Luke Fair spun this at System Soundbar, Toronto, '97, and blew the roof off. Orbital are awesome, but anyone who was there to hear Obi Wan (Luke's nickname) understood fully how heaven could be a place on earth.
Agreed. I was shocked this morning to see anybody had connected "Heaven" to "Bad Name" when it's "Living on a Prayer" that fits so perfectly - just try singing that "Prayer" chorus over "Heaven's"...
Musically, yes. Lyrically, no. Singing about "heaven on earth" and "living on a prayer" are much closer connected than "heaven on earth" and "giving love a bad name".
It should have been "Heaven Is A Place On Earth" with "Living On A Prayer" because they both more similar to each other in melody and also because they thematically fit each other...heaven and prayer.
