I actually fixed my packet loss thanks to this video, I showed evidence to the tech of packet loss and I was lucky enough that he really cared about it, he went to my neighborhood box and told me that he moved me from an old connector that was having issues to a new one and told me to reset the modem, after that no more packet loss, $100 dollars deserved.
I've been dealing with this same issue for close to 7 years. Paying for 150 mbps down/8 up, and getting 3.5 mbps down/4.5 up, 10-100% packet loss, via Suddenlink. Filed a complaint with the FCC two days ago. Hopefully I get the same results as you. Thanks for making the video.
Update. Once I jumped through all of Cox communications hoops. They are giving me an 80% discount until their node split in July ANNNND this is back paid through the day I started the ticket. Which is about 6 months ago. Reason it’s taking so long is construction permits in my city. Which is understandable during rona BS. I can’t tell how thankful I am. you are directly the reason I’ll be paying an 80% discount on my internet plan well into the end of this year. Bruh. They REALLLY don’t like the FCC complaint comments. You could probably just skip through all of it and threaten them with it immediately if you’re ok with being a complete arsehole to the customer reps lol. But they don’t deserve it. The company does. I play video games a lot and I take them very competitively, as I like to be the best at every game I play which includes playing tournaments and trying to win money. Any I joined the AirForce earlier this year and I’m now stationed and live on a small base in Texas. They unfortunately only offer one ISP here called Suddenlink communications and they are TERRIBLE. I get all the same issues you were having and more! From packet loss to ping spikes and just flat out cutting out constantly. Anyway just like you I’ve tried everything on my end from VPN’s to paying almost $1000 on a new router and modem to getting new cables and also having many technicians and making many trouble shooting phone calls and nothing is working. It has helped some but not nearly enough. Anyway I have yet like my 5th technician in 3 months come out tomorrow and I will definitely be using the advice and steps you have provided in this video. Just sucks that I’m in this position and I have no other options because I’m in the military.

But it literally happens every day when I'm gaming. Crazy thing is, there will be certain periods with ZERO problems. I once had a full 2 months of ZERO packet loss. Now it's back again and I just don't get it.

Hey guys if you run out of options for packet loss fixes and you are on pc just update your network drivers and see how it turns out.It fixed the problem for me
You guys could break that neighborhood box in the middle of the night that way everyone calls because the internet is down. They would have to replace the box with a New box thus eliminating packet loss. You guys are very fucking welcome. This method is much faster than calling and getting the run around that everything is fine.
We would have good Internet in America if there weren’t laws restricting where ISPs can provide service. The big cable companies have a stranglehold on the market. I can’t think of any other market where so few companies have total control and agree not to compete.
Im currently on year 4, spectrum business internet for 200 a month... just now figuring this all out. Got tech her legit today 3 hours ago, was here for 40 mins, confirmed packet loss, and ping jitter. 20 mins later a truck was outside my house working on. Line. Kept loosing internet, now i see they working their way down the street. Randomly still loosing internet. Tech said everything should be perfect and fixed, usually after 74 hours max. I am praying they are fixing the issue as they go down the line. Cause as of now. Fucking hell!!!
Yeah he's got a point I had problems with my internet off and on for a long time and it took me to complain to the FCC for them to come out and do something so complain to him make them document everything and show them you do a packet of a pain test and show them that you have packet loss show it to them have them documented and then you go to the FCC if they continue not to fix the problem you make a complaint to them on your your internet provider and they will make them go and fix it only way to do it buddy
Hey I am on AT&T fiber (1000 Gigabits) but still experience packet loss issues. My pathping reflects the same thing. AT&T cannot seem to comprehend the service issue - everything looks "good" on their end.
It shouldn't cost anything. Your ISP should do it for free once they confirm your connection needs it. Getting them to confirm your connection needs a node split is the hard part though which my video explains.

The longer an ethernet cable is, the more likely it is to have problems. Before going through all of this hassle, just try getting a shorter ethernet cable.

Cox is awful. I have been stuck with them for 20 years, and I have major internet problems 2-3 times every year that takes multiple tech visits before they actually fix the problem each time. Even when you come at them with reliable info on packet loss and confirm that all of your equipment is working properly, they drag their feet. You really have to pester the hell out of them before they finally do their job. They price gouge the hell out of you too. I am paying over $350 a month for a phone line, cable TV with only 1 or 2 premium channels, and 150 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds for my internet. And yet their service is absolute shit. It's insane. The monopolies in this country need to die.
It took the FFC 18 days to respond to my original email. This is what I said in my email to the FCC: I have had Packet loss on my internet line ever since I started service with Cox about a year ago. They have never fixed this issue, even after following all the instructions they gave me (change modem to Cox modem; had multiple technicians come out and verify connection was fine).

no, internet is on a shared line, that line is connected to a tap/node that splits that internet connection with your whole neighborhood, so splitting nodes would increase upstream bandwidth by removing stress off the original
Basically, instead of having 30 houses on a single internet line all competing for the same bandwidth, you add in another line. This means 15 houses on each line, instead of 30. In theory, this makes internet better for everyone.

I was located in Scottsdale Arizona when I had this issue. I since moved to Mesa Arizona and don't have this problem at this new location.
