fighting condition. It is also necessary to constantly supply your army with food, otherwise non-combat losses will grow and the morale of the soldiers will drop. The army can forage a territory for food but, in this case, the welfare of the region and the loyalty of population will deteriorate.
    Food & other Resources
Food is produced in agricultural facilities. The more food a region produces, the larger the army it can feed. To increase food production, it is necessary to raise the agricultural level of the region. Surplus food will be stored in warehouses or sent to other regions. Mineral resources are needed to produce weapons, ammunition, and ships. Each region has different resources that can be mined. To increase production, it is necessary to develop the level of mineral resource extraction in a region.
    Ammunition & weapon production
To produce weapons and ammunition, you must develop the military industry. The game has a simplified system, in which you need to build factories and shipyards. The factories are used for the production of small arms, guns, ammunition, and supply wagons. With the shipyards you build warships and supply ships.

Increase labor pool at a location (fort/town) by disbanding units in that location. Decrease the labor pool in the location by raising units at that location. This counts for companies as well. So disbanding a single company in a regiment in a location increases that location labor pool. I found this helpful when I encountered locations with a few hundred labor pool and very slow construction because of the small labor pool.

You should be building more merchant stalls. A merchant stall in Leicester would have brought in 148 income the last time you looked at setting one up, but you should check other towns and build in the most profitable ones first. If you want to build a tax office: Hartford is your highest income producing city; you should build one there.

Now that I know I am at least 7 days behind I will stop making suggestions, (maybe).
You REALLY need to build the Artillery Department ASAP
    You now need to
1.acquire a new General to start building a 3rd Army
    2. Build up Three 5,000 man armies with Brown Bess muskets, 6lb cannons/ 10" mortars, skirmishers with Hunting rifles, Calvary with Short Brown Bess or Carbines. Eventually you will need Five Armies
    3. build up your economy to support these armies
    4. build up your officer and specialists to lead these armies and run your economy
    5. Hold off building a Navy your fighting a land war and are outclassed and out numbered at sea
Love what you bring to the game!

At 23:41 you noted a different flag than you'd seen previously. Red & white stripes with the flag of Great Britain in the canton (top-left). There are two possibilities I've found for what this could be. The first is that this design was called the Grand Union flag, used as the de facto American flag until the stars & stripes pattern was adopted in 1777. That would be strange to see on a British/Canadian unit, as it should be YOUR battle flag at this time. The second option is that a nearly identical flag was used by the East India Company. The British Empire would use Indian troops for reinforcements in wars throughout the world, so it's not crazy to think they would do so in the defense of Canada at this time. To my knowledge, East Indian troops didn't take part in any fighting in North America, because the English & French were fighting in India throughout the Revolutionary War, but since the French haven't signed on with you yet, it's plausible.

The way units surrender or retreat at the end still seems messed up a bit. They can run away faster than you can catch them and switching back to main map they can just run away some more. I'd like to see them clean up some of the army movement, the way units surrender/retreat before finishing British campaign. Fix the stuff that isn't working well first. But good game so far.

I think the main map surrender mechanic is in some part to prevent a never ending game of whack a mole where utterly crippled units can never be finished off.

always loving it more please? I don't know if this is even relevant, but Uncle John was quite the character, ran the 'Rose and Crown' which was the Krays local, their Mum loved him, it was a proper pub that extremely violent men thought was well maintained? So they didn't see a need to change anything? Good news for Uncle John and his new family, two daughters. He offered me a Makarov for my 21 birthday but Dad came down in it, saying he (i) will make my own decisions and blow up only the people I want to? Fair comment but as I get older you have to realise your physical abilities will suffer? I am proper going mad that I am getting older, even if it's just another day? Just another one, then another one, they don't stop? Ok, once I was dangerous but now I have to think about it, experience is great but youth has advantages, Michael Cane in that movie, 'you failed to service your weapon son.' well, what can I say? I would much prefer if people didn't fear me but there's good reason for that, even if I was only looking out for my friends.

It seems between Episode 15 and 16 the battle outside Montreal got missed/skipped.

    • @thehistoricalgamer
      @thehistoricalgamer  14 дней назад

No there was no fight, the British withdrew immediately in that battle. Episode 16 has the battle of Montreal that would develop later.

@@thehistoricalgamer Then where did the munitions that are on the map at the beginning of Episode 16 come from? Because they weren't there at the end of Episode 15, and in this video you mention they came from a previous fight outside Montreal, but Episode 15 didn't show a fight outside Montreal. That's why I brought up the possibility that a fight may have been missed between the 2 episodes.
