I seriously considered a RSI Smartcap for my 2016 Colorado. I ended up going with the RLD Designs stainless steel canopy. In hind sight, I wish I would have gone with the RSI Smartcap. The RLD experience was not too good for me. I also heard the RSI caps are going to be made here in the USA.
I didn't see any lock washers included and I have watched videos of these caps that have had the bolts rattle loose, I would definitely use some lock washers and locktite during assembly.
@@northridgenation I went with the EVO Sport on the Gladiator. Initially I wanted the Adventure, but due to availability I ended up with the Sport. All said and done, I’m glad I ended up with the sport.
Sorry but looks like you guys put the fastener in wrong direction for the front and rear. aren't the the bolt head suppose to be showing inward so that it's easier to tighten? looks like you have it backwards in the front and as for the rear you have some reversed and some in correct position
There is no right or wrong on the fastener direction. Yes, it would've been easier to reverse the fasteners, but this way you see the RSI logo, not the nut and washer when looking into the cap.
@@northridgenation The rear hatch; I want to know of my ARB Zero 73 fridge will slide out with a decked drawer system and a clearview drop slide; thanks!
No, you do not need them. Though they are handy to have to help tie things down. They come separately: www.northridge4x4.com/part/complete-racks/4831010-teraflex-uinta-cargo-bed-rail-system-w-tie-down-anchors
The GFC Topper is made out of aluminum, while the RSI SmartCap EVOa is stainless steel. Both are the same price. GFC weighs 135 lbs & the SmartCap weighs 165 lbs. (JT bed size.) Both do very similar things, comes down to personal preference and your vehicle specs.
Dang, we just had a dozen of the Sport caps in stock about two weeks ago. RSi says their Texas plant is getting real close to coming online, hopefully that means wait times will be a lot shorter.
That rail system is the TeraFlex Uinta bed rail system and it works great in combination with the Smartcap. Loctite is a good idea and then you wouldn't need lock washers.
That looks really sharp!
Got one, love it!
Which model did you go with?
@@northridgenation I went with the EVO Sport on the Gladiator. Initially I wanted the Adventure, but due to availability I ended up with the Sport. All said and done, I’m glad I ended up with the sport.
It looks really good, like it was made by Jeep for the gladiator. And i like how strong it is and it's features. I wonder how much weight it adds?
Right about 170lbs depending on model and options.
so looks like it is fairy easy to assemble this by your self
Yes, very easy.
Great video, but how exactly do you install the bin and Kitchen? Do I need to take the cap off the Jeep or can I install while it is on the Jeep?
You can install add-ons like the kitchen system while the cap is on the Jeep!

Not sure. We look into it.
@@northridgenation Awesome thanks!
Would this look good on a soft top willys gladiator? Or will a soft top version be better?
People have used the RSI Smart Cap on soft top JTs and they look pretty good. Do a quick google search for gladiator soft top rsi smart cap.
I wonder if one of these can be used with a topper ez lift
They mount just like a regular canopy, so it should.
Hey there, thanks for the video. Did you just not show putting the seals between the roof, side and end panels? Or are the pre installed now? Thx
Ours came pre-installed. We only needed to install the bottom-to-bed rail seal.

The pass through window or the rear hatch?
