The last TV I bought was in the 80s and it developed a fault in the early 90s. I kept procrastinating about fixing it and then gradually came to realise that I wasn't missing it. So I threw it out and I've never had a TV since. Instead now I watch your videos Mr. Heath about motorhomes and obviously my life is very much better for it.
I love looking at myself naked too in the shower 🚿 or when having a wee, i was always told that if you think you have a small willy, It is probably because you are looking down at it, make sure you ALWAYS look at it in the mirror to get a much truer picture of size. And they were 💯 percent right! Looks like a different willy in the mirror, much larger because of the angles. Remember guys, never judge your willy size just from looking down on it as unfortunately many men are STILL doing sadly
Love the van Alan. Its a sort of compact A Class.....just perfect. All the space, luxury and features but with a reasonable length and easy to manage. I love it. Well done!!
Wow, Alan, what a beautiful wagon 😊, it's got my favourite colour on your furniture, awesome bathroom... Great... So.. Don't mess things up with too much DIY work 👍
Congrats Alan, it's a beautiful motorhome! We hope you drive many safe miles in it. Thanks also for all the good reviews, it has helped us a lot when buying our own motorhome! Greeting from the Netherlands, Petra & Erik (campeer&meer)
Dear Alan you found a incredible perfect conserved motorhome, compliments! Let me tell you...your entusiasm in describe and explain your new toy show you like a baby eating a ice cream. We men are baby but with big toys!!........p.s. they made camper better 15 years ago than now!
Thanks Stefano - I also think that there is nothing like this on the market. I put up a video of a new Hymer motorhome last night and in the chat said that I would much rather have this one than the one I was showing.
I don’t know you but I have been watching your videos for a while. I’m so happy for you! It looks amazing! And your excitement is contagious! Made my day, thanks 🥰
That is indeed an exciting video for me Mr. Heath. That motorhome you have bought is absolutely the kind of one I will be looking for when my search for a motorhome begins at last possibly towards the end of this year. I want one of roughly the same age with a large garage. Hymer is the manufacturer I'm most interested in because of the quality but also there is an excellent owners club in the UK full of people with a lot of knowledge and a resource like that is very useful There is a lot I like about your B514. That skylight in the shoilet ("shoilet" is a word I am trying to introduce for shower/toilet room) is really good in that one and I really like a skylight there. Personally I would keep the bed over the cab because although I don't have any grandchildren I do have friends foolish enough to think that going on holiday with me in a motorhome is a good idea. Lovely lovely motorhome Mr. Heath!
I think the word shoilet already exists, I just did a quick search and found it from 2006 - and it is used in this sense. As for any friends who may want to travel with you, then I can recommend the sleeping arrangements for any mates of mine who think they want to turn up : ruclips.net/video/FvTov6VQOvE/видео.html
Alan regarding your fridge sliding lock latch. We had the same issue on our former Swift caravan. The locking sliding latch is made of plastic and over time suffers fatigue which is expected. Actually the latch should only be used whilst travelling not regularly in and out the fridge. The plastic mechanism can be repaired which will last as long as it is not forced or as I were told by a caravan engineer readily replaceable for a few quid. Great van by the way!..enjoy!
Great choice, looks very good. I just bought a LHD Hymer B544 2002 also in excellent condition. I hope you make videos of any little changes you make. Thanks..
@@VanlifewithAlan I know that feeling. I sincerely hope you enjoy some wonderful travel experiences in your new pride and joy. I look forward to the videos!
Hello Alan, lovely well cared for van.im the one one who mentioned the A and E steps.Couple of words of advice. We had similar dropdown bed in Rapido A class, dropped down on M6,obscured my view in centre lane and nearly killed me and my wife and thats with just a duvet on bed.Be careful what weight you put in it.Also Hymer use the moving shower door in toilet, sounds great idea, but constant moving puts pressure on plastic pipe under sink and in mycase ripped the bottom of the sink out.Check the bottom of the sink for cracks and any cracks put twinpack glue around it and if the feel the pipe is putting pressure on the sink unit fit a small pipe extension to take the pressure off.
I'd keep the mattress on and use it for storage then if you do need the bed the mattress is still on. We are on our third motorhome and love the auto trail we have now.
Are you actually living in it, of so good on you, I get an odd mad idea to just rent the house out and take off but knowing my luck I would rent to someone who grew weed and trashed the place😀
I am going to do that as this was the second attempt in one week at buying a used vehicle. I possibly cannot help much with the scams as I don't know them all but I can of course mention them.
Lovely van considering its age. Didn't know folding toilet existed in 2006! I don't think you are supposed to load the front bed while driving. You probably can't lock it in place with the ikea boxes in there.
These toilets existed long before 2006! I will remove the mattress before putting in the boxes and I suspect that even when packed with my clothes, it will weigh less than it did with the mattress!
Congratulations Alan - it’s pristine. Would you have a view on the integrated transit Exsis I from roughly the same era? I’ve noticed they are quite competitively priced and wondered if this is because of shortcomings?
There is a problem with the Transit (which I also owned) which was due to condensation I later found out which shut the engine down. Of the two, I think this is much better but that is just my opinion.
Have a look a technique called retro brite - it’s a method of using UV light and hydrogen peroxide (I think) to restore yellowed plastic back to its original colour. It’s mainly used in the retro computer world for restoring yellowed computers and consoles.
That is really curious Glenn, I will mention that to others. The website is here : retro-brite.com/ . If anyone has any experience, I would be interested to know of it.
Good man yourself Alan congratulations. Very nice
I love how excited you are about the van, it's lovely and so good for it's age.
Thanks Diane, I am sure I will be just as excited once I show the video of how I have moved in!

i dont know what it is about motorhomes/ rv's but the older models always look better in my opinion
Congratulations! At first I thought it was brand new with how clean and well maintained it is.
May you have many years of happy ownership! 🎉
It looks brand new - the owners kept very good care of it.
Lovely to see. Your excitement was so obvious in your voice. Enthusiasm is infectious. 👍
Thanks Tom - I am very enthusiastic about it.
Hi Alan, what a beautifully made motor home really chuffed for you getting this. Tracy & Steve

We recently bought a 2016 Hymer T 554 SL. Love the “old” Hymer style. Good luck with your “new” Hymer, Alan. Thanks a lot for all your videos!
Thanks for watching them all!
Very clean and beautiful with a great floor plan. Enjoy!
I think the floor plan is great too!
Congratulations Alan it looks in beautiful condition from an era when Hymers had great build quality unlike todays models..
I think the same Steve - they are not what they used to be, judging from some of the feedback that I get!
Very nice RV, I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself in this!
I already am!
Just so uplifting to hear your excitement with your new home.
That is a great comment, thanks Andy!
A fabulous new home Alan !!! I know you will absolutely love living in it .... wonderful I'm delighted for you

Certainly Andrew, the former owners looked after it really well!

Nice to see one of these going to someone who'll appreciate every aspect. Congratulations, from a very jealous aspiring owner.
