Don‘t come up with ultimate team if you want to compare the gameplay LOL. The FIFA gameplay in online seasons and offline mode is better than in ultimate team. But PES is way better than FIFA gameplay overall.
as someone who have played both, it sucks to see pes not being able to beat fifa just because of licenses. But pes used to be better back in 2012-2013.
I prefer the gameplay of PES but enjoy the authenticity of FIFA. Thankfully on PES you can implement licenses though so It's fine if you have PS4 or PC.

PES 8(was awful) was my last PES and just got FIFA till I got both again in 2015 so agree with 08 FIFA and 2016 PES gap. Nothing to compare rest with but FIFA 10 to FIFA 12 were greatly improved year on year with new modes(Full FUT year round, Be a Pro and Creation Center) and gameplay improvements(Impact Engine,Tactical defending, Dribbling shield and close control) some that are still in the game now in some form. After that not much has changed just refinded or removed as they changed engine twice. EA stood still and Konami improved greatly from 2015 with the help of the Fox engine.

So difficult to understand this analysis, each to his own I guess. For me FIFA 18 is SO arcadey - sprint, tricks, dribble and shoot. PES requires much more crafted build up play and tactics settings are so important. I'm a fanboy of neither btw, played them both over the years since 1996. I really think PES just killed it for 2018. SO much better than FIFA in every way bar the licenses and graphics.
As someone who doesn't follow soccer and care about the licenses stuff...I can say from a strictly gameplay and graphics comparison from playing both 18 versions of FIFA an PES... it's not even close. PES is just on another level now. PES is just so fluid with exciting gameplay that has you coming out of your chair/couch on scoring chances. Feel sorry for the fanboys who refuse to try PES. It's just a way cooler gaming experience and looks great on big screen 4K tv. It's like FIFA is like a last gen game compared to how far PES has come with the last 2 versions.
Jason Kitching I don’t have an Xbox but I’m sure you can, you need to download the mods on a USB (through a laptop or PC), then insert the USB into the Xbox and then download it through PES, just like you would do on a PS4

Loved PES when I was younger. Fully customisable and no licenses so hopefully they go back to that now they have lost the UCL license. I remember PES 4 (or Pro Evo everyone called it) where it let you update your kits just in Master League at the beginning of each season.
If you are a real football fan, PES is the one that you should like. It feels more real. It feels like I'm actually playing a football game. But the licenses... EA vs Konami. Colossus vs Ant. That's why.

These guys always harp on about the least important aspects of football games. Crowd reactions and atmosphere are some of the last things we care about when we watch a video on FIFA/PES, just tell us what's new, gameplay wise, explain how this year is different from previous years and then tack on the atmosphere bit at the end, not start with it like it's the most important aspect of the game.

If I had 5 minutes with those games I could tell you every little change from the previous editions no matter how big or small the change is and I wouldn't even mention licensing or in-game presentation.
I have got both again last few years since PES recovered from it awful spell. As people have said PES has Gameplay and FIFA has Modes, Online and authenticity. ML and FIFA Career modes are both poor, stripped and unrealistic. PES should go back to roots and try to improve and have more customisation options while improving online services and add more modes. FIFA has a game that sells but has boring gameplay as very one dimensional in attack and defence. It got worst with every patch as they made it simpler and required less user Input.
You Don't differ a console by it's design ,you differ it by the performance. That should be the case with pes and fifa. You're not playing a game for it's look like license teams or leagues, you play it for the gameplay and that's why pes is way better than Fifa.
I am a PES fan and will most likely buy PES again.. but I have to say that football is emotion and team connection and FIFA does that better. Still, gameplay wise I get a proper satisfaction from PES while FiFA just leaves me frustrated at times.

Its honestly better to struggle and get to the top rather than getting all OP players so fast. The game is pretty much pointless and boring after getting all legends. I started with alcacer on fifa 18 and ended up with 2 tots players, skriniar and parejo.
Pes for me ,on ps4 they get better games every year ,now with no longer having to work on pes 2019 for ps3 they can concentrate on ps4 and cpu more, add more to the game ,the new leagues have much more value for me than champions league,let the fifa fans enjoy that .

After FIFA 18 I got incredibly bored very quickly and now I’m actually thinking of purchasing PES instead.... the only thing that puts me off is master league.... is there any way to just have English clubs in your Master League

I’ve played PES, tried to give it a go bc most comment sections say the game play is better than FIFA... I don’t see it. Maybe on the offensive end. But defending in PES is downright boring. I’ll be waiting till FIFA drops this year
Getting PES this year(again as I have been back with it since 2016) is a no brainer. It will have better and more realistic gameplay than FIFA and will come out a whole month earlier just 2 weeks after the club season has started. But it's good FIFA comes out also so more childish people will have their game aswell where they can trade player cards! For me personally that's so 90s though! We used to do that during the early 90s at school during breaks.
What they are saying about the crowds cheering, is that different from other FIFA games, because they've always cheered and been louder after a goal. I don't really understand what they're getting at there...
This is a decent review, just repeating what the FIFA creators have already said for instance about the 50/50 challenges. I do agree that they have played the game but they haven’t placed any detail into the review.

Bring back scenario mode for pes like we use to have on iss 64, and update scenarios monthly and also make co-op scenarios, also have two legged online matches so we can have aggregate scores in online matches and please add a button so we can change what foot we can shoot with
They need a change player mechanic that chooses the player positioned in the opposite direction of the directional stick. Then the newly selected player will run in the direction you want.
I always end up caving in and buying both games every year, at least in recent years. They're both just really quality games and they are different enough from one another that it keeps me from getting bored over the course of a 9 or 10 month season. I prefer the game play of PES, but it's a closer race for me than for some, and FIFA has so many bells and whistles to complement its own excellent game play.
Am a great fun of PES but for yr 18 I tried FIFA and there was nothing much I enjoyed other than online matches. Anyway for yr 19 am going back to PES.
Fifa looks good and plays well for a while and gets really boring. However Pes starts boring and turns beautifully into a love story. And im a fan of both games buying them yearly.
I really hope they've fixed the defensive back-headers in PES2019. Playing online and having your opponent header back to their goalkeeper with 100% accuracy every time is so frustrating.
why cant we simply skip cutscenes with the x button in pes and just get on with the gameplay....you have to press the options button and wait for the game to process and then bring up the pes logo and then you can resume thats like 5seconds just looking at the screen...sooooo annoying
It think you habe to bid if both parties want the licenses and most likely PES lost because too many kids spent on lootboxes(packs) that filled EA's pockets..
I never played PES since PES 6 (if I’m not mistaken), please somebody tell me if PES provides an online match like FIFA online season match, if yes I will defiantly switching to PES this time! I won’t be bias this time, but PES has a better gameplay and realistic animations (players and ball movement) I’ve played FIFA so much just only because of the online features.
I played Fifa from 05-11, then switched to pes for 12-15 then back to Fifa 16-18. However, I bought pes 2018 around January and have to say that it is 1000x better than fifa in terms of everything - especially gameplay. Will be buying pes 2019 and completely skipping Fifa as the lack of change for career mode is appalling
I have played pes all my life but I switched to FIFA two years back and even though pes has better gameplay I still prefer FIFA cause of game modes. I don't care about license.. but it's hard to stop playing ultimate team once you are into it.
I think they shouldn't release a Fifa game every year, only when there are SIGNIFICANT changes. So for example, Fifa 18 comes out, and through updates all of the players and teams get updated for the next season, instead of having to buy a new game.
this time pes19 is gonna beat fifa19. fifa had been great but pes19 has something very engaging to it. if i had to put a finger on it i would say the randomness in the algorithm makes the gameplay much realistic. the movement of the players side to side is improved and more physics based in pes19. the small animations of players during matches is realistic and noticeable makes the game more enjoyable. cut scenes, celebrations are great in pes as well. pes just needs a bit better cloth mechanics and maybe graphics a bit better to shine like a star.

Ollie Lovell last time I did an option file it literally took up half my life trying to get it right haha just have been like PES 2014 or summat

I’ve played PES, tried to give it a go bc most comment sections say the game play is better than FIFA... I don’t see it. Maybe on the offensive end. But defending in PES is downright boring. I’ll be waiting till FIFA drops this year
Getting PES this year(again as I have been back with it since 2016) is a no brainer. It will have better and more realistic gameplay than FIFA and will come out a whole month earlier just 2 weeks after the club season has started.
But it's good FIFA comes out also so more childish people will have their game aswell where they can trade player cards! For me personally that's so 90s though! We used to do that during the early 90s at school during breaks.
What they are saying about the crowds cheering, is that different from other FIFA games, because they've always cheered and been louder after a goal. I don't really understand what they're getting at there...

This is a decent review, just repeating what the FIFA creators have already said for instance about the 50/50 challenges. I do agree that they have played the game but they haven’t placed any detail into the review.
PES has good graphic and a real gameplay but FIFA I think is just pure entertainment
FIFA is scripted goal.. PES is more variety to create goal.. PES19 for me

Bring back scenario mode for pes like we use to have on iss 64, and update scenarios monthly and also make co-op scenarios, also have two legged online matches so we can have aggregate scores in online matches and please add a button so we can change what foot we can shoot with

They need a change player mechanic that chooses the player positioned in the opposite direction of the directional stick. Then the newly selected player will run in the direction you want.
Imagine Fifa 19 Ultimate team with the Pes 2019 gameplay. That would be so sick.

I always end up caving in and buying both games every year, at least in recent years. They're both just really quality games and they are different enough from one another that it keeps me from getting bored over the course of a 9 or 10 month season.
I prefer the game play of PES, but it's a closer race for me than for some, and FIFA has so many bells and whistles to complement its own excellent game play.
I want the commentating to be next level, if something crazy happens I want the commentators to go crazy and I want to get goosebumps in the process
Am a great fun of PES but for yr 18 I tried FIFA and there was nothing much I enjoyed other than online matches. Anyway for yr 19 am going back to PES.

Fifa looks good and plays well for a while and gets really boring. However Pes starts boring and turns beautifully into a love story. And im a fan of both games buying them yearly.
I buy both every year and honestly prefer to play pes. Only because of the online.

I really hope they've fixed the defensive back-headers in PES2019. Playing online and having your opponent header back to their goalkeeper with 100% accuracy every time is so frustrating.
Had to knock it off as soon as you said neymars pretty strong you obviously have learning difficulties
I always buy both games but just enjoy PES gameplay a lot more however fifa has better everything else like better commentary and licences
why cant we simply skip cutscenes with the x button in pes and just get on with the gameplay....you have to press the options button and wait for the game to process and then bring up the pes logo and then you can resume thats like 5seconds just looking at the screen...sooooo annoying
Does FIFA have exclusive rights for the EPL Serie A and La Liga? Or does Pro Evolution just not want to pay for the rights?

It think you habe to bid if both parties want the licenses and most likely PES lost because too many kids spent on lootboxes(packs) that filled EA's pockets..

I never played PES since PES 6 (if I’m not mistaken), please somebody tell me if PES provides an online match like FIFA online season match, if yes I will defiantly switching to PES this time! I won’t be bias this time, but PES has a better gameplay and realistic animations (players and ball movement) I’ve played FIFA so much just only because of the online features.
I played Fifa from 05-11, then switched to pes for 12-15 then back to Fifa 16-18. However, I bought pes 2018 around January and have to say that it is 1000x better than fifa in terms of everything - especially gameplay. Will be buying pes 2019 and completely skipping Fifa as the lack of change for career mode is appalling
I have played pes all my life but I switched to FIFA two years back and even though pes has better gameplay I still prefer FIFA cause of game modes. I don't care about license.. but it's hard to stop playing ultimate team once you are into it.
I think they shouldn't release a Fifa game every year, only when there are SIGNIFICANT changes.
So for example, Fifa 18 comes out, and through updates all of the players and teams get updated for the next season, instead of having to buy a new game.

this time pes19 is gonna beat fifa19. fifa had been great but pes19 has something very engaging to it. if i had to put a finger on it i would say the randomness in the algorithm makes the gameplay much realistic. the movement of the players side to side is improved and more physics based in pes19. the small animations of players during matches is realistic and noticeable makes the game more enjoyable. cut scenes, celebrations are great in pes as well. pes just needs a bit better cloth mechanics and maybe graphics a bit better to shine like a star.

If pes had all the license it would be a no contest but for me i like authenticity not exactly with gameplay but where the champions league go. I go with it
I'm switching to pes mainly because Scottish premier league licence. And being a career mode player. As I suck online
ea has ultimate team mode on fifa...madden...nhl and that mode alone is worth over 1 billion dollars... konami might have a better game but it doesnt stand a chance vs ea sports
