The Ryobi 2300 PSI 1.2 GPM Electric Brushless Pressure Washer is a great pressure washer for anyone who wants to have something that is easy to use and store. Most will not complain about the stiff hose or lack of swivels, but to me, those items would make this unit a dream to use. Sometimes it is the little things that make a tool a joy to use.
Other than getting the hose connector turned around (watch out for that one), the machine is simple to put together and use ruclips.net/user/postUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP . And very nice, too. I'm surprised at the power-it's more than we'll ever need, and we've not even used the most powerful setting yet.I've cleaned off a dirty concrete porch to get it ready for sealing, started to clean siding, and I know this pressure washer will be terrific for cleaning tools this fall. The only issue we had is we had turned around the hose connector, and it leaked. Once it was on correctly, though, we had no problems with the connection. Just remember that the end with the green knob goes towards the hose. It's obvious now what we did wrong, but not necessarily obvious at the time.
Great machine. Owned and used for three years. If it stops working just exchange out the capacitors and/or the GFCI plug.
Great product. I thought we would break it the first year, but 3 years later going strong! Great video!
Got this exact unit for father's day recently. Plenty of constant power for an electric, and a lot quieter then what I was expecting. Quality materials (more metal than plastics when compared to other upper tier electrics) and very little assembly out of the box. I also got the surface cleaner attachment designed for this unit, and it also worked flawlessly.
Only complaint is the hose like you mentioned. I will definitely try out those swivel connects and look at a 50' or 100' replacement. I would say the power cord was shorter then I liked, but a longer hose can fix that issue, as well.
(EDIT) Actually, I do have one other complaint: The wand 'holster' could use a redesign. It just doesn't hold the wand as securely as I'd want. A light bump will knock it out place.
I got the quick disconnects and swivels that you posted. Amazing upgrade to my pressure washer game. Swivel on both ends and practically never kink. Also recommend some plumbers tape for the threads. Thanks guys!
If I buy the swivel kit do I still need the separate swivel listed. Thanks.
I bought this unit, so far I love. I will change the hose out and add the quick disconnects. That was my biggest and only dislike. Thanks for the review!
I do like Electric for the same reasons you said don't have to worry about the fuel mixtures storing it keep up the great work keep it going dudes
Thanks Bud.
Didn't realize you could get so much power out of the electric version. That would easily handle the siding on my house.. which needs a clean'n. Great review!
It has the pressure to clean, but the GPM limit the speed you are cleaning. It takes a little longer with an electric.
@@WorkshopAddict If we're only considering home use, I only need to spray off my siding once a year, so I guess it wouldn't bother me as much.
@@ToolShow pending the size of your home and how long you are willing to power wash it. Sunday evening I will post a video on the wand you see in this video and the difference between the electric and small glass pw is amazing.
@@WorkshopAddict Thanks! I'll keep an eye out for it!
I got the 2000 psi Ryobi model a few months ago. I had an old cheap (loud) 1800 psi model with a proprietary hose that would not work with the extension pole I needed to clean my siding. I considered this model, but didn’t think I needed the extra pressure for the price difference. I don’t want the responsibility for the care and feeding of an infrequently used gasoline engine. I am happy with the one I got for my needs. I just ordered the quick connects, longer hose and multi-tip tool based on your recommendations.
One thing I experienced, and I don’t know if it is related: I was pressure washing while my central AC was running, and seem to have blown the AC fuse. It was an old fuse, so I just replaced it. Not certain it was related, but I think I’ll turn off my AC while I use my pressure washer in the future. I wonder if it may have caused a surge that may have pushed my old fuse a little too far. Anyone else ever experience that?
Always turn off your AC while working with water around it. The water will get in the motor and cause issues.
WorkshopAddict good advice for sure. In this case I was cleaning a back patio which is set well away from my house. There shouldn’t have been any potential for water interaction with wires.
Great, thanks for the update. Just purchase at Home Depot for 299.00. Thanks again.
Bryant Pearson - how is it working out for you? Do you use it for cleaning concrete patios/driveways? Thanks.
Bought one at an auction. Ran for about 2 minutes. Found out the power tip was not working. All the others work fine a great little machine.
Best video I saw so far. So over and done messing with and maintaining my 3000 PSI Ryobi gas Pressure washer. CRAPPY Carb Honda !!! 4 yrs old and rebuilt $150 last year ! Will not start today.
Q) Hose and water supply not an issue but how long is the electrical cable > I have heard you should not use extension cords . 15 ft electrical ext + 20 ft hose is 35 ft and so not much use around a big home > SO you say get a 50ft hose,,,,, but a 50ft extension cord also ??? Also liked the extended wand you showed for up high, what make and model was that ?
Just right for boat and auto cleaning. I have around 50 hours on this with no issues. I use a filter and always lube the pump.
Nice little setup so far.
Thank you, I just bought this for the siding on my house. I want to try it on the trek deck as well.
@@Katwoman4318 pump oil is the key to any pressure washer lasting. Never let it set up after use with out oil pumped through it.
Larry Sigers Thank you because I just bought this and I’m hoping it’ll do the job.
I’m definitely getting this unit and performing the upgrades.
Any idea how this model compares to the new GreenWorks brushless 3000 psi model? I'm a Ryobi fan myself, but if the GreenWorks one really puts out 3000 psi then thats huge!...I'd love to see a review on that!
Nice review. It looks like a nice unit. I wish manufacturers wouldn't bolt on the soap tank as it makes it difficult to remove for cleaning.
I agree, but this one is easy to pull the hose off in the back and stick a running hose in it to clean it out.
Mine didn't come with a tank, just a long tube to stick in a container.
I wish it did come with a tank.
A wave to my fellow corvette man.
I really appreciate your honesty opinion. Keep up the good work!
Not enough power for me, but a pretty nice unit just the same.
Good review guys,
Good for washing outdoor furniture and pool toys.
Great video! I've never owned a pressure washer before so I'm doing research. This machine looks terrific. Thanks for the tip about getting a longer hose and for putting the links in!
Love the channel 👍, solid review
Great video, i really enjoy this pressure washer. Easy to use. Plus the kids and wife could help out. Highly recommend
Just picked one up for around the house use..
Looks like Ryobi raised the price to $299. One thing I do like about the Ryobi electric pressure washers is that they do not flat out lie about the specs the way that Greenworks does. Ryobi claims, "Performance Tested and Rated in Accordance with PWMA Standards." Greenworks measures their GPM at one hundred (100) PSI, what a joke! I also hate the soft start on Greenworks' most powerful models, there is about a 2-3 second delay, and it seems much longer if you are on and off the trigger.
A couple of corrections on this Ryobi model: the cord is 35 feet long and the hose is 25 feet.
Just bought and instructions say not to use that pressure head (in the first minute of the video) on anything but brick and concrete.
I bought this to clean my manufactured home and stairs, perhaps outdoor carpet.
I looked on home depots website for this washer and I see another Ryobi electric pressure washer with 2,000 psi and 1.2 for $179. The one you're reviewing in the video is $279. Does the 300 psi make a big difference? I figured I can do the same upgrades you recommend in this video to the 2000 psi one
300 PSI is a big difference, but it might not be noticeable. Some of the reason they are less money is because of the less quality hoses and wands and if you plan to upgrade that stuff, then no issue.
just bought one at a goodwill for 15 bucks. only thing wrong is the gun leaks which after reviews i see it is a common issue. so just ordered a new gun so just waiting to try it out now.
That extendable pole at the Beginning is so cool
Video on that will be out tonight.
@@WorkshopAddict You guys not going to test the Northstar 1573021? It is 5 horsepower electric model.
Hi from Michigan: I noticed your Michigan License Plate. Well done demo. I have a black walnut tree in my backyard and when the walnuts hit the patio pavers they leave a brown stain. Do you think that a power washer can remove brown stains from my patio pavers. Thanks
• Cheers from The Detroit & Mackinac Railway 🚂
I think it will remove it, bit it will be slow. It is a good pressure washer for electric, but a small gas would do what you want so much faster. If time is not an issue, try it. It does have a 30 day return policy.
@@WorkshopAddict Thanks for the tip. Gary 🚂
Can I switch between water only and water+soap?? Thank You!
Nice video.... Hi from Puerto Rico ✌🇵🇷
Thanks!! 👍
Mine started acting up.
After less than ten minutes seems like after it’s warmed up it loses pressure. Also motor mikes a higher pitch noise. I’ve already cleaned nozzles. Thinking it’s toast…
Well, after watching several of your videos, I won't be buying an electric pressure washer...the cheaper ones appear to be absolute crap, not to mention disposable according to all the comments saying how they bought this or that electric washer & used it a few times & it quit working...even this one, at $279, requires some upgrades to get the most out of it...you're already only a few dollars under a gas powered washer that's ready to go, so if you have to turn around & buy upgrades, why not just spring for the gas powered washer & be done with it? I think that's what I'm gonna do...no electrocution risk either, which has been a concern of mine...water & electricity, not good bedfellows...
Just bought this, but I'm not sure if I should return it. I'm worried it would be too powerful to us eon my car's paint, is that true? Also is the 1.2 gpm enough for a foam cannon? Considering the sunjoe 3000x instead
This will be fine for a car. It is almost not powerful enough for a foam cannon and is more powerful than the sunjoe 3,000x. Sunjoe lies about specs. Try the foam cannon out. Keep it nice and you can always return it.
My first day using SunJoe 3000 broke and electrical smoke came out of it. It stopped pressuring. Returning to amazon. Its not built for medium duty.
Love the channel. Reference it often. I was looking for the video you mention on "How to Build the best electric Pressure Washer" and can not find it. Is that still in the works?
I have parts in the description of this video and parts in the dewalt 2400 psi pressure washer to make these the best they can be. I do not have a video on how to do it as it is just simple stuff.
I bought one of these and it only worked for me about 5 or 6 times and then it started cutting off after I would run it for a few minutes never could figure out what the problem was and I was too long after the date to take it back so I just ended up having to eat the 300
So is this the electric pressure washer you’d recommend under $300 or is there something else you’ve reviewed that you liked better?
We really liked the Greenworks elite as it had a lot of the things this one needs for small upgrades, but it is impossible to find. So sometimes the best one is the easy one to find and make yours.
@@WorkshopAddict It seems finding greenworks anything is hard to find. No one locally sells the 80v stuff. And I really don't like Amazon at all.
@@sprockkets would I just search Greenworks Elite pressure washer? The Greenworks Pro is easily found on Lowes but it's probably not the same
@@busared06 Could be. Greenworks could just make it easy and sell it on their own store. Problem is most of their store is out of stock...
Just picked one of these up at a liquidators for $90. Didn't come with the handle assembly but works fine otherwise. Hopefully Ryobi can get me one.
Very good review! I've been using my neighbor's Ryobi pressure washer and it's absolutely amazing. So much so that I'm going to get my own!
Thanks to your video, I'm also going to get these upgrades such as the 50ft hose, the 6-in-1 adapter, and that adapter set with the quick disconnects. The stiffness of the hose has indeed been the most annoying part.
This pressure washer is extremely easy to use and is in fact quite fun to use as well! It's definitely not that loud either.
If you absolutely have to go electric, this is the one to get. Anything lesser isn't worth your time. I paid a whole $100 for mine and it's worth it. Just temper your expectations and if you need more power look for gas power.
Thank you for the Amazon links
Have you seen the Greenworks twin to this one? I got a good deal on one...bought it against my better judgement. It turned out to be great so far. Good vid.
Yes, we love that one!

@Throw Stone GPW2300 brushless
Thanks for the video. As a shop guy, would you pick between this or a higher psi gas unit? Mostly we'd use it for siding, concrete, car washing. PS love the landscaping around the egress!
Go bigger, bit going larger means going gas. There is nothing 110v with more power
thank you for the great review.
the plastic soap nozzles are trash, the black soap nozzles last longer!! i have this ryobi pressure washer and i love it! i recently bought the 35 ft ryobi hose with the quick 1/4 inch quick connect and it helps!!
I'm planing to buy this one. But also, I'll be using it to clean my drains with a sewer jetter kit. Have you use it to clean the drains? If you do, which jetter kit would work with this model. Thanks.
Great video workshop
Great review, just what I was looking for. I've been looking at that Ryobi RY142300 but also noticed a 2000 PSI Ryobi RY141900 at my local HD. Other than being 300 PSI less, I'm not seeing any differences and it's $100 cheaper. Have you looked at that 2000 PSI Ryobi? Is that 2300 PSI version worth the extra $100? Thanks!
When u upgrade to quick connect, do they automatically have a swivel built-in?
For the most part. The QDs do swivel, but not freely under pressure. Much better than a screw in will swivel.
@@WorkshopAddict I just ordered them last night and a foam Cannon for my Ryobi 2300. Subitup a lil bit thanks for the info.
@@WorkshopAddict Does the Ryobi shut off after you release the trigger cuz my doesn't still kinda loud still a good unit.
@@giomtzz956 The new models seem not to shut down per what we are seeing. It should shut down, or at least it did on last year's model. I am unsure if this is a running change or an adjustment issue.
Ok I have this unit and I’ve used a couple different concrete cleaner attachments and they all barely spin by the end of day .. is this because the 25 ft ryobi hose isn’t that great ? If i try VG vupgrade to the 3/8 hose do u think getting more water will help the disk spin better ? I figured the smaller hose would create more pressure
Would you consider this to be the best electric power washer you have seen so far or how would it rank?
For its price range, I would rate this #2 behind the higher end Greenworks models
@@WorkshopAddict Yes sir, I see Lowe's has a Greenworks 2300 and 2700. I doubt I really need the 2700 and the Greenworks 2300 does have 2.3 GPM compared to the Ryobi 2300 @ 1.2 GPM. You think the GW's 2300 would be better possibly or is the GPM that much of a big deal?
@@whompmaster GPM is a huge deal! That is how fast you can clean items. I would go with the highest GPM you could find.
I wonder how this 2300 Ryobi compares to the Greenworks 2700, as they both are brushless and both operate pump constant on. Kinda makes me wonder if Greenworks 2700psi rating is overstated a bit and not actually more powerful by an extra 400psi than the Ryobi?
New follower, nice video. Just bought the same unit. Congrats on your channels success. We are just getting started. Thanks. N
I bought the hose you linked and the quick connects you linked but the fittings aren't enough to connect it to the unit.
busared06 Same here. Something isn’t right about the setup.
This is concerning. Any updates here?
I ordered 6 different quick connect F-to-F styles.. hopefully one of them will work! As a work around for now, I've attached the stock Ryobi hose between the wand and the nicer hose to make the connections "fit". It worked well for me as my connectors are coming in!

It will take off peeling paint, but hard to say what it would do to the wood. How rotten is the wood?
It won’t do nothing. It’s garbage. Might as well use the kitchen sprayer……
Thanks for the video. Any suggestions for an wand extender that would work great for this unit? I’m looking to clean my townhome siding. Amazon? Home Depot?
Hello Brian .
I get on of those. but the motor of the electric power washer 2300 psi not start. Any recommendation. i test in differ connection point as they recommend in the manual.

Very much appreciate the review!! I see both the 50 ft hose w/ QD and the Quick Disconnect and Swivels recommended. Would I need to buy both to make it work... or will the 50 foot hose w/ QD alone work?
You need both unfortunately.
WorkshopAddict
Much appreciated. I bought the pressure washer and absolutely love it so far. That said, I absolutely see the reason behind your recommendation for this change! :)
Could you explain what would I use Pressure Washer Wand for if I also bought Twinkle Star Pressure Washer Adapter Set, please?
It seems the set covers it all, correct?
@workshopaddict I am also torn between the GW 2300 and this Ryobi.... it seems the Ryobi is more robust and has the on demand water ( no soft start) ... as everyone states GW numbers are slightly inflated as the GPM @ 2.3 is with the soap dispenser.... seems like these are neck and neck... which has better quality and customer service?
Excellent video, thanks for the info.
I can’t find the pressure washer cleaners you mentioned to maintain this unit. Unless The ones I find all over Amazon are the correct ones. They seem to be for the house though and not the pressure washer itself
Are you talking about the pump saver to spray into the unit after use?
@@WorkshopAddict yeah, but I figured it out!

They are very comparable.
I love pressure washing, its so therapeutic, these are videos on the interweb etc. WELL DON'T BUY A GAS POWERED ANYTHING !
My 3100 psi Ryobi Gas powered is a pain in the @$$ to start. Broke the same wheels pull starting it and my Stucco has some unintended tattoos!
I suspect the problem using was this methanol Gas here in TX , even with stabil in there or draining last winter. Didn't know Ryobi had a 3 year warranty? Would have had the gas washer fixed instead of spending $150 last year, still hunting and running rough,, wheel broke.. oh mentioned that, it annoys me they still have the same weak ass wheel, probably make more profit on spares.
Gonna buy this electric. Slow ? yes, but the wife can use it (.. you see my point, it just gets better) !!?? Yup still $279.

At 33sec of the video, I guess you're saying you're going to make a video of how to build ourself a pressure washer. I would like to build my own high quality 115V electric pressure washer for cheaper then buying it a the store. Will I suffer and pressure loss going from 1/4" house to the 3/8" hose?
Not much, if any.
There is no pressure... where is the loader valve located on the RY142300... thanks,
If I’m using this for auto mobile detailing and I have the water supply as a storage water tank would I need an external pump or would this pull the water through?
As long as gravity would feed it, it will help to pull. I doubt it would pull it if gravity was not feeding up.

Looking for electric pressure washer to clean stone & mortar walkway and concrete drive plus clean porches (painted trim, solod stain on deck). How will this work on the stone and driveway? Dont want to spend days cleaning. Would a broom attachment help?
You said one sentence that stands out. You don't want to spend all day. If that is the case, you need a gas unit. This is the top end of 110 powered units. They simply cannot create more horse power to make more pressure. GPM is the cleaning speed. I would look for a 3,000 plus psi unit with 3 plus GPM.
Is the 2300 psi worth the money compare to the 1900 psi? Thanks
Has anyone noticed if there is a “soap on/off” switch to switch h between the blended and just straight water?
Someone mentioned about using a filter for this ryobi electric 2300psi. Do you have any filter recommendation Amazon link? Thanks
I see no reason to use a water filter for this unit.
I just picked one of these up today and I noticed that the motor doesn’t kick off when it’s not in use? I have to manually shut it off. Is this normal? It gets quieter but doesn’t shut off.
Wonder if they changed it. Someone else made the same comment.
Simpson has an electric model identical to this one. Are Simpson and Ryobi pressure washers made by the same company?
Unlikely since Simpson and Dewalt are the same, but possible.
Long story short, no. Simpson was a standalone group until 2006 until the FNA Group purchased them. Ryobi is manufactured by TTI (Techtronic Industries) which also makes Milwaukee, AEG, Homelite, Empire, Stiletto, Hoover, Hart, Oreck, Vax, Dirt Devil, and most recently RIGID products (which is why Ryobi Multi tools are compatible with RIGID jobmax tool heads). It is coincidental the Simpson and Ryobi power washers look similar.
Yeah, there's different brands that have the same machine as ryobi.
I think it's one manufacture, that mass produces same model, and companies just slap their name and model on it.
For example i bought the baja 1800 psi pressure washer at home depot and Ryobi has the same exact machine. I did find the baja on line with different model names and of course different colors. I don't think Ryobi makes some of their products.
I think you should mention the fact that it takes a little longer for it to start up when pulling the trigger. That could be annoying for some.
Edit: that was the greenworks brushless model.
Huh. This is something that I did not notice. Might be because I am used to electric pressure washers or the gas ones that idle down. Can you explain more about this for others reading the comments please.
@@WorkshopAddict my mistake, the greenworks one did that. This unit stays on all the time to counteract that issue.
Thanks for the review. Any chance you have plans to review the Dewalt DWPW2400? It would be interesting to get your thoughts on which is better, the Ryobi or this one, given that they are around the same price.
I have it on the list. I could work for months and not get caught up. I will do my best to do that one soon.
@@WorkshopAddict I can totally understand that. Thank you!
Oh, I don't think the dewalt ua brushless, that I think is one major difference, but i could be wrong.
@@WorkshopAddict I bought the Ryobi. Is this normal? I think it is, just thought I'd ask. Essentially, it seems to build pressure and then blow it out, and does so every minute or two. Video here: ruclips.net/video/_oUnjj-ocsU/видео.html
@@bobdelamater9353 So... That is a safety and I would not recommend running it when not in use. What is happening is the pump is pushing water and the water has no where to go and it gets hot. The water could get hot enough to heat the pump up and cause damage. It trips the valve and let's out the hot water and brings in cool water to cool the pump. Turn it off when not in use.
Hi what size tips do I need to get for this? 2.5 mm?
Can anyone confirm if the motor actually shuts off when you release the spray trigger? The video on the Home Depot website leads me to believe the motor runs constantly akin to a gas unit.
4:30 we talk about it. This unit turns off when you are not spraying. When you pull the trigger it turns on. I should have shown that better and earlier in the video.
I've been using one for the past week and yes it dies down when you release the trigger almost immediately.
Mine stays running. It changes pitch as its not spraying but 100% stays running. I hate that and unless I can change it I'm returning it. One main reasons I buy electric is when I stop spraying they turned off. Until this one. Someone help me understand is mine defective? Thanks
There is a loose soap tube...where does it connect?
Is this better than the katcher k7..?
Would you buy a reconditioned model?
good washer but the hose leaks sometimes pro ably due to stiff hoses.
Hi! Would you recommend this model to pressure wash an old oil stain on asphalt?
Sure, but I would start with a broom and some simple green first. The last thing you want to do is eat away asphalt.
You don't need a pressure washer. Cold water washers are useless on oil stains.
Are these good for car washes
How to fix oil leak?
Would this pressure washer be recommended for washing off old paint on a house??
Too small
2nd question - I have TopCast coating on my concrete driveway; any worry about using either the turbo nozzle or 15 degree on that?
Do not get closer than needed with the turbo or 0 degree. It will take that off and etch the concrete.

I’m looking for an inexpensive electric pressure washer with decent psi. I’m just starting out and going to be using it for side jobs. What’s your best recommendation?
I think you need to buy service. Buy from a place that will cover it when it breaks. Good and cheap don't mix well.
Well I was looking into the Ryobi 2300psi with 1.2 gpm. I was told not to go below 3000psi but that’s in my price range.
I also plan on getting a warranty on it
@@carlyrichardson2411 More reason to buy from the place with the best service. Is that Lowe's, THD, Ace? They all vary by location.
anything for work, minimum 4.0 gpm. Psi is not as important. See a chart for cleaning units you’ll realize quick.
Is there anything you would change on the Greenworks 2300 model? I'm trying to decide between it and the Ryobi 2300. You would choose the Greenworks? It's a bit less expensive. TIA
I would buy the Greenworks from a local place that allowed for a 30 day return and try it out. I have not used the 2300 GW yet, but I think it would be better than the Ryobi, but not much better.
@@WorkshopAddict Thank you for such a quick reply! Appreciate it and your video reviews!
At the beginning of the video, you were spraying closed to the roof of the house. What attachment(s) did you use for that extension?
Did you ever hear back on your question?
@@zoramgarcia776 No...the response would be above your question.
Is this a good washer for wood decks?
Yes. If you have a huge deck and want to go very fast, it might be under powered. But for an average deck, it is not too powerful where you will be chewing up the deck and will do a great job.
I wish my deck was longer. It is wide though 🤓
