Just last week I was halfway through engagement before marrying my fiance, and I thought about a video idea; What about weird/odd Marriage proposals in games? Not like real world people proposing, but the characters themselves? You guys and gals are awesome, keep up the great work!
Dark souls bonfires are typically used as a story telling device. Their placement gives us clues about past events in the area, like the ones in the tomb of giants, or the one in front of the Everlasting Dragon. As bonfires can be credited and moved ( see cut content for DS3 ) a " strange " place to find one is telling you a story.
How about in Dark Souls 3 where they have one just appear after every boss is beaten, whether a Lord of Cinder or not, and some of them are meet feet away from bonfires that were already there? It also makes me wonder, if a bonfire is made by sacrificing an undead with a Coiled Sword, and the bonfires themselves are actually linked to the First Flame (hence how you're able to bottle Estus in your flask, estus being Latin for "warmth" and being described as liquid sunlight), how is the sword connected to the Flame? Who made them? And most importantly, who's been going around pinning undead to the ground with them?
I believe last time I played Kingdom come deliverance there is a bonfire with a sword in it west of Skalitz. I saw a fire with a sword in it on a path hidden in the woods
In Aragami, a Japanese-style stealth game where you play as an undead ninja, there’s a small and unassuming cave mouth off to one side in one of the levels. Teleport inside and you’ll find a lit bonfire with a sword stuck in it, with a withered corpse slumped lifelessly before it. I found that easter egg when playing co-op with my buddy, and we both loved the reference.
Finally I can help out and use my long awaited knowledge that there is a bonfire on the roof of the bank in Dishonored: Death of the Outsider! Now I can finally remove that from my memory and leave room for more knowledge of lore from Dark Souls. Yay...?
In Bordrlands 2, there is a bonfire in the Caustic Caverns, an NPC named Solitaire with it, and I believe an in game "Badass Challenge" for getting there as it is very hard to do so.
One that i think is worth noting is the Borderlands 2 Dark Souls bonfire, if you go to the Underground area from where sanctuary used to be, there is a giant acid area, but when you get near one corner of the map you can see a platform barely in sight, if you can survive the treck through the acid water, you find an NPC next to a bonfire
In Borderlands 2, while in Caustic Caverns, if you can cross a lake of acidic...acid to a remote island in the distant, there's a bonfire where a familiar face sits, resting and I presume contemplating how he found himself in a game with a bazillion guns and no one praising the sun.
Is it weird that I expected all of these to just be in Dark Souls itself, just a bunch of places where nobody would ever set up an ordinary bonfire, like, poorly-ventilated caves and the like?
Dead Cells has a fun little one. When you discover the hidden room with the bonfire, the words "Git Gud" are written on the wall. When you interact with the bonfire you get the text "This campfire was abandoned by an earlier visitor...." and then "I'm sure it couldn't hurt to take a little rest." After you hear a rumbling and get "Hmm. Something's changed." At which point you get mobbed by a load of enemies at the entrance of the secret room.
It's the same sword you got after beating the game's first boss, but couldn't use as a sword and had to stab into the bonfire at Firelink Shrine to reignite it.
In Dead Cells, there are optional passageway in the levels. Sometimes, one of these bring you to a small cave with a Dark Soul bonfire. If you activate it, make a monster appear (they look like undead) and, when you kill it, it gives a lot more dead cells than normal!
My favourite hidden bonfire is in Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun. In the second to last level, Myogi Pass, there's a hidden wall that disappears if you approach it with a torch. Upon stepping foot inside the newly opened cave, you find a burnt out bonfire. Press the interact button and your character will light it. Tadaaa.
In Hellpoint there’s a bonfire hidden in the Union Park area. Being a soulslike it makes sense to have a nod to Dark Souls, but as the game is set on a space station it definitely stands out
In Paladins Zhin has an emote where he thrusts his flaming sword into the ground, then places his hand out to light it Dark Souls-style, before kneeling over to kindle it. It's not exactly a weird place to find a bonfire, being a fantasy setting itself, but I still appreciate that the character with a flaming sword would make such an easy reference.
What I love most about this is at the end when Ellen seems to be able to crack herself up with no one else in the room. Reminds me of the ancient sofa days. Remember those?
Just found this one yesterday, in chapter 5 of Aragami there is a hidden bonfire you have to blink to through a small cave opening, even comes with a ghost that sits at the fire
The weirdest place I found a Dark Souls Bonfire was in Borderlands 2. It was on a tiny island on a subterranean lake filled with acid. I also found a Minecraft cave in that same area, that came with Creepers. I'd rather take the acid filled swim to reach a bonfire over fighting those sneaky jerks.
Oh, so you can just run up in fallen order? I was running up the other way, that jump, get the rope, turn back jump again to get some height (no double jump) and run between walls. Took me 40 minutes to get there. But I did in the end.
World of Warcraft, Legion Expansion, Stormheim Zone -> Helheim minizone, middle-north part of The Eternal Battlefield area, there's a ring of weapons wreathed in fog and in the middle, and bonfire with a sword.
What about that one amazing gun in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequal, which you can only pull out if you have a sufficiently high enough Badass Rank? Might be more King Arthur, though, admittedly...
So the Bonfire in Nuka-World gives stimpacks? Nice, thanks for the tip! And these were some pretty amusing Easter Eggs -- I particularly liked the Just Cause 3 one with the gun variation. XD
Indie game Hellpoint has a dark souls bonfire in the Union Park area of the Alma Mater Atrium. Being that the setting is a space station orbiting a black-hole, it’s a bit of a strange location for a bonfire.
Since the Jedi Fallen Order easter egg Bonefire Darks Souls i have few to mention here aswell... Actually 3 interesting Sites of 3 big games aswell : 1) Sekiro Shadows Die Twice : There is a Bonefire at Hirata Estate where you pick up the Flame Vent reminicent to Dark Souls Bonefire or else why would the Tool be in there burning 😅 It's as if the Infamous Coiled Sword refference tool to use. 2) Nioh/Nioh 2 : The Revanent Graves have the iconic Bonefire with the Coil Sword to it , i'm pretty sure that's Obvious 3) Ghost Of Tsushima : Actually the 3rd Act Freezing Mountain , which contains the Undying Flame Bonefire ( This is a ever-burning Bonefire on its own located on top of the mountain near a small shack , However after you defeat the Mystic Art Boss to learn the Incendiary Oil ) You could then Buff half of your Katana with Flames , as a flaming sword. Reminicent to the Coiled Sword how it has a scorching Hot Red glow on the upper half of the Coiled Sword ( Kinda like Jin Sakai's Katana when he buffs it with the Flaming Oil that he learned in Act 3 ) *That's a Spoiler aswell* *Note* : In Dark Souls 3 , the Coiled Sword that you get from defeating the 1st Boss Iudex Gundyr is a sword that has a twisted Coil as its Blade ( Within the Blade , the lower half portion of the blade is Dark Black or Grey as in Steel... the other upper half up untill the tip of the Sword there's a Orange-Redish glow to it , as it has been half covered within the Flaming Bonefire ). *Resulting to that Scorching upper half of the Coiled Sword , this could explain the refference behind Ghost of Tsushima Jin Sakai's Flame Katana Buff that he learns at the End of the Game..... There's also that Undying Flame Bonefire atop of the Mountain in Ghost of Tsushima , as if the Undying Kindled Bonefire in Dark Souls 3 Hub Area when you attach the Coil Sword* Let me know what you think 😉

I saw it too and at first I wasn’t sure, so I called my brother in (he’s played all of the souls game) and assured me it was
Is it weird that I expected all of these to just be in Dark Souls itself, just a bunch of places where nobody would ever set up an ordinary bonfire, like, poorly-ventilated caves and the like?
or that one jungle where there's so many plants that you'd expect it to burn the foliage...
That was my first thought.
"Guess who else played dark souls"
Me : MIKE !!!!
I mean, to be fair, there *is* a bonfire sword weapon you get from beating the final boss of base game dark souls 3
It's the same sword you got after beating the game's first boss, but couldn't use as a sword and had to stab into the bonfire at Firelink Shrine to reignite it.
This is the content I subscribe for! Much love for dark souls ❤️
In Dead Cells, there are optional passageway in the levels. Sometimes, one of these bring you to a small cave with a Dark Soul bonfire. If you activate it, make a monster appear (they look like undead) and, when you kill it, it gives a lot more dead cells than normal!
That Jedi fallen order is just a normal campfire
Me watching the spoilers section.
Fallout 4
Me: O_O how did I miss that after all these years!? Even the epic Nate didn't mention that!!
I find it strange how Solaire has the catchphrase “Praise the sun!” Even though he never said those words ever. Only in ThePruld.
Well, it's the name of the gesture that he performs when we summon him.
@@Darkprosper Yeah and he also teaches it to you
@@charbel2750 No, you learn it from the sunbro covenant.
Being a soulslike it makes sense to have a nod to Dark Souls, but as the game is set on a space station it definitely stands out
Isn't Star Wars technically set in the past? So the bonfire there would be from the future.
Well done in Disconnected Ellen!!!
OMG!
I didin't know you were talking about in DIFFERENT games!
That is awesome!
7:08 I see grandma came out the natural way.
Okay list. Thanks for uploading!
Given that it's named the "Excalibastard" it's probably that second one. 😉
@@TheLastGarou Yes, but you still pull it from a pile of embers! If I'm recalling correctly... been a while...
@@CD-Gaming I *think* it's a grave.🤔
Well, you know what this means: time for another playthrough! 🥳
We need a best grappling hooks video. The grappling hooks from just cause, terraria, and jet island would be my top choices
Since the Jedi Fallen Order easter egg Bonefire Darks Souls i have few to mention here aswell... Actually 3 interesting Sites of 3 big games aswell :
1) Sekiro Shadows Die Twice : There is a Bonefire at Hirata Estate where you pick up the Flame Vent reminicent to Dark Souls Bonefire or else why would the Tool be in there burning 😅 It's as if the Infamous Coiled Sword refference tool to use.
2) Nioh/Nioh 2 : The Revanent Graves have the iconic Bonefire with the Coil Sword to it , i'm pretty sure that's Obvious
3) Ghost Of Tsushima : Actually the 3rd Act Freezing Mountain , which contains the Undying Flame Bonefire ( This is a ever-burning Bonefire on its own located on top of the mountain near a small shack , However after you defeat the Mystic Art Boss to learn the Incendiary Oil ) You could then Buff half of your Katana with Flames , as a flaming sword. Reminicent to the Coiled Sword how it has a scorching Hot Red glow on the upper half of the Coiled Sword ( Kinda like Jin Sakai's Katana when he buffs it with the Flaming Oil that he learned in Act 3 ) *That's a Spoiler aswell*
*Note* : In Dark Souls 3 , the Coiled Sword that you get from defeating the 1st Boss Iudex Gundyr is a sword that has a twisted Coil as its Blade ( Within the Blade , the lower half portion of the blade is Dark Black or Grey as in Steel... the other upper half up untill the tip of the Sword there's a Orange-Redish glow to it , as it has been half covered within the Flaming Bonefire ).
Sonic Robo Blast 2, a Sonic fangame that has been in development since 1998, using a modified version of the Doom Legacy engine, has a Dark Souls bonfire show up during Castle Eggman Zone.
You don't need any roller coasters in Dark Souls because playing the game is a roller coaster of emotions.
11:13 literally I just thought the same thing.
