Hello, Hello, Hello Jodi OMG, I’m a new subscriber, I actually found you yesterday and binged watched your whole series of decluttering videos. You my lovely, are a total breath of fresh air, when you opened that cardboard box filled with cardboard boxes I nearly spat my coffee everywhere and choked myself, it was so expected yet unexpected at the same time, hilarious. Keep it up, your doing so great. I think I’ve found another favourite RUclipsr ❤️❤️
Oh thank you Christine! I’m so happy you are enjoying my videos ❤️❤️ Yes worded perfectly. The box filled with more boxes was totally expected and unexpected all at once 😂😂😂
I'm coming along very late - but I can't help commenting that you grandma's photo is an emblem as one of the best reasons to declutter what isn't important. When we keep everything it becomes difficult to curate our items mindfully - like your lovely wedding book being popped in with other things - those items which mean so much have the right to be kept carefully and with respect. I think the job you've been doing has been amazing and I have to agree with the commenters who were in awe of your decisiveness - you are (were!) kicking this task in the butt! I going through a big day of getting things done and I'm allowing myself to rest between tasks by watching your videos and they are keeping me so motivated - thank you😊
The basement decluttering has probably been my favorite so far. Our basement and garage are the worst so it’s so satisfying to see it can be decluttered.
..paused.. "Here's what I have in recycling so far....." (..camera pans to show 322 flattened boxes, stuffed inside more boxes!!! Tears..hahahaaa...omgee....) Jodi you are a HOOT~!! ....and a Mighty Fine De-Clutterer!! Thank You for keepin' it real and Inspiring ~
The compulsive part of me says to move the bins and paint cans from the back wall and fill it with the coupon stuff from the other shelves. They seem to be shorter spaces anyway but also imagine opening the door to the basement and ahhhh, ( cue angels singing) The ENTIRE wall completely filled with your glorious stockpile!!!!!!🤣😅😂
I just watched an “influencer” video the other day on how to declutter . Can I just tell you I have received more inspiration from watching you than all the “influencers “ put together! You go girl! You are the. Real thing not so someone
I’m a new subscriber binge watching your decluttering & organizing videos. You’re really inspiring me big time. You remind me of myself when you talk about your husband putting all those boxes in the basement. My husband complains about all our clutter & “stuff” but when I try to start decluttering he gets upset with me getting rid of things that we no longer even use or need. I’m 72 so we have plenty to declutter if I could just get him on board. I still try & you have really motivated me.
Linda I feel your pain. Some things I started doing were just my things like my closet. Then he didn’t like his his looked so he did his 😂 And some things I just do when he’s not around.
Hi Jodi. Great job. You are right everybody has certain thing they want to keep. So glad you found picture of your grandmother. I got a picture of my grandmother and grandfather that was taken in the 30's. Never meet my grandfather, but my grandmother was a hard working strong women.
Just found you and you have inspired me to finally go down to the basement and declutter (just put blinders on to do the laundry!). I love that you say I don't have to get rid of everything, if it means something I can keep it. My friends who were helping me move four years ago, told me to just toss, but I was rushing to move and didn't want to spend the time as I was stressed enough. Now after two floods in the basement it's a need (but still procrastinating somewhat, LOL) but now its happening one box at a time. I feel for you with the TV, I have a large one that recently died but it weighs well over a hundred pounds and I can't move it, will have to save money to get someone to take it out for me!
Marie Kondo says to leave sentimental stuff until the very end. When you get to a box/tote of sentimental stuff leave it, and keep going. It has helped me so much to follow this method. =) The boxes, and your hubby, makes me laugh!! Too funny and totally relatable.
For real though, on the keeping stuff you haven't used. I watch Hoarder's Heart, and it hits her at different points when to finally ditch something. I know if I had my own house, I'd have a bunch of awesome stuff. Being forced to move so often has me down to almost the bare minimum. People are so strange when it comes to listening to others who are doing the trends. I've got stuff I regret getting rid of that was irreplaceable. I'm not about to listen to a stranger with an ugly, en vogue home! A grain of salt, people! So much respect to you Jodi :)
OMG I have a teal stained glass votive holder in our down stairs bathroom from Party Light! It's probably 20 years old now. I do try and follow the "If you haven't used it in xx months, it's gotta go" But we're in a pandemic? We've been in lockdowns off and on?? Things are crazy right now?? I also have 2 big plastic boxes in the garage for my sentimental stuff. And as long as all the sentimental stuff fits, I don't worry about it! Keep your Party Lights, Jodi!
Thanks so much for this series. My basement is a mess so this Saturday I plan go block off 3 hours and do as much as I can in my basement and then save the rest for another week. I plan to call someone to haul the big old tvs and other large items away taking up 70% of space.
I want to thank you for being so honest. I have loads of clutter but suffer from Chronic Fatigue so starting clearing has seemed beyond me. However you show the mess, warts and all, and explain that you clear in small amounts to get it cleared. I'm starting today, I feel it's alright now to say 'ok I've had enough for today' without feeling a failure. Thank you once again and keep on with the videos - they are inspiring!
Gillian yes. Never be afraid to stop when you are tired!! It might take longer the way I do it but it’s way more enjoyable and manageable ❤️❤️ Cheering you on 👏👏👏👏
Late getting to your videos. I LOVE LOVE LOVE your insight with declutter. I've got a few things that I do not wear, but they are sentimental to me. My husband is military and we lived all over. Thus I have military base shirts that coincide with where he worked at that moment. I can't wear them anymore, but I see them as I clean and grab for things. Got my dad's shirts that I cannot wear as they do not look right on me. But he passed quicky and it's a nice memorial for me to see. ❤️❤️. Basement and coupon stockpile looks fab!!!
Omg...you are a super star. What an amazing transformation. Give yourself some grace. You'll get it done when you're supposed to. You are such an inspiration! Hugs my beautiful friend!
Jodi, I’m so happy for you that you found the treasured picture of you and your grandma. I was very close to mine also, and I lost her last year. So I couldn’t help but cry tears of joy for you when you spoke so sweetly about your bond and how much finding the picture meant to you. 💕 Congratulations to the other Gina that won the gift card. What a great name you have. 😀 For a brief second I thought maybe I’d won, and I got way more excited than I should have. 🤦♀️ I also laughed when you spoke about getting busted by your husband with the recycling. Too funny 😂
Thank you Gina. It truly made 2 weeks of work one million percent worth it. Of course having the open and organized space is wonderful but finding that picture was worth everything to me! Maybe next giveaway 🥰🥰
I so agree about giving yourself permission to keep stuff if you have the room. I used to sell Partylite candles too and love them and still order them today and I just rotate my holders out. If they give you good memories then I say keep them. Love how your basement turned out.
Great work!!! No need to keep the dinosaur tv; you can connect the vcr to your current tv. Get rid of it while they still accept it. Technology moves so fast. Excited to see the rest of the basement!
Omg Jodi - I'm just so happy for you, that you found those pictures ❤️ I'm sure your grand mother was with you in that basement and said Jodi you need a break before you found those pictures. It's also a reminder that she is with you guys and she knows what happens in you and your girls life. She can def feel you and your daughter's love ❤️ Something is telling me, she is sitting with Gus and looking down and feel your love and be so proud of you and your fantastic family ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Watched while my daughter was in dance and didn't have time to comment. Thankfully the lobby is closed and moms stay in their cars because I didn't anticipate crying my eyeballs out. 😭 I felt all those emotions as you were speaking. My grandparents adopted and raised me so I got the blessing of having them as parents and grandparents. You amaze me with everything you manage! I am a Christmas hoarder 🤭 I won't ever get rid of a single piece and want to start collecting those Christmas villages. Also, I have two LARGE totes full of beanie babies. Some are very rare limited edition collections that I paid a couple hundred dollars for when they came out in the early 00's. 😂
Awesome job …I loved the before and after and the idea of sometimes just started with rubbish is a great tip…but I loved your stories more…you winning the money and you finding those photos 👏🏻👏🏻❤️❤️❤️🥰🙋🏻♀️🇬🇧💕jane
Overjoyed for a new video! I had a little accident Sunday night and scratched my cornea pretty good 😭😭 It's a little better today, so I'm using my good eye to watch this lol 😂❤️
Oh no Katie!!! That has to be very painful. I’m sending you all the healing vibes and prayers 🙏🙏 And lord knows I talk enough so you can always just listen if it hurts to look 😂
Hi my dear Jody. I'm so freaking proud of you for this great decluttering. I just did my small laundry & kitchen and it was extremely tiring, mentally difficult, because it isn't easy to let go of certain things, but when you started to make progress you feel better, but when you're done and realize how strong we are and how good everything looks IS ALL WORTH IT ! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ PLEASE say hi to handsome Gus. God bless you 🙏 ❤️
Omg, you are doing fantastic. My husband just takes big piles of cardboard and other rubbish to the local recycling centre, he knows some of the people there by name. Lol.
Home Interior groupee here,Lol. Those days were so much fun. And like you, I still have items i want, but their boxed. Im a couple years late, its late,I can't sleep😂
Okay Jodi, it might be the pregnancy hormones or the fact that I lost my grandmother last year, but here I am crying a river hearing you speak of your grandmother and her teaching you to be an awesome grandma yourself ♥️♥️♥️
Oh Jodi, how absolutely wonderful everything looks in your basement.. Sooooo excited and proud for you.. You are a doll.... So glad you found your Grams picture.. Touched me.. 👼👼💜
I’m newer here! I’ve been playing catch up watching all your decluttering videos every night…holy motivating!! I’m so impressed by you! Incredibly sad that I actually have to wait for a new video 🤣🤣 keep going!!
Oh Jodi!! I started crying when you shared your feelings on your grandmother... I miss my grandmother sooooooo much ...so I can definitely relate....I'm so glad you found the picture!! Great video...thank you for sharing
Jodi Dunn, that looks amazing!! Your progression is mind-blowing and so motivating. I can't wait to see the pictures of it without all of the donations out. It's understandable that you are needing to look at another area. When you go down to get product you can always see if a donation item jumps out at you. It's easy enough to grab something and head back upstairs with it to a box or your car. If nothing pops out, that's OK too. You'll keep going down there and your mind will adjust to things so they don't seem to have such a hold. I wish I could give you a hug right now because you really deserve a big celebratory hug for doing so dang well! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Oh Robyn thank you!!! So very kind of you and so so appreciated ❤️❤️❤️ You are so right. Perspective changes and now that I’ve done my first pass each time will be easier.
Hello, thanks a lot for your videos! I like it much better with your voice only and no music. Thanks again and lots of support in the process from France!
You had me crying when you were talking about your grandparents and what Gracyn said about you as a grandma 😭 So very true. And what an amazing job you did with that basement Jodi!!! 😍❤️☀️
Shine it was so hard even do that voice over. I was trying so hard not to cry but I couldn’t hold it in. What Gracyn said to me was the sweetest thing ever ❤️ And I am truly so blessed to have had the most amazing grandparents!
@@jodidunnmymessylife1847 I know it and a great friend 😉 once told me that it’s ok to cry and let it out. Sometimes we just need to release our emotion in the moment 🙏❤️
Jodi your basement is looking fantastic. Love your stockpile. I'm so happy you found your grandmother's pic. She & Gus are watching 👀 over you & your beautiful family 👪
I am new. I am trying to declutter also. Sometimes it gets overwhelming. I am doing as you are. Alittle at a time. Omg.... Boxes are Soo my problem😁 I am so happy to watch you. This gives me hope. Thank you!!!
Hi Jodi! I'm new :) I love your sense of humour about the decluttering, haha! I've been at it for about 5-6 years and I'm now in the maintenance stage, content with the amount of stuff in my home. I actually learned to LOVE decluttering and I am now enjoying decluttering through channels like yours :) keep up the good work!!!
Hello Mrs Jodi I'm a long time veiwer of your channel and I LOVE your decluttering just a suggestion about your old TV you should have one corner thats a throwback corner with the beanie babies, vcr,TV,table and chairs, ect because that's memorable items but love how you declutters
OMG Jodi, I have to say what a blessing you are. Sharing as open & honestly as you do is so encouraging to me. When you shared about your grandparents I was chocking right up. So good that you found that picture 🥰 Also I was a Partylite addict in the 80-90’s , so seeing those boxes really brought me a smile. I still use many of those pieces in my home today. Thanks for the great content 👍
Jodie, you did wickedly well!! I remember the breastfeeding and many years of no sleep! Ect....Look at what you got OUT! I am glad you are standing up for your self, on the getting rid of the recycle/ stuff you want! You are only trying to better your life! I want your Hubby to value your needs, more than the needs of the recycle/ garbadge truck workers. I am like you, we want it gone! Not straggling, (snail) pace. Too bad you knew of a gal /guy, that you could ring up and help you lug out those heavy pieces. Eventually. I am anxious for you, thats all. REST now! Thanks for sharing your process and progress!☺
That was unbelievable. You did a wonderful job in two weeks. The chunks of time is definitely the way to go. Delighted you found the precious picture with your gran. Yes the sentimental stuff is tough but as my nanny (dads Mam) used to always say ‘it’s important to wash out your eyes’ and a cry is good for the soul too. The charity shop must love to see you coming every week with wonderful treasures. Stay safe and healthy. Mary, Joes wife 👏👍💐
Wow! Just amazing! I was laughing that you had a movie bucket from the Twilight Saga. Also I was like omg you have PayDay! Love that game. I can not wait to have the space you do so I can coupon even more like you, what a great stock!
@@jodidunnmymessylife1847 I am a huge James Patterson fan. Twilight was the first series I read outside of his work. I have the new one I got it when it released last year. I am set to read it probably as my March pick.
Cleaning your plate- line a deep bowl with aluminum foil. Use 1 tbsp baking soda, 1 tbsp salt, and 1/2 cup of white vinegar. Sit it in there and cover with boiling hot water. Will clean it all off! Just wipe the rest 🤩
Wow Jodi! You are seriously crushing this basement declutter,so much progress! Also find myself admiring your stockpile non stop lol! Also so glad you found those pics esp one of your favorite pictures with your grandma.❤️Have a wonderful rest of the week!
This was so helpful. You motivated me to get those cardboard boxes I've been saving off to recycling! I love the reminiscing about Party Light! I still think Colonial Candles of Cape Cod are the best!
Hi there! I’m a new subscriber and I just want to say thank you so much for these videos! You have inspired me to tackle my crazy basement. We moved into my in-laws house last year and still have some boxes in the basement and of course my kids are growing so I have a crib and baby swing and baby clothes ugh 🙃I have so much to de clutter!! So thank you 🙏 for the inspiration and you did such and amazing job! I am over here taking notes!! 🤓✍🏼
oh em gee Jodi, I always say play a bit of Tetris...when organizing... I also buy clear boxes, so even if they are labelled, still can also see whats in it!! Toothpaste works well on getting rid of tarnish LOL
There’s a place near us (also MIchigan) called GFL Environmental that I drive my large amounts of recycling to. They have bins where you can drop off large amounts of cardboard because I also feel bad when I leave so much for the recycling guys. 😀 I treat it like the Goodwill or shelters where I take my stuff the day that I’m decluttering and it makes my space feel so much better.
Just subscribed. Love your stories about your three kiddos. I was the third (1950,52,53) so if I even find a photo I'm in, my two older sisters are there, too!
Awe Melissa!! You and me both. My grandmother was like a second mom to me and losing her was the hardest!! And I can already tell your granddaughters will feel the same about as you did with your grandma ❤️❤️❤️ All the love and hugs to you 🤗
Awesome sauce!! Third time is a charm,?! One more time and this awesome project will be checked off your list!! 😳🎊🎉💯🙌🔥 Oh yeah, went to many many home interior and party light parties with coworkers in the early-mid 90's!! Dont have much left over; in fact lost one treasure in one my move in KS; went to pantry in Iowa and found same exact item!! #overjoyed!! ❤❤❤
You have done such a great job in the basement! It looks fantastic! I remember party lite! With your personality, I bet those parties were so much fun. I'm so glad you won that $5,000! I'm also so glad you found those pictures, such sweet memories! Telling us about your husband had me cracking up. As always, thanks for sharing all of this with us. It's definitely inspiring. Can't wait for next weeks video and congrats to the gift card winner!! My comments are always all over the place, but always so much to say about each part, if that makes sense. lol Oh yeah, have you seen that beanie baby documentary? I think it's called Beanie Mania. I watched it a few weeks a go.
My daughter sold Party Lite & when I saw your boxes, I had to smile! Everyone has to set their own perimeter of how much to keep & when to let go. I sing to myself, know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em...as I declutter. I do understand not remembering when kiddos are babies. Twins were easier!

Hi. I love your advice about cleaning and decluttering in chunks. My daughter love to watch decluttering videos. She showed me yours.
Hi Jolene 🤗
So happy you are here. Yes decluttering in chunks of time works way better for me. I know it’s not for everyone but give it a try ❤️
I love that you get stuff to the donation center and to Kroger right away! I have to get better at that!
Liisa it helps me so much to get the stuff out quick ❤️
Awe!! You are the best story teller! Your voice-overs are amazing! You make me laugh, you make me cry. You amaze me!
Awe thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️
OMG! I have the Beanie Babies and I JUST CAN NOT GIVE THEM AWAY 🤣🤣🤣I love them so much🤣🤣🤣
Keep them all!!! I took my failed attempt to sell them as my sign to keep them 😂

Oh boy, am I ever dreading cleaning my basement…but I’ve got the whole upstairs decluttered so I’m getting there! Thanks for the motivation!
Lisa the whole upstairs done!! That’s incredible 👏👏👏👏
Omg Home Interiors, Princess House, and Party Lite. I remember them all and still have a few pieces that I still use😉
Yes!! I loved going to those parties ❤️
Home Interior groupee here,Lol. Those days were so much fun. And like you, I still have items i want, but their boxed. Im a couple years late, its late,I can't sleep😂
You and your husband are hilarious with the recycling stuff
It’s a battle Kavita 😂
Okay Jodi, it might be the pregnancy hormones or the fact that I lost my grandmother last year, but here I am crying a river hearing you speak of your grandmother and her teaching you to be an awesome grandma yourself ♥️♥️♥️
Awe Erica!!! I’m so so sorry for your loss. Grandparents are just such a special gift ❤️
Oh Jodi, how absolutely wonderful everything looks in your basement..
Sooooo excited and proud for you..
You are a doll....
So glad you found your Grams picture..
Touched me..
👼👼💜
Thank you Vicki! So so happy I found that picture ❤️❤️❤️
Best bin advice: Choose only see thru ones. Label them, too, but being able to sneak a peek is so helpful.
I’m newer here! I’ve been playing catch up watching all your decluttering videos every night…holy motivating!! I’m so impressed by you! Incredibly sad that I actually have to wait for a new video 🤣🤣 keep going!!
Hi Sara 🤗
So happy you’ve been enjoying my videos. Thank you so much ❤️
You could make gift basket s with cleaning supplies for gifts during the year !
Oh Jodi!! I started crying when you shared your feelings on your grandmother... I miss my grandmother sooooooo much ...so I can definitely relate....I'm so glad you found the picture!! Great video...thank you for sharing
Oh Cynthia I know it’s so so hard!! Sending you really big hugs 🤗🤗
So very kind of you and so so appreciated ❤️❤️❤️
You are so right. Perspective changes and now that I’ve done my first pass each time will be easier.
Hello, thanks a lot for your videos! I like it much better with your voice only and no music. Thanks again and lots of support in the process from France!
Thanh you Marie ❤️
Another job well done.
So excited for the next installment! Fixing to watch!
What Gracyn said to me was the sweetest thing ever ❤️
And I am truly so blessed to have had the most amazing grandparents!
@@jodidunnmymessylife1847 I know it and a great friend 😉 once told me that it’s ok to cry and let it out. Sometimes we just need to release our emotion in the moment 🙏❤️
Wow! What a difference with all your hard work.
❤️❤️❤️
Oh my you had my tears flowing thinking of my parents and grandparents. Good job getting through it. Glad you found your pictures.
Thank you Mindy! And sending you big hugs 🤗🤗🤗
I bought myself a set pf partylite candle holders years ago and they still sit on my coffee table years later, their products are beautiful!
Yes they sure are ❤️
Jodi your basement is looking fantastic. Love your stockpile. I'm so happy you found your grandmother's pic. She & Gus are watching 👀 over you & your beautiful family 👪
Thank you so much Cynthia 🤗🤗🤗
OMG! I remember Party Lite!! I had bunco's and accumulated so much of it! Lol.
Omg I just decluttered all my old party light candles I bought like 15 years ago. Never even used most of them.
I am new. I am trying to declutter also. Sometimes it gets overwhelming. I am doing as you are. Alittle at a time. Omg.... Boxes are Soo my problem😁 I am so happy to watch you. This gives me hope. Thank you!!!
Yes a little at a time makes a big difference Dossie ❤️
When the free prints come at wags get one of Donna Jean each time !!!
Ps im so happy you found your Grammoms picture.
Thank you Sarah 🤗
Congratulations on getting to maintenance mode!! That is fantastic 🥰👏
Aw, I started going thru old cards and photos. It's hard to see pictures of family members that have passed away. I love watching your videos!
Rebecca it is but also wonderful at the same time ❤️
I love your method of decluttering. I am going to use your way of doing I just go and go until I’m just dragging.
❤️❤️
Thank you MaryAnn ❤️❤️
So very sweet of you!
Great progress! Love it! 😃😃😃😃
Wow! Just amazing! I was laughing that you had a movie bucket from the Twilight Saga. Also I was like omg you have PayDay! Love that game. I can not wait to have the space you do so I can coupon even more like you, what a great stock!
Gracyn and I watched every twilight movie! Plus I read all the books. I loved them and it was something we enjoyed together ❤️
@@jodidunnmymessylife1847 I am a huge James Patterson fan. Twilight was the first series I read outside of his work. I have the new one I got it when it released last year. I am set to read it probably as my March pick.
Great job love that stockpile! 👏 😊
Oh my goodness! It looks amazing!
I love the two small stacked tables at minute 28:10... They are divine!
Good job friend! I'm so happy for you!
Wow!!!! Awesome job. Things are looking good. Can't wait for your next declutter. You are so much fun to listen too. Keep up the good work. Love ya
Thank you so much Nancy ❤️
oh em gee Jodi,
I always say play a bit of Tetris...when organizing...
Oh that’s awesome Kimberly!!
Very awesome work.
Just subscribed. Love your stories about your three kiddos. I was the third (1950,52,53) so if I even find a photo I'm in, my two older sisters are there, too!
Awe Brenda. I’m glad I’m not the only one 😂
I laughed, I cried, and I really enjoyed this decluttering episode!!!
Looks good! Love your laundry and cleaning surplus.
Thank you Carmen ❤️
Girl, you have me crying 😢 😭. My grandma meant the world to me too. I pray my granddaughters love me the same too. Great job with that basement ❤
Awe Melissa!! You and me both. My grandmother was like a second mom to me and losing her was the hardest!!
And I can already tell your granddaughters will feel the same about as you did with your grandma ❤️❤️❤️
All the love and hugs to you 🤗
Awesome sauce!! Third time is a charm,?! One more time and this awesome project will be checked off your list!! 😳🎊🎉💯🙌🔥
Oh yeah, went to many many home interior and party light parties with coworkers in the early-mid 90's!! Dont have much left over; in fact lost one treasure in one my move in KS; went to pantry in Iowa and found same exact item!! #overjoyed!! ❤❤❤
Oh Lee I’m so glad you found the one you loved ❤️❤️
Excited for more!
Love the bronners bag you went through ❤ i love that store
Wow that was a massive decluttering. Your amazing on what you had to go thru memory lane.
Oh how I wish I had the wooden shelves. They are GREAT😊. Home Interior, and Tupperware home parties, I used to hold Tupperware parties.
Wow Jodi, fantastic!!!! Well done!!! X
😂🤣 I helped my mom clean and declutter her apartment….. It was hilarious that I kept finding boxes filled with empty boxes and bags full of bags.
Oh my gosh Marisa 🤣
Hello from Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. I love those party lights 😍 those would match perfectly with my new living room decorations. Great job 👍
Yes aren’t they so pretty ❤️
I just joined your channel. Thoroughly enjoyed your video. Your laugh is infectious.
Hi Chris 🤗 thanks for being here ❤️
My daughter sold Party Lite & when I saw your boxes, I had to smile! Everyone has to set their own perimeter of how much to keep & when to let go. I sing to myself, know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em...as I declutter. I do understand not remembering when kiddos are babies. Twins were easier!
