Got this on DVD - probably the most emotional concert I have ever seen. Joe Brown's "I'll see you in my dreams" always tears me up. So many gifted musicians sharing their love for George.
I think that a lot of people underestimate Clapton because he doesn't really shred. He can play fast when he wants to, but he rarely does. And I don't think he's ever practiced sweep picking and all that. It's just not a part of the blues, so he hasn't bothered with it. But what I like about him is that he always plays just what a song needs. And of course, that has as much to do with his choice of songs as it does with his technical ability. And he usually chooses well. It was also nice to see that he took the time to learn his own solo from the album version. He usually prefers to improvise everything. But this solo is so iconic, so I suppose he had to. Or felt it was the right thing to do. Goonies rock!
With the tremendous ego Eric has (deservedly so) it shows his 100% respect and love for George to have kept it so pure. I believe Eric wanted this concert to be the best possible, even if he took a back seat, so to speak. Gives me chills.
@zondaintheair comes from the yardbird days , he used to break a lot of strings, one for the fact he used to string up on stage while the audience clapped slowly 2, the yardbirds manager made it as a kind of joke or play , because Clapton can play quite fast when he wishes
Totally agree with you about the Prince version...it was amazing, but it was all about Prince. This is all about love and respect for their friend and Dhani's dad and the man who gave us this amazing music after all...
If you watch the whole concert there are loads of times when the more senior players look after Dhani emotionally, but at the end of this song Dhani checks that Eric is ok.....so moving.....
I really like that entire 'Concert for George'. Jeff Lynne, Albert Lee, Gary Brooker, Ray Cooper on percussion, so many good players. Check 'Isn't it a Pity' from the same show.
Glad you did this video. I totally agree with you. I was not a fan of the Prince solo - it was too far out of the feeling. Clapton's solo cries. Just fantastic!
The Concert for George was put together by Eric Clapton, 1 year after George's death, I think it was Eric's grief therapy - such heart, feeling throughout the concert.
For those who don't know: Clapton played the original guitar solo on the studio recording of While My Gutar Gently Weeps, which ended up on the Beatles White Album in 1968.
It was pretty much “take a friend to work day”. A lot of tension between the Beatles in the end so George decided to ease it by taking Eric to the studio. Smart move.
All that talent on stage is crazy! The "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" solo was one of the first I learned by ear. I just sat in my room and listened over and over. Felt so proud about knowing I could play something a legend like Clapton himself laid down on record!
Clapton revisiting a lead part he played on 50 years ago, amazing! He is among the most important musicians of the “ British Invasion” who re-introduced America to one of their neglected art forms. Keep the Blues Alive!
George Harrison was my first love. He was cute as could be with his big brown eyes and I always loved his music. He was a very special man. That's obvious as to how many friends were there. God bless all these people. If George would have been there he would have had a blast with his friends. Thanks again! Fil, for such a wonderful analysis. ❤️🌹❤️
It was Clapton that originally did that famous solo although he was never credited for it. My favorite Clapton, Harrison, Cream song is Badge. That rhythm guitar is unmistakably George Harrison. Btw saw your interview on Amy's Attic and got a heart for the comment. All too familiar m8
Everyone knew he played it. It just wasn't written on the album. The second lead player here is playing Clapton's original lead work until Eric is ready to solo.
Great tribute Eric is fantastic! Love your analysis of this Fil you really know how to point out such intricacies and still manage to give an brilliant overview of context!🌟
You perfectly expressed the distinction between Clapton’s tribute to George and Prince’s domination of the other musicians at the Hall of Fame induction. Prince could wield a mean tele, but this was about homage to an old friend (sometimes rival) and collaborator. I agree with You completely, Fil. Eric was even echoing George’s slide techniques, which is a neat trick to do without a slide. I enjoy and adore Your commentary, Fil. Your deep and heartfelt love of music is evident in everything You do.
You do know that Clapton played the solo on the original Beatles song, right? He was playing it pretty much exactly how it sounded on the White Album, except the recording was backwards tracked where he played the solo and then fed it backwards into the song (I know what I’m talking about 😂, just not familiar with the proper terminology)
Great, Great video FIL… as always, love what you do, and your commentary is (as always) spot on. Others in the video of note who you didn’t mention are George Martin on the tambourine, Billy Preston (though he was only seen in about 1 second I think because of his on-stage location out of easy camera reach) playing the Hammond Organ (which you can hear). Others were not as well known, I wouldn’t bore you with details, except one of the drummer is Jim Keltner who was a session musician who played on recordings for each of the Fab Four, Elton John, and Bob Dylan. I don’t think Ringo could have held an ensemble that large together by himself
Still get chills after seeing this so many times!! Got to see it on the big screen here in NJ....wow! Such a beautiful tribute for such a beautiful man. Thank you for this one...
“These are players who came from a generation where they didn’t care about the money, they were just making music… that’s what it’s all about. That’s kind of the backbone of everything they do is a love for music.” Bravo Fil !!!!
This concert was shown in a small number of major US cities just prior to the DVD release and I tell you, I promise you... during this number there wasn't a dry eye in the house... and during the closing very gentle little number "I'll See You In My Dreams" done by George's hero Joe Brown, I'll confess that I just sat in my seat crying. Six foot 220 pound grown man crying like a child. As were each of my friends. Love you George.
Reminds me of 1985 Carl Perkins featuring George, Eric, and Ringo. Plus many other great artists/musicians. You have got to check it out. George Harrison had a lot of love for Perkins!
Watched this again since your analyses are so human, I needed kind words about music I love. Eric was invited in for the recording this at Abbey Roads since George felt his songs weren't getting the attention they deserved from Lennon and McCarthey, as well as George Martin. This whole concert was special.
Eric has always said “The most important thing is to listen to the band” then I would add to that “to find your place in there with the band ( as you solo) and Eric does that brilliantly .
This one is very memorable! The obvious amazing, melodic, in-the-pocket guitar playing by EC aside, I love to watch Ringo’s drumming technique...he kinda just swings the sticks like a couple of maestro’s batons instead of just pounding on the kit...stylish and musical at the same time! 🙂🎼🎸
I just absolutely love listening to Eric Clapton his playing is so smooth and easy listening. Another musician that can sing and play. Does anybody know if Eric Clapton has been knighted?
everybody talks about the prince solo. yeah its great, but this is the best guitar solo ive ever head. so much emotion and perfect notes. Clapton is the G.O.A.T
I cried. I loved George. You are so right about this being a great tribute to George. I just saw this so you will probably not see this. You can tell it has been years you are much more subdued.
As always, Fil, you have hit the nail squarely on the head. This concert was all about love. I can never watch the video dry-eyed, especially when Eric sings "Beware of Darkness"
Good comments Fil. Eric and many others were all peers of George. A lovely tribute to George and his songs. I have the DVD. Very Touching when "Ill See You in MY Dreams" and the ukulele concludes the concert.
The concert for George is my favorite live music video of all time. The playing and singing was all top notch and it was filmed and recorded beautifully.
The whole concert is incredible. The band was just cooking on this song. You've got all those great guitarists, Paul, Ringo, Billy Preston on organ... total package. They could have taken this jam out for hours.
Eric is absolutely one of the all time greats. Good point Fil regarding how Eric and the others seem to be there for the correct reasons. To pay tribute to George. And what a classic "guitar song"!! Along with Little Wing, Stairway and others WMGGW is just a great "desert island" guitar song. The Brits produced Soooooo many outstanding guitarists in such a short time period. It was like the Nazi blitzkrieg from maybe 1964-70. There was George, Keef, Eric, Jeff Beck, The Davies, Pete, Page, Gilmour, Ronnie Wood, Mick Taylor and several I'm not thinking of at the moment. Brian Jones, Brian May, Iommi... anyway I'm getting off subject. Another good analysis Fil!
This is one of my favourite live music videos . The whole concert was brilliantly put together by Eric Clapton. He also played this song on The Beatles original recording. Musical heaven!!
You are right. Nice video for watching. I’m a súper fan of The Beatles, specially of Sir Macca. But I love so much the sound of George’s guitar. Thanks.
A wonderful tribute song and show. Everyone is a legend by him self and they left their egos at the door to concentrate on paying tribute to george. Amazing guitar work by clapton!
The Beatles were the greatest band ever, and poor George was kind of overshadowed by the best song writing team EVER! George wrote some true classics himself though. Saw them on Ed Sullivan the first time they came to America, and love them to this day. Yeah, yeah, yeah! Fil how about covering the fantastic duo from Iron Maiden Neil Smith-Dave Murray, and a UK great, Vivian Campbell?
all things must pass, dark horse and 33 n1third love these albums it's well worth immersing oneself in Harrisons post Beatles work all things must pass was a3disk set sides 5n6 are jams lots of Clapton and Georges slide guitar is so unique it has to be genius
I love this song, one of my favorite songs and my favorite song by The Beatles. This song was written in 1968, yet it sounds as if it could have been yesterday - timeless 50+ years later.
Did anyone notice that Eric forgot a line ? I don't know why you were diverted ….you were perverted too ! I love Eric guitar playing and vocals but I would have loved to hear Paul singing this and Eric playing it .
When I first saw this & George's induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, both brought tears to my eyes (same when I've seen Jason Bonham filling in for his dad). It's so touching to see Dhani playing with his father's close friends. Not to mention Dhani looks SO MUCH like George!❤️ The entire group gives it everything they have with zero egos involved; it's just a phenomenal tribute to George, a jam of friends & peers gathered to celebrate the life of someone they loved & admired... ❤️
George has always been my favorite Beatle. Such an emotional tribute. You mentioned Prince, I remember when he was showing off he fell off the stage! I have watched the Concert for George at least 10 times and it makes me cry every time.. He was such a dear person. Thanks, Fil.
One of the best tunes ever put down. Great tribute to George - perfect. Some of the best work Eric has done live and from the White Album studio track. Thanks Fil.
There is an old video with George and Eric just jamming along to this song. I showed to my son who plays the guitar but is not a fan. He really enjoyed it and he said just my looking at them that they were so tuned to each others feelings.
Thank you Phil for your observation on this cover , I have lost count on how many times I have watched this cover and each time get moved by Eric weeping guitar solo and seeing my music idol on piano ,Jeff Lynne ,Ringo and nor to forget Billy Preston on keyboard which we can hear in the back ground ,and so many other talented musicians that are present chipping in ……...George such a wonderful soul , I love both Paul and George ,they are irreplaceable .
Hey Fil, I'm sure you're aware that Clapton played the solo's on the original studio version of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" also. While you're on the subject of George, attached here is a clip of the late great Peter Ham with Badfinger. George was into the production of Badfinger early on and played the harmony slide with Pete on "Day After Day". Pete was a very underrated guitarist whom George admired for his skills on guitar and vocals. George actually gave Pete his SG that he used on Sgt. Pepper. Pete and Tom had so much talent and wrote such a timeless hit in " Without You" that was recorded by so many after they wrote, the biggest being Harry Nilson version. Not to mention rockers like No Matter What, Day After Day. Tragic that Pete and Tom both commited suicide after being fleeced by a scumbag manager that robbed them blind. The only member who is still living is Joey Molland whom I got to meet and see this past May. Back in 1970 my future wife, who was 17 at the time got the chance to see Badfinger on their first American tour and met Pete after the show. She and her friends went to an after show party and went to see the band the 2 nights later in another town. She said Pete was a total gentleman as she was his date the two nights and never tried to put on any rock star cheap moves. We have many of photo's of that night in 1970 with my wife and Pete and all the boys. A photo of her and Pete was used in a documentary made many years later about the tragic fate of Badfinger. Just a little history. This is Pete ripping up some wah voiced slide straight into a Fender Super Reverb on the Midnight Special. Joey sings lead and Tom just rips up some blues screaming at the end. Enjoy ruclips.net/video/G8sodjvkNBs/видео.html
The story of Eric & George's friendship is so interesting and complex. They loved each other like brothers but were super-competitive, which complicated their lives considerably when they both wound up in love with the same woman, Patty Boyd. George was married to her when Eric fell for her. Both men wrote some of their most iconic songs inspired by her, most famously, Clapton's "Layla," his ode to his then-unrequited love for Patty. Eric finally convinced Patty to divorce George & marry him telling her George would always put music before her. Strangely, the Harrison divorce was amicable & George & Eric stayed on good terms, though I'm guessing emotions ran deep. George sometimes jokingly called Eric " my husband-in-law. "
I think your comment about playing to the track for Clapton is really important. I think it is the heart of his relationship with George Harrison. I believe their musical connection was driven by this perspective of guitar playing. To me, it also speaks to Ringo's drumming for the Beatles. How many songs across how many bands can one name songs based solely on the drumming track? No one could pull off that unique quality of fitting into a song drummer-wise like Ringo. And in the end...it's probably why the Beatles were the Beatles...
I've always thought the Prince solo for this at the Rock and Roll HOF was simultaneously great and awful. Technically its a very nice solo and I like the sound. But he was there to honor the most "sit in the song and play what's needed" guitarist ever. An ostentatious solo was out of place in that moment.
This is a Beatles toon, written by George, but Eric actually played it on the original album. George came and got him and took him to the studio. Excellent tone.
The Concert For George was stellar! I agree, no egos here, and great music. Loved seeing Dhani, too (George was my favorite Beatle and Dhani sure looks like him). Another wonderful, thoughtful analysis- thanks, Fil! ROCK!
This gets overshadowed by the more flamboyant Prince solo, but you nail it when you call this a tribute to a best friend, bandmate and father rather than an opportunity to showcase one's own style. Bless them - they got this right.
Hey Fil, You're right it is a tribute. It's called. "Concert for George" Put on by his wife and son... A year after George sadly passed... Eric was the musical director!! Lol even Tom Hanks joins in to sing a song with the Monty python boys!! Even Clapton plays an acoustic solo with Indian classical musician master Ravi Shankar on "Apran" conducted by George's wife... Amazing...
Great choice Fil that was an amazing rendition that is true to the original version. It’s sad that George was not allowed more songs on Beatles albums, he was a musician and songwriter!!! Thanks Fil 👍🏻
Eric and George are both great all around Guitarist . That India style timing George uses in "Here comes the sun" is something else, very cool . P.s., My guitar sings, cries, hollers and annoys the shit out of my neighbors :D
FIL, THANK YOU for this reaction, I LIKE what you said about PRINCE! I DID NOT CARE for Prince's performance at George's Rock Hall Performance at all. I thought it was way over the top and SOOOOO not George. He sure did make it ALL about HIM...I saw a LOT of other reactors do this one, and they just gushed on and on about Prince and how FANTASTIC he was, yada yada yada. NO ONE even mentioned that it was George's song or what this event was for, they knew it was the Rock Hall but that was it. I don't know, it made me angry. After that I felt that Prince had one big ego there and I don't know if he is always like that, but I thought it was a slap in the face to George AND Eric who was also there and played through the song until the long solo at the end when Prince took over. (DID YOU NOTICE GARY BROOKER from PROCAL HARUM on the other piano, on the left of the screen?) Now HE'S gone too....sad.
Great job Fil. This is why I like your channel and your stuff. This was an amazing concert, and you recognize the fact. Also glad you mentioned the song. George was a really underrated songwriter and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" is by far the best Beatles lyric of them all, and it is maybe their best song overall. Of course I love Eric. You mentioned his vibrato which is out of this world, and the soulfulness of his playing here is amazing. Glad you contrasted it with the live Prince version where he was just showing off and putting himself above everyone else on the stage, and as you referred to had his "hidden agenda," which was to show everyone how great he supposedly is. This is what separates Clapton from the guys like Prince who are simply technically good but have zero soul in their playing.
I love your comments and the choice of music! It brings back awesome memories and you are always smiling at highlights of the video. I enjoy them very much! We're losing them one by one now and it's heartbreaking. Their music will never die. My sons 37 and 30 are into it. It seems timeless. Do you have a favorite guitarist? It would be interesting to know what you think of Trey of Phish.
This was REAL beautiful. He'd like this. Sounds like all 'George ways' are employed here! Just realized how much i miss his voice. (Despite talk that they 'never played together again' i think the fab four might've jammed at 'Eric's' wedding in seventies. Thank you taking my mind off 'things' brthr!!!
In the late 70s I was in "Rockin Robin" guitar shop in Houston and heard a very familiar sound coming from a back room. I peeked through the curtain in the doorway and sure enough...Clapton was checking out guitars. Suddenly a hand was on my shoulder and the shop owner said "Yeah, it's him. Please give him some privacy".
Hello Phil and thanks for the video. I grew up with Eric Clapton being 6 years his junior and big fan. The story is George asked Eric to perform the solo for the record. I have heard the original and many of Eric’s covers of the song. The first solo Eric plays here is the first time I have heard him duplicate the original record’s solo nearly note for note. He finishes soloing in typical Clapton style. I noted that Dani approached Eric, placing his hand on Eric’s shoulder seems to be acknowledging Eric’s performance. I have to think this was due to Eric’s note for note cover of the original. An emotional tribute to his friend, George. A truly epic performance by all!
Very nice performance. For me, especially nice is way, and consequently sound, of bending strings by Eric Claprton. Very subtle and perfectly matching the whole melody.
Beautiful - never seen this one before... I LOVE GEORGE HARRISON and this is my favorite song of his... I did see the one with Prince and thought the same as you said - he had an agenda and was over the top... he was there for himself and not for George. Thanks for this Fil, I never knew about it before seeing it here.
I have noticed in videos, where most of these musicians get together - in concert with Carl Perkins, for example, they share, rather than trying to out do each other. A lot of Buddy Guy's shows are like that
I like your comment about Clapton being a bit over the top, in the Prince version, is so fresh, honest. There's a candor in 2018 I'm not sure you allow today. To be sure I'm a fan of your analysis vids, I learn a good deal. So just grist for the mill in making that observation. David Gilmore and Eric ... both make the instrument sing.
Hey Fil! Sitting here and turned on the telly to see the Crossroads Guitar Festival. Shock! Keith Richards and Slow Hand playing the Blues together!!! See if you can find it!!
My favorite Beatle George & I must agree when I saw the tribute with Prince I thought, it's not about you, it's about George. Having Paul, Ringo & Dhani there was so special. And of course Eric is a Master! Ty I loved this!🤘🎵✌
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought Prince's solo in that other version of the tune wasn't all that. TBH I thought it was kind of cliche-laden and really NOT all that great, unlike apparently nearly everyone else.
The concert for George was spectacular. Really shows how he influenced many generations of artists
👍
One of the most impressive concerts ever filmed the whole thing is perfection.
👍
Got this on DVD - probably the most emotional concert I have ever seen. Joe Brown's "I'll see you in my dreams" always tears me up. So many gifted musicians sharing their love for George.
Amen.

But this solo is so iconic, so I suppose he had to. Or felt it was the right thing to do.
Goonies rock!
Yeah it was cool to keep it so authentic to his original take, He never over plays.
With the tremendous ego Eric has (deservedly so) it shows his 100% respect and love for George to have kept it so pure. I believe Eric wanted this concert to be the best possible, even if he took a back seat, so to speak. Gives me chills.
that's why his nickname was 'slowhand'
I've seen him live several times. A legit Guitar God!
What an amazing tribute, seeing George’s son; so bittersweet. Eric played his heart out...😢
Yeah the likeness to his father is crazy!
If you watch the whole concert there are loads of times when the more senior players look after Dhani emotionally, but at the end of this song Dhani checks that Eric is ok.....so moving.....
@@wingsofpegasus And Dhani's voice is just like his Dad's! The DNA is unmistakable!!!

Yeah the ultimate super band!

This touches the most tender part of my heart -,captures the beauty of George and how deeply he was loved
I've always loved Eric, he just stands and plays, no fuss , so much talent and always a wonderful time. Just the best.
George plays this like every guitar players anthem. Every note means something
Classic song from a class guy.

I bought the DVD of the Concert for George as soon as it became available in 2002. George is sorely missed.

No problem!

Thanks.
No problem!
A wonderful tribute song and show. Everyone is a legend by him self and they left their egos at the door to concentrate on paying tribute to george. Amazing guitar work by clapton!
👍
This was such an emotional concert. I saw this in the theater when it came out, and you could hear people sobbing (myself included) when it was over.
Saw this on TV. Amazing stuff. Grew up.in this era of Beatles and then their solo.careers....and Eric Clapton
Cool!
I'm off, right now, to buy the blu-ray reissue - thanks for reminding me!
I love Horse To Water & My Sweet Lord from this show.
Cool!
Mr Clapton is a class act he played it like Harrison hence the tribute Well done Fil
Most of the musician there were playing with George in the past from drummer to backup vocalist. What an arrangement
Thanks for the suggestion!
all things must pass, dark horse and 33 n1third love these albums it's well worth immersing oneself in Harrisons post Beatles work all things must pass was a3disk set sides 5n6 are jams lots of Clapton and Georges slide guitar is so unique it has to be genius
👍
I love this song, one of my favorite songs and my favorite song by The Beatles. This song was written in 1968, yet it sounds as if it could have been yesterday - timeless 50+ years later.
Love Clapton's playing and voice ... complete package.
👍
Did anyone notice that Eric forgot a line ? I don't know why you were diverted ….you were perverted too ! I love Eric guitar playing and vocals but I would have loved to hear Paul singing this and Eric playing it .
When I first saw this & George's induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, both brought tears to my eyes (same when I've seen Jason Bonham filling in for his dad).
It's so touching to see Dhani playing with his father's close friends. Not to mention Dhani looks SO MUCH like George!❤️
The entire group gives it everything they have with zero egos involved; it's just a phenomenal tribute to George, a jam of friends & peers gathered to celebrate the life of someone they loved & admired...
Thanks Fil.
Great video! Sounded awesome!👍😎🎸🎶
Cool!
Totally magnificent. Can't imagine a better tribute concert.
Love this concert thanks Phil ✌️
Amen!
Thank you Fil for your amazing analysis, Eric is so great on this. He has no equal, .Easy to listen to always.
Cool! Thanks for the link!
The line of drum players - fantastic!!! Ringo the most elegant one!!! 🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁
Great vid mate. I hadn’t seen this performance before. A fitting tribute to a wonderful musician and person
Thanks, amen.
The song is just beautiful. I wonder what George Harrison’s son was feeling. Can’t imagine. So bittersweet ❤️
Hello fil ..! Nostalgia..! I see. Eric Clapton..at thé marquee...in London...!!thanks..and. for.you.kiss from France
😘
My mom's favorite Beatles track! Beautifully done!
Amen!
Such an enjoyable ride for my ears and my soul♡
👍
Great video. As usual spot on commentary .That generation was incrediable as for musicallity and star power .Beatles nuff said.
Thanks!
The Concert For George was stellar! I agree, no egos here, and great music. Loved seeing Dhani, too (George was my favorite Beatle and Dhani sure looks like him). Another wonderful, thoughtful analysis- thanks, Fil! ROCK!
🎸🤘 great video
george would be very proud
my guitar 🎼 my guitar 🎼
my guitar 🎼 just sweet song 🤘👍🎸🎼🎵🎼🎵🎼🎵🎼
👍
Best of the best slowhand at his greatest
This gets overshadowed by the more flamboyant Prince solo, but you nail it when you call this a tribute to a best friend, bandmate and father rather than an opportunity to showcase one's own style. Bless them - they got this right.
Hey Fil, You're right it is a tribute.
It's called. "Concert for George"
Put on by his wife and son...
A year after George sadly passed...
Eric was the musical director!!
Lol even Tom Hanks joins in to sing a song with the Monty python boys!!
Even Clapton plays an acoustic solo with Indian classical musician master Ravi Shankar on "Apran" conducted by George's wife...
Amazing...
Yeah this had a great feel to it!
Great choice Fil that was an amazing rendition that is true to the original version. It’s sad that George was not allowed more songs on Beatles albums, he was a musician and songwriter!!! Thanks Fil 👍🏻
No problem!
Eric and George are both great all around Guitarist . That India style timing George uses in "Here comes the sun" is something else, very cool . P.s., My guitar sings, cries, hollers and annoys the shit out of my neighbors :D
Yeah he wrote some cool songs!
Dang..was all my guitar weeps from yesterday...now , I gots another day to look at my room and see it needs sweeping...gju
Yeah right... Easy Life happy life
😂
I love your comments and the choice of music! It brings back awesome memories and you are always smiling at highlights of the video. I enjoy them very much! We're losing them one by one now and it's heartbreaking. Their music will never die. My sons 37 and 30 are into it. It seems timeless. Do you have a favorite guitarist? It would be interesting to know what you think of Trey of Phish.
Love their version of My sweet lord
Fil, put tears in my eyes- - -thanks
Unos de los mejores conciertos de la historia del Rock jamas visto. My Sweet George ❤️❤️❤️
No problem!
Haha awesome!
👍
Very nice performance. For me, especially nice is way, and consequently sound, of bending strings by Eric Claprton. Very subtle and perfectly matching the whole melody.
👍
Beautiful - never seen this one before... I LOVE GEORGE HARRISON and this is my favorite song of his... I did see the one with Prince and thought the same as you said - he had an agenda and was over the top... he was there for himself and not for George. Thanks for this Fil, I never knew about it before seeing it here.
Later in life Eric had a great ability to capture the spirit of other artists His JJ Cale tribute and performances were spot on.
Thanks!
My favorite Beatle George & I must agree when I saw the tribute with Prince I thought, it's not about you, it's about George. Having Paul, Ringo & Dhani there was so special. And of course Eric is a Master! Ty I loved this!🤘🎵✌
When your guitar gently weeps ❤️
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought Prince's solo in that other version of the tune wasn't all that. TBH I thought it was kind of cliche-laden and really NOT all that great, unlike apparently nearly everyone else.
