Fired for what, it's not big deal for Russia considering their style of play, poor defence n lack of some best players. Martin's contract still in place despite their defeat, same thing happen to Trefilov, when Russia always lost in quarterfinal finals since 2013 to 2015, until they won Olympic title in Rio, 2016.

@@x24ygu789h That might be the case but it’ll be more exciting to see the ‘underdogs’ play the finals, at least in my opinion, and I would also like to point out even the best teams can be beaten on a bad day:)

@@x24ygu789h That’s fine, you’re entitled to your opinion as well as I’m entitled to mine. Overall, it’s four great teams who’s fought hard to reach the semifinals.
Also a side note, in comparison to Norway and even France, the Danes are considered to be the ‘underdogs’ in women handball, yes :)

Russia need better coach, Martin Ambros is bad coach, he don't know how to use Russian players, Sabirova, Gorshenina and Ilina should play much more, and worst thing he do is not calling Kuznetsova.
The loss of Anna Sen and Anna Vjakhireva in this tournament was costly. Daria Dmitrieva was the only reason that Russia could stay in the match against Denmark. If Vjakhireva wasn’t injured, she could have hurt the Danish team and the Russians could have won.
Maybe Trefilov should get back to coaching the Russian team? 🤠
Kutnetzova is injured, Martin have to adapted with his new lines up mostly filled by CSKA's players with their playing style. Also goalkeeping is not so efficient like they did in WC last year.
The russian team has played really well with mostly "new" players on the field. You win some and you lose some , but they have presented a really strong team this year also.
@@toniareeves4058 Without their favorite stars, a team should still be able to win. Handball is a team sport and not a individuel sport so regardless they should have been in the race for the medals.
@@escbrunette Russia was unlucky to be in Group l. Had they been in Group ll, I think they would have made it given how underwhelming most of the teams were aside from Norway and Croatia.
