Im using the 2023 model and i love it. I think the screen is pretty good too and the performance is incredible. Its replaced my old desktop as i had to get rid of it.
I bought the 2023's TUF A15, Ryzen 9 7940HS with RTX4060..and yes, I'm happy with it. Decent price and performance ratio...it's a mid range gaming laptop afterall
What about the loading times in games? Is the built-in SSD's fast enough to handle games without a stutter and how does it compare to the M.2 ones that are installed after?
I was contemplating on buying this model or the Acer Nitro V or v15, which one is better? I really want the Asus Tuf but I'm afraid because some comments say that the Asus tuf heats easily and gets frame drops.
I havent reviewed the Nitro V/15 yet, so I cant speak on that unfortunately. I do know that the TUF 15 has had very good temperatures so far, and definitely doesnt have framedrops or overheating issues. People that have those problems either have a defective unit, or don't have optimal airflow at the bottom

Hey, can you review the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 16' next? There are very few reviews of that online but it seems very solid for the price and has no real downsides to it for a gaming laptop.
that cause you bought the low end one i have the f17 does not do that every things is solid when you set up right its perfect speaker sound great bass ect
Should i buy the laptop with the rtx 4070 and the intel i7 12700h? It costs 1099€ because it is on sale. I want to use it mostly for school work and of course gaming. How long does the battery lasts?
I would suggest buying one with the amd cpu in it since its slightly more stable and uses less power, thus giving better battery life. But its your choice if the intel one is on sale.
It's okay, completely depends on what kind of games you play. It will play CS2 fine, but might have trouble with the newest titles, or anything with RTX. But in general, it's fine!
Great review! Just a few things; I think the touchpad with your unit is probably sticky or faulty since mine doesn't make any extra noises like yours and you only hear the click sound. As for the speaker distortion... Are you sure it's there and Dolby drivers are installed? I crank up mine to 100% and never notice any distortion. And finally, it'd be much better if you benchmarked these laptops in more intensive games like Cyberpunk 2077 as a game like Counter Strike would never utilise the hardware at its maximum, especially on the GPU. Overall I think this laptop kinda sucks. It's mid/high-end in the budget tier laptops at best. If I could, I'd have added some more money and gotten a ROG instead. The performance at 1080p resolution is the biggest advantage of TUF over higher end laptops like G14. A 4060/4070 at 1080p will last you WAY WAY longer than it will at 1600p resolution. So there's also that.
They're close in performance, but the Ryzen is slightly faster, and also uses a bit less power. I believe the 2024 models only come with Ryzen CPUs as well.
i literally just seen this after watching the unboxing vid, i was looking for a new laptop that actually has a graphics card because my laptop that runs on integrated graphics sucks even on low settings 😂

It can absolutely handle the stuff you need it for. Its build quality is a bit meh though, which you should consider when buying something for long term use...
I have the rtx 4050 ryzen 5 7535hs model, i loved the performance, design and other stuff. But i would say the display could have been better. 144 hz with 25 ms latency is not really good for competetive games. If you are planning for buying external monitor then go for it
Not sure why you'd play competitive on a laptop in the first place. External keyboard and mouse and plugged into a separate display, sure, but just as is makes no sense.
@@mydogeatspuke Yeah you are right, if you play story or singleplayer games it is fine. But i want to say that if i connect second display, keyboard and other stuff then what about the laptop's portability?
@@Iluvebp I don't know what it is that you want me to say lmao. If you want a laptop with an amazing screen, you have to pay a lot of money, and the battery drain is really high so it can't be used for more than an hour without being plugged in when gaming. Which makes it not portable either. But then I don't know why you'd decide to take a laptop somewhere without access to a plug socket (but does have WiFi??) to play competitive games either. Just play them at home. Or where there's power. And so also screens and peripherals. A powerful laptop with a good screen and a battery to support it for portability (and I guess using your phone as a WiFi hotspot so you can play CS in a field???) would cost significantly more than this laptop. If that's what you want, buy that instead. Or, well, as anyone who actually plays competitively at a good level would tell you, get a desktop because laptops are bad for that no matter how much you spend.
Am having one but its performance is ultra and graphics are great with games like fc24 and rdr2. I recommend. And mine isnt soft and too plastic like this 😂
Hi! I'm using exactly the same machine about week. Got it about 1300$. All games runs smooth, I' m happy! 😀 Using extrernal monitor, kbd, mouse I dont care about these built in...
Hey crimson i like watching media content like yt and do a bit of light gaming i searched a bit about which laptop to buy on my budget i got 3 options can u help me out? Option 1: asus vivobook s16 oled pros are: amazing value,3.2k oled, intel core ultra 9 ( u can buy the new ryzen variant in it but it costs alot) ,thin and very light, has thunder bolt, has rgb which i like, has all ports that i need, super fast ram, runs cool. Cons: no gpu which is alright because u can plug in a egpu with thunderbolt. Option 2 asus rog zephyrus g16 2023 pros: it has a 4060,and i7 but h series, rgb. Cons: meh screen, poor battery life, webcam is terrible, heavy. Option 3 asus vivobook s15 pro oled pros: ryzen 9 7940hs and rtx 4060 (65w tgp),2800/1650 oled. Cons: it runs hot which i really dont like,4060 tgp is ok. (It may seem im fanboying the vivobook s16 and im not biased lol)
My rating would be: 1. Zephyrus G16 Battery life is **okay**, but not as good as on a G14, could be better. It has either an OLED or a **very** good IPS display, so imo the display is actually really good. And the speakers were REALLY good (although alot of people just use headphones lol) And the G16 is actually one of the lightest 16 inch gaming laptops, so weight was never a problem for me. 2. S15 A friend of mine has the S15, and has had very little complaints so far. Great display, nice keyboard and trackpad, and pretty light. His only complaints were the slightly low TGP of the 4060, the speaker quality, and the fan noise. 3. S16 I personally wouldnt recommend a laptop without a dGPU, since you'd be limiting yourself a LOT with how many programs and games you can run well. External GPUs are an option, but janky drivers and the heavyness of the enclosures dont sit well with me.
I think u meant the g16 2024 lol i said 2023 variant not 2024 😂 anyways i think ill get the vivobook because its soooo light for a 16 inch laptop and thin like 1.5kg light and that oled would be nice for media consumption.
hi guys i want to buy this laptop but there a problem im living in Africa specially somali however there my cousin who lives in america so he coming to the country next month so i want to order this laptop but in amzon the laptop price is 599 so what i say to him/her to get this laptop any advice
That's probably the RTX 2050/3050 model, with a slightly weaker processor. It will definitely run games, but obviously not at the highest possible settings. I would say 600 is pretty worth it though. So if you're okay with the downsides I listed in the video, I'd get it!
Ok fine, the lenovo legion slim 5 14 might not be your speed. But the lenovo legion slim 7i might be one of the best premium gaming laptops ever. And you can get up to a 4070.

The only game i wanna play is nfs most wanted from childhood, and on this great machine i have lags and the graphics isnt smooth at all, tried with drivers, nvidia cp, armor creative, all that stuff.. but aint resolving my problem. The game is from 2005 and i cannot believe that i cannot enjoy it on this 1200€ laptop..
@@alexandar4943 If you've already checked your power plan settings to be in "Turbo" or "Ultimate" Performance as well as "Turbo" mode and "Ultimate" (GPU Mode) for Armoury Crate, have you checked your temperature settings while gaming? You may be throttled by CPU/GPU temps. I needed to get a better laptop cooler since I was experiencing some high CPU temps, so I got the IETS GT600 V2. Do you have any antivirus software that could be affecting performance?
@@GBBangin thanks for the reply but no i dont think it is a temp problem bcuz its a brand new laptop, all the mods tried and not working, for example other game like nfs 2015 works perfectly fine on even ultra settings
In terms of portability:
Yes, touchpad, screen and speakers are bad.
BUT: it's also very robust, pretty compact and light for 15,6", fan noise is low for a gaming machine and battery life should be good too.
Great video & great idea to compare the A/F 15 with the G14 :)
This is a very good review of this laptop. Thank you.
Thank you!
I understand the speakers aren't great, but do people actually use laptop speakers?
Is the touchpad supposed to be a little lower/deeper on the top right side?
I dont think so, but every unit might have small imperfections. If it doesn't affect functionality, i wouldnt worry too much about it :)
@ Mine is a bit but idk if it’s because I pressed it too hard or if it came like that…it still works perfectly fine though!

Such an useful review, and very pleasant to watch (rare on RUclips lately) I just ordered a 3070 at 22% off, this will be my first laptop :3
Thank you! :D
Oooh exciting, enjoy it :o
Nice review. I have ordered this laptop. My version comes with QHD display (2560 X 1440) 165HZ. Very very excited🎉. How RTX 4070 will handle this display for gaming?
Ayy exciting!!
The 4070 is great for QHD, haven't had a single game that didn't run well :)
What procesor have you got ?
Battery life?
How severe is the backlight bleed in this laptop?
Im using the 2023 model and i love it. I think the screen is pretty good too and the performance is incredible. Its replaced my old desktop as i had to get rid of it.
Which model did you choose? Fa507nu Model has 25 ms panel latency so ghosting makes my gameplay a little bit unsatisfying.
What about this model FA506NC-HN005W ?? @@Iluvebp
I bought the 2023's TUF A15, Ryzen 9 7940HS with RTX4060..and yes, I'm happy with it. Decent price and performance ratio...it's a mid range gaming laptop afterall
It's a great performer nonetheless! :)
Would I need a cooling pad with this one? Is it recommended or required or not at all needed?
As long as you put it on a flat surface (a desk, table, whatever), a cooling pad is NOT needed at all.
@ thank you for such a fast response
How is the battery life on this laptop?
Mine just got delivert . It sports a ryzen 9 , 32gb ram and a 4070 on board graphic’s card 🙂
Nice... I was concerned about the screen though : ) BTW you want plastic-fantastic? Try MSI, especially the Cyborg : )
I'm planning to cover the new Cyborg 14! :)
which better asus TUF A15 or lenovo loq 15, i'm get confuse to buy my laptop since many people in comunity said lenovo loq had mobo and the temp is high
I got a ps5 connected to my LG C1 OLED 55inc … the question is: will I see a change to graphics playing for example: BG3 or souls games ?
ofc this is atleast 50% stronger than a ps5
Yes, it beats a PS5 in terms of performance. You will of course need to tweak some settings, but you can make it look better than a ps5.
is this laptop good for music production and 3d modeling?
Yes, definitely.
For big FL Studio projects you might need 32GB of RAM, but the CPU and GPU are def good enough for both.
What should I use in armoury crate for gpu mode. Which one is the best. I am generally using it for gaming and watching sth
Use Silent when you're on battery, and Turbo or Manual with FULL FAN while plugged in. If full fan is too loud, stick to Turbo :)
@@crimsontechyt There are turbo and silent fan modes, and graphics card modes: ultimate eco standard and optimized. Which one should I use as GPU mode?
@@keremuvat9372 If you always have the laptop plugged in, leave it on Ultimate. It uses more power, but it does improve performance.

They stay well-balanced for a gaming laptop, definitely better than smaller devices.

Yes! It's great for editing :)

Do they all come with 16GB ram and are they upgradable if they don’t come with 32GB ram ??
It differs per region, but all the models here only go up to 16gb.
But yes, they ARE upgradeable up to 32gb ram :)
@@crimsontechyt thank you for that becoz in my region it said it came with 32GB and it confused me a little 👍🏻
@@crimsontechyt By 32gb, do you mean 16gb for 2 memory slots or each 32gb?
Both slots are filled so it had dual channel memory. That does mean you'll have to buy a 32gb stick or two 16gb sticks to replace them with though
@@crimsontechyt Might be dumb question to ask. If so, can i buy 2 32 gb stick so it goes to 64gb?

Should i buy the laptop with the rtx 4070 and the intel i7 12700h? It costs 1099€ because it is on sale.
I want to use it mostly for school work and of course gaming. How long does the battery lasts?
I would suggest buying one with the amd cpu in it since its slightly more stable and uses less power, thus giving better battery life. But its your choice if the intel one is on sale.
That's a pretty good price!
It'll handle anything you throw at it, but battery life will probably be horrible 🥲
Is there fingerprint scanner?
No, not on this model

Exactlyy
I don't really care about all those things I could just use to play my games
I want to buy this laptop but i hear , this laptop have 25 ms and ghosting problem. İs this true ? Do you think I should buy it?
is the variant with ryzen better than intel?
They're close in performance, but the Ryzen is slightly faster, and also uses a bit less power. I believe the 2024 models only come with Ryzen CPUs as well.
@@crimsontechyt aha i see, thanks for the info

Wait im confused, I have the tuf a15 2023 and the lid is made out of metal

My rating would be:
1. Zephyrus G16
Battery life is **okay**, but not as good as on a G14, could be better.
It has either an OLED or a **very** good IPS display, so imo the display is actually really good. And the speakers were REALLY good (although alot of people just use headphones lol)
And the G16 is actually one of the lightest 16 inch gaming laptops, so weight was never a problem for me.
2. S15
A friend of mine has the S15, and has had very little complaints so far. Great display, nice keyboard and trackpad, and pretty light.
His only complaints were the slightly low TGP of the 4060, the speaker quality, and the fan noise.
3. S16
I personally wouldnt recommend a laptop without a dGPU, since you'd be limiting yourself a LOT with how many programs and games you can run well.
HOW MUCH FPS IN FORTNITE 😭
Display should be 1440p😢
Yepp, but they had to cut costs somewhere 🥲
You'd also get lower performance. You wouldn't miss out a lot.
There is a version with a better display, 1440p 165hz and 300 Nits, model number FA507UI-HQ079 . Available with 4070 only.

im living in Africa specially somali however there my cousin who lives in america so he coming to the country next month so i want to order this laptop but in amzon the laptop price is 599 so what i say to him/her to get this laptop any advice
