What's going on here, no make up, no drum machine, no computers. Just talent and the ability to make great music, I heard a snippet on the radio and had to hear a lot more.
@@michaelolvera7490 I'm a guitar player too. I was born in the 80s and my Dad raised me on southern rock, it's my favorite genre of music. It's just my opinion that it could be country rock because it's rock music based off country like lyrics. Blackberry Smoke is my favorite band ( since 2008) and you can't say they don't have a country vibe to a lot of their tunes. The Outlaws, Skynyrd, Georgia satellites, Whiskey Myers, Brent Cobb, Charlie Daniels band, are all IMO Southern/County rock. It's debatable on Molly Hatchet especially their later years, and Blackfoot. I'm from the South and was raised on country and Southern rock, I know what I'm talking about. Southern Rock doesn't necessarily mean a rock band from the south like Pantera or lamb of God. It has to have a country vibe In lyrics with a touch of country playing that gives it that distinct sound that sets it apart from hard rock bands like Aerosmith, Van Halen or Guns N Roses.
@@michaelolvera7490 Good story. I was raised in North Carolina but moved to Virginia in 2007. One night in late 2008 a couple of friends and I was shooting pool at a decent sized club (maybe room for 100/150 people) with a stage and dance floor in downtown Richmond. After a few beers and games of pool, what I thought was a house/bar band started playing. I really didn't pay much attention at first, but that changed really quick as the opening song was "Sanctified Woman" and moved on to "good one coming on" to "restless". I eventually stopped playing pool all together and focused in on this band, thinking this isn't just a bar band. They really just blew me away with Charlie playing on his Les Paul junior, which also happens to be a guitar I own and love to play. I left out of there buying the "little piece of dixie" CD that they were promoting at a merchandise table on the way out and have been following them ever since. I have probably 20 ticket stubs of seeing that band and watching their following grow year by year. They headline amphitheaters around here now.
Not giving any names here, but my teachers son is in this band, at first I was like, cool. AND THEN ONCE I CHECKED THEM OUT I WAS LIKE DANG THEY ARE GOOD MAN. 🤣
Man I know this song is special for y'all and in the past six months man it really weighed in on my life...I had found my old friend and then I lost her again and about all I have left of that year after waiting 36 years is this song...so thanks y'all...much love from here in Missurah ❤️
A dying breed of music that should be a rising breed of music. This sound is so legit. I can't believe the pop country risen out of Nashville is was one of the bigger sounds coming from the South.
YOU BOYS MAKE ME PROUD....MY HEART IS SINGING DIXIE.....REMEMBER WHERE YOU CAME FROM ....WHERE SOUTHERN ROCK STARTED WITH THE ALLMAN BROS......YOU GOT A BRIGHT FUTURE ....AND ON THE RIGHT TRACK .....GOODLUCK BOYS
I'm actually wearing my Georgia Thunderbolts t-shirt today. Got to see them twice this year. Once at The Shed in Maryville TN, and at the Paramount Art Center in Ashland Kentucky. These guys are real up and comers. One of my best memories of my life will always be my 2 year old grand daughter dancing to these guys at The Shed.
Great to have a new and good Southern Rock band. The band has a tight but somewhat predictable sound except TJs vocals are off the chart.!!! Keep playing your own work and keep the faith.
I don't get it. Best song I've heard since the '70s. What took this song and band so long to get noticed!?? I hope they make it huge. They truly deserve it. I miss these kinds of sounds.
Definitely has that southern Rock sound. Singer actually sounds a bit like Neil Young! They remind me of Lynyrd Skynyrd! Great sound and song too!! Rock on! 🤘👩🎤
Agree, just discovered this band few days ago from black Stone Cherry who said new album was yesterday and I check it out and wow 😮 Lynyrd Skynyrd meets Bad Company
One of the best songs I've heard in the past five years. There's not many songs I listen to 2 or 3 times in a row but this song yeah, I do. Also, about as nice a group of guys you'll ever meet. Love hanging and talking with them. Can't wait for the next show. Covid please go away soon. Rock on boys you know what you're doing and thanks!
Just discovered these guys on you tube tonight, fan freaking tastic. So glad to see real musicians making real music. Killer slide, killer vocals, and is that a Hagstrom bass I see!?!?!?
Heard these guys in Wilkesboro, NC as an opener for Black Stone Cherry...... I was blown away. They are just as good live as their recordings.... assuming the sound guy turns the bass guitar up so I can hear it.... LOL. I am officially a fan of Georgia Thunderbolts! Playing your stuff all the time now. VERY TALENTED bunch!
This straight up southern Rock, drop 🎤 new is shit that is trying to get a heavy sound but sounds any other Southern Rock band. Love the Bob Seger vibe ....
OMG!! I've been searching for this song forever!! 92.3 in Indiana plays it. Reminds me of long missed southern rock and a lot of great memories. Thank you! Love this song.
SOUNDS LIKE MTB, ALLMAN BROTHERS, SKYNYRD, 38 SPECIAL SONG . ANY OF THEM COULD BE JAMMING ON 40 YEARS AGO. I'D LOVE TO SEE A LIVE IN CONCERT PERFORMANCE WITH GUITAR SOLO'S.
Wow this is great , what a voice .sitting in scotland listening to this feels like 30 years ago when I first heard southern rock bands music. Keep it going guys just bought your EP and lookin forward to hearing more from you .
Thanks everyone for the kind words! You can go pre-order the new album here: smarturl.it/TheGAThunderbolts It will be available on CD on October 15 and Double Vinyl on November 26. We appreciate your support!
Play this on the radio and the world would be a better place.
What's going on here, no make up, no drum machine, no computers. Just talent and the ability to make great music, I heard a snippet on the radio and had to hear a lot more.
yeah computers are for working or playing video games not music
They are great live ...good ole boys
Just plain and simple r&r the way it's supposed to be!!
God I miss the ABB but thus track sure has a touch of Dickey and Gregg
It's like Skynyrd and ZZ Top had a baby...dig it!
Or maybe a mix of Marshall Tucker Band with Edgar Winter Group?
To me they have a bit of foo fighters
Ronnie Lives!
Southern Rock lives!
This is what the world needs. More Country Rock! Bring it back, go thunderbolts!!!
Hard rock might be dead, but Country Rock is extremely popular with no shortness of artists in this generation.

Yep!
I finally found an amazing band of our generation!!
🔥SOUTHERN ROCK RULES🔥
Sounds like a mix of 70s southern rock as well as new country. Nice mix. Better than what they play on radio these days.
Not giving any names here, but my teachers son is in this band, at first I was like, cool. AND THEN ONCE I CHECKED THEM OUT I WAS LIKE DANG THEY ARE GOOD MAN. 🤣
